Just incase anybody hasn't heard, Kyle Busch was going on a tirade on Twitter; shutting his haters down on his own.

Yeah, it's a bit outlandish of him, but it was an ill-fated pass to begin with. Not sure how the rest of the race panned out, but he came back for a decent finish.

Not like he needs to win anymore races. Long as we keep getting these playoff points and keep up the decent finishes, he'll be at Homestead right next to Truex.

Hey if the U.S. President can do it every morning before starting business, why not Kyle.

Kasey Kahne has been released from Hendrick. The final year of his contract has been waived, but he will finish the season while looking for another ride.

I think if the likes of Newman for example can still find a ride, so can a guy like Kahne. The fact that he wanted to be released is strange when I read it myself, because it gives the idea that he hasn't particularly enjoyed being the worst of the drivers at the team for majority of his six years. And also perhaps that he knew he wasn't going to be resigned. He could also be tired of Cup and looking to branch out.

My money's on Byron getting his ride.

Hendrick did an interview shortly after signing Bowman where he said that he likes to keep new talent in the Xfinity series for at least two years to let them mature and "groom" them for Cup competition. That's and I'm sure Rick new well before signing Bowman that this would bd Kahne's last year with HMS, so I'm sure he has a contingency plan in effect. Could be a one year deal with Kenseth or or any of the other guys yet to find a ride. Just another slot for one of them to fall into.

TL;DR I'm not expecting Byron in Cup until at least 2019.

Also,

Apparently there are people on social media who are mad about Leigh Diffley comentating yesterday's race and are calling him a ****ing british when hes an aussie.

I swear to ****ing god the fanbase this sport has sometimes makes me wanna punch a wall :banghead:

Par for the course, especially these days. I pay little attention to them.

Color me suprised; Hendrick must have decided to part with Kahne after that interview I mentioned earlier. I still think it's to early for him, but he's already got a few wins this year in Xfinity. That and with all these older drivers retiring, new guys have to come in and fill those vacated seats.

I'll pull for him, though. He's done good for himself the last few years. Heck, two years ago, if you told me I was going to like somebody at both Hendrick and Penske, I would have thought you were crazy. Now I've got Blaney and Byron to root for.

Well damn. Abit early in my mind but considering how limited they are when it comes to drivers currently (Sargeant still in the K&N series), not much choice.

So from what I'm seeing so far:

- Jones to the 20
- Bowmen to the 88
- Byron to the 5

So should Kurt not take the 41, how likely is it that Cole Custer takes it instead?
I think Custer would be way too soon.

Short term contract with Bubba?

Ehh. not a fan of it being short term, but it would be a massive upgrade from the RPM car. Could finally have the equipment to show his skills.
If Bubba joined SHR, it may not be short term.

DiBurrito Doing DiBurrito things. :lol::lol::lol:

Video in Spoiler Because it was stupidly big when I previewed it.

Is there a reason why that video is mirrored? Just adds a nice touch to Matt being Matt

Ohhh?

Well, sponsors would likely be more inclined to sign with him there than FRM or RPM, he stays in the Ford fold, and SHR has a young face in opposition to three guys in the back half of their careers and another who's career is debatable.

Of course, Danica may not return either, so there may be room at the inn for both.

Well suddenly that prospect is looking better.

You are a young guy playing into the mentality of other "young minded" people. Why? Is the first question. The second one is, does it really matter especially when you know it is going to happen and overreacting on forum with a community that is not ignorant solves what?

-----------------

As for Byron replacing it is easy to see why. If Rick put in a veteran for a year that would be expensive. Also he didn't really plan this considering Kasey wanted out...so, that leaves room for a rookie to come in even if faster than usual considering HMS.

Interesting how its taken this long for anyone to finally want to take a chance with younger drivers (granted their might be the possibility that perhaps the Vets are pricing themselves out of rides). Its also just amazing to me how for the third year in a row, we have drivers retiring from full time Cup driving (because I'm not so sure Kasey or Kenseth want a ride next year). Who's the next one to call it quits (or ask too much only for the team owner to go "Yeah, that ain't happening")

Good question the problem is that Cup hasn't had a driver boom in some time like they did from 2000-04/05. Most of the respected names and continually promoted drivers are quite worn. I think Cup is the last premier race class to realize that going toward your fifties and being competitive was never realistic even when drivers did it all the time still through the 90s. So I feel retirement age may drop or stay around early to mid 40s.

Or like you said being asked to leave because they no longer enjoyed racing in NASCAR.

Or a long shot theory that these big rule changes of the last five years have had a negative effect on the older driver. So they just leave.

In fairness, its the only series that thrives on driver popularity (so much so, that they wear them out with an exhaustive racing schedule ontop of a relentless PR schedule.) Not to say that others may not have that at all as F1 is possibly the only one to rival it in terms of stringent commitment to sponsors, but nowhere is it more focused on then here in NASCAR. For the longest time, I think just about everyone relied more so on Cup drivers doing everything that its both made it hard to them let them go and its taken a toll on the veteren drivers, likely making them demand more for such an exhaustive amount of their time.

I would say both those reasons more then likely have a direct connection. Constant rule changes that rival F1 in terms of absolute nonsense along with at times questionable applications of penalties, stacked ontop of a schedule that is just brutal (Not as brutal as say the WWE's since they at least have motorhomes their families can come along in, but still brutal) AND all the constant PR commitments. Hell, just the buildup to Daytona 500 is weeks of PR commitments and appearances for however the hell many sponsors they have. All this while under strict guidelines that they can't do anything else as Kyle Busch has shown, first after being blocked by NASCAR from doing a test for Toyota's F1 team just to sit at a table and look at a trophy he couldn't win while the guy that won it is showered in glits, then again this year trying to set up a Indy 500 ride before being blocked by Joe Gibbs (in the same year that F1 actually allowed Alonso to miss the Monaco GP for the Indy 500). In a sense, NASCAR almost feels like Bernie-era F1 in how they are more or less trying to control what the drivers in their series do while competing and I would imagine that after years of such a restrictive and repetitive pattern, its reached a boiling point for some.
