That was similar to how Mattias Ekstrom did on his first drive at Bathurst. He was clearly faster than Andy Priaulx.

Interesting also to read about Courtney possibly at Walkinshaw. I'd say Simona is a done deal at NISMO.

And in other news:

Yup. The newly-extended Hampton Downs looks like it would be a good fit for the Supercars. Taupo would be nice as well.

As far as I'm concerned, that's the best news possible about the races in Asia.
We've got enough Kiwis in the series now to warrant more than the one round over the ditch so, embrace NZ I say.

I was all for a push into Japan instead. However, yeah, time for a change. Spend two or three weeks in NZ. Then, finish at Newcastle. I'd prefer a Sprint round at Bathurst to end the season(wishful thinking).

Richie did mention he was aiming for a full time drive next year or the year after (in VASC).

Who would he join (who can take him)?

A quick glimpse at natsoft showed that Richie best race lap was half a second quicker than Chris managed. The changing conditions would've been a factor, but still a good sign for Stanaway.

I don't think that there was any serious suggestion that they would go to Japan.
There was a possibility, but I feel Warburton was going for the tourism aspect of Indonesia.
If he goes to Super Black he would be a strong challenger given they have Pra Equipment.
They could do a two car squad.

Does Super Black even have 2 licenses?
No, PRA may be taking that one back for Lebrocq. They may as well run two cars if the wish to continue is what I'm getting at.

Where are you getting this from? I haven't seen a single reliable source to support your claim.
I was thinking Suzuka and it's actually Sepang he mentioned.

I don't really see what restructuring the team would do. They already run Super Black alongside Rod Nash Racing, so unless Super Black have financial trouble, nothing really changes.

Time out. How does Lebrocq get a seat(if PRA are placing him in the main game)?

I'm confused. Rod Nash has the #55.
Okay, scratch my other post. PRA does not have the #111. SBR bought theirs from Walkinshaw.

DJRTP took back their REC for Coulthard's car.http://www.speedcafe.com/2015/10/13/djrtp-confirms-coulthard-and-pye-for-2016/

So, I don't know how PRA are getting Lebrocq in a car.
Edit: forgot about this possibility

We'll see.

SBR are run as a satellite team of PRA. PRA could acquire their REC and run it themselves, or merge it to make Rod Nash Racing a two-car operation. Or even just place LeBrocq there.

I'm not sure how I feel about Lebrocq, sure he is amazingly quick in the Dunlop Series but he has the most up to date car out there in the Falcon FG X while the rest (except 1) are stuck with older VF Commodore, Falcon FG and even last generation Falcon FGs and VE Commodore.

Yeah, they do deserve more than one round. I'd imagine too, that it would be a hell of a lot cheaper to send the cars and all the equipment across to NZ vs somewhere in Asia.

I suspect the only problem is the NZ tracks giving the fees involved a huge :odd: :irked:

The main argument for having several Asian rounds was to group them together and offset the cost. I see no reason why that would not benefit New Zealand.

Well they were thinking of three Asian races so what's wrong with grouping Pukekohe with Hampton Downs & Taupo? They're all FIA sanctioned venues.
I haven't seen a race at Taupo since the A1 GP event there years ago. I hope it's still up to scratch?

You know considering the relative distance and the fact there is a company running their cars in an Aussie series while not being aussie. I'd love to see a race in Japan, especially Suzuka if it were possible or more so Sendai since I think Nissan does most of their stuff there.

The Nissan Team is basically Nissan giving money to the Kellys and then they go make everything including engines, a bit different to how Volvo do it who basically have everything made by Volvo and GRM puts it together.

Yes, we know, what does that have to do with a race in Japan due to a manufacture from Japan, and making an international series actually international...?

It's an Australian team with Japanese money.

It's an Australian team with Japanese money.

Yeah so what, it's pretty much how most teams are ran. Toyota's teams in WEC and NASCAR don't have tons of Japanese fellows running around the garage. Germany's fast manufacture in F1 doesn't have it's base in Germany and isn't a German team. Yet all that doesn't matter, because it's still used as a method to broadcast and sell cars, so bringing it back to Japan would still make plenty of sense. It's still a Japanese manufacture running in Australia, the team they hire to oversee the operation doesn't change that.

Possible DVS wildcards?

Super soft tyre?

Any more female drivers stepping up next year?

Can I take a moment to say how cool it is you guys have a show dedicated to the series that actually tries to bring news and not just recap the past race. Like we have NASCAR inside or whatever but that usually is just crap last time I saw it. Just a huge in depth analysis of the past race, a prep for the next race and maybe an interview, but not much developments outside of that.

In the last few years of Speed Channel Nascar Race Hub was actually really good (Apart from Jimmy Spencer showing up) Steve Byrnes hosted and it was much like the way Inside Supercars sounds. Then when there wasn't news about silly season or stuff going on in teams they did a few sections on what some of the retired guys were doing. Too bad that Steve is gone and Fox completely oversees it now.

Well Race hub was okay, it had it's moments I agree, but I wish that all series had a weekly show talking about rumors, future technology of the sport, rules packages, and so on. I feel it helps the series be entertaining as well.
