Exactly but out of the three teams you've named, only DJRTP has a possible vacancy. On Tuesday, our old mate James Phelps suggested McLaughlin could find himself in a seat at HRT, but with a weekend like that, while Courtney and Tander floundered around in the mid-pack most of the weekend, why would he? If you're going to move from a 2016 race winning team, you'd better be heading off to RBRA, DJRTP or PRA.
Correct 👍Yeah, HRT don't even know if they'll be a factory backed team in '17, if I recall correctly.

I agree. Who's to say showing Pye the door & inviting Scotty Mac into the team would yield a performance gain overall? If Pye can continue the form he had this weekend through the year. He's going to make it very hard for DJRTP not to re-sign him. I suppose there's always the option to expand to three cars though.
Betty bought secondhand HRT discards. What did she expect?Even though the races werent the most exciting it was good to see a good mix up with the manufacturers. Erebus though, maybe they should have stuck with the Mercs?? Still early days in the Commodores (I know) but Russell is just bad.

As far as I know, she's still the owner of two dormant Mercs & all the associated parts under a tarp or old bed sheets. What's to stop her dusting them off for a run if she loses patience with the current cars?
They've pooh-poohed that, though Tim Cindric hasn't completely shot it down. They seem to be waiting to see how Pye goes before planning for 2017.I suppose there's always the option they could expand to three cars though.
I think the Nissans are there for solid top 10s, and top 5s look completely reasonable as well. I just think they're still missing that final special ingredient to go for podiums and race wins. With the way they are progressing though, I think we'll see it later this year. The Nissans are there, with Caruso finishing a solid 6th and being 7th in points. This definitely will be one of the best years in V8s.
What I thought was funny was that Caruso spent most of the practice sessions towards the rear, but when it came time to race he definitely had speed. Rick was almost opposite, spent practice right at the front and when it came time to race, only had mid-pack speed. Either one of them could get a win this year, probably in a Saturday race. The Nissans are there, with Caruso finishing a solid 6th and being 7th in points.
