It's based off the ACDelco car he got his first Xfinity Series win in in 1998.

Impressed as usual with the trucks on dirt. Maybe what would help NASCAR in the long term is giving this race and style some more exposure and consider it a summer Daytona 500 of sorts. It could encourage drivers from other series (such as Lucas Oil Off Road, TORC, rallycross etc.) and, sigh, cup drivers to try it and maybe, just maybe help pull the series out of its current malaise.

EDIT: Holy balls I called it with Sheldon Creed (TORC/Lucas/Stadium super Trucks champion)

Bell has heavy damage. That looks like one of the heavy favorites is done.

I didn't know 4th was considered done!

I don't know how it's running; I don't know how it's driving, but somehow Bell is still highly competitive with the passenger side practicly in the center console.

Well he looked to be done when I posted that.

Knew it was gonna happen, I just couldn't see Kenseth going over there and I felt it was way too soon for Byron to make the jump just yet. Great opportunity for Bowman though. Now comes the question of what happens with Kahne.

He earned it with consistent results in his relief stint and that pole shown he has speed. JJ will also be happy because he wanted Bowman to take over Jr's car.

As will Dale Jr, I've had the sneaking suspicion since the Shootout that Bowmen was the guy Dale Jr wanted to replace him. Best part is the team is already familiar with him and they've already pulled off some consistant results so it shouldn't be too hard to

He's also the simulator driver for Chevy's NASCAR operations as well as the simulator driver for Hendrick according to this Racer article. So he shouldn't flounder given his success in the last go and the fact that the simulator is said to be extremely close to the real car. He should step in and be ready to go. I'll pull for him probably as hard as I'll be pulling for Larson next year.

Goes from driving the BK-trash-mobile in '14, losing his TBR ride in '15, and earning the most coveted seat in NASCAR.

Funny how quick things change sometimes  I didn't think Kenseth had any chance and Byron can have the #5 when that inevitably frees up

Not shocked by this at all.

There was a rumor floating that Brad Keselowski wanted the ride, not sure if that was true. Especially since he already has one of the top rides in Nascar.

I doubt it had any truth, people probably say that because the Penske cars haven't been won as much as they did the year before (Ryan Blaney being the closest thing to a Penske win at Pocono earlier this year). A top team having a dry spell for 1 season is less of a reason to suggest a driver is leaving then a Top team having consecutive seasons of lackluster performances.

Brad K has 2 wins this year and Logano 1 but it doesn't count because the car was illegal.

Oh, so Brad has won then. Still, I'm positive he and Joey had more wins the past few seasons before this year.

Black GM Goodwrench car hopefully.
As much as his dad's fans and most of his fans would probably love to see it, I just don't see him actually doing it. He's never shown any interest in using his father's image to promote himself. He doesn't fit the overly-aggressive image of The Intimidator, and he doesn't pretend to. He could have easily cashed in on millions of dollars in merchandise sales had he decided to go to RCR and just drive a black #3 car for a few years, but he didn't. I respect him a lot for resisting that temptation. Driving the #3 Wrangler car once in the Daytona Nationwide race a few years ago is about the closest he's ever come to doing it, and I honestly believe he did that more for the fans than he did for himself.
