Looked like Logano either blew a tire or had a brake rotor explode. I think it was a rotor because it looked like something exited stage right before his car went to the left and clipped Danica.

Gotta be a rotor. Car went dead left when it went; assuming the brakes on the left were still functioning after it went.

Deformation to the roll cage on the #43. That car went up in the air bigtime. Looks like the rear end came out of the car.

Damn, that was one hell of a hit. I know I just said it but, holy 🤬.

I think so too. There was a noticeable chunk missing out of the hood flap on that side.

They're saying the rollcage on the 43 is deformed...damn.

I'm pretty certain that Logano's brake failed. You can see the hood poppin' a little before he hits her, and his hood flap a bit destroyed on the top.

They had to cut the entire roof of Almirola's Ford... I'm already guessing two to three months out of racing for him. :(

I don't think the roll cage was deformed from that wreck. Nothing impacted the area of the cage they were cutting. They weren't cutting the cage away to make room for him to squeeze out.

He just couldn't get out because of the hard impact. Hopefully, his neck and spine are ok.

The AMR guys didn't have a huge amount to do for the first 9 races, two weeks in a row now they've been on top of the situation. Maybe not as quick as Indy's Holmatro crew, but they've been good.

Joey sounds a bit shook up...aaaand that is a haunting visual.

Danica's engine was shoved way back into a car. Glad to see she got out of that as quick as she did.

Ya'll know I dispise Logano, but major respect to him for asking about Aric and Danica. After Kyle's wreck in 2015, I don't wish injury on anyone in racing; even before that, too.

It's amazing to think that Almirola's entire life could have just changed because of Roger Penske's choice of brake rotor.

You can easily hear the shock and concern in his voice for both Almirola and the damage to Danica's car. I still can't stand Logano, but it was easy to see that his concern was more for his competitors than his own race in that interview. I respect that dearly.
I think this is the most human I've ever heard him sound.

Aric now at the infield care center.

Hold up. Are you really gonna pin a part failure on one person? And the 2 and 21 aren't having issues?
I'm not trying to blame Roger Penske specifically in the way you are implying. I'm saying that it wasn't even the 43 car's brake rotor that caused Aric's potential injury.

I dislike Logano, but seeing him that corcened, even a bit pale, it's something I can definitely respect.

Danica is really pissed, not at Logano, at the fact of her luck, running pretty good and seeing her hopes up in smoke. Did she say anything about Aric? (I couldn't listen exactly what she said due to the fact that brazilian Fox Sports commentators kept translating her talk over her voice, instead of after).

Not that I heard, but she did say that the supported NASCAR for their efforts to try to keep drivers safe and to mitigate injuries in bad wrecks like the one she was in.

Almirola to be airlifted to the hospital for observation.

That's how it usually goes. I know I haven't seen every wreck, but I want to say that every driver that's been injured in the last decade were in a wreck caused by someone else or got turned by someone (Kyle's Daytona crash is the one I can't recall at all).

Aric is "alert and awake" but being airlifted to the hospital.

At the end of her interview she did briefly.

EDIT: Air Ambulance has taken off from the track.

Caution for Erik Jones spinning. After pit stops cycle thru, The 88 is your new leader, but he's on 11 lap old tires.

19 lap shootout, this has been a pretty good race cautions aside.

Truex POWERS to the lead, and ... oh, hey Harvick. You still racing?

Truex can thank his teammate for staying out. Blaney didn't have lane choice and was forced to block, slowing up his momentum allowing Truex around him.
