I'd like to know how a deal gets done to broadcast in Europe and Asia, but not the Americas.
Bernie's greedy little ways with broadcast fees have always determined that in the past.
Let's see if that changes under the new ownership.

Be for, it had to do with 7 broadcasting Championship events and Ten with F1 rights. It's all good now.

Warburton some how, got Europe and Asia live broadcasting of all races. I'm sure viewers in the Americas, would stay up to watch. The Supercars broadcast times, are just like watching Asian round time zones.

I don't know if ESPN are any good with Motorsport today. They used to be back in the '80s & '90s before Speedvision.

Maybe I'm wrong but, I understood the host broadcaster (formerly 7, now 10) could show whatever they wanted in Australia & Bernie charged whatever he wanted to whoever had the rights to televise F1 overseas.
If they wanted the Supercars as an Albert Park support race, they talked to Bernie & either agreed a fee or didn't.

Here's a bit o that TV deal from 2015

As with these views below, its tough.

Somerhing I wouldnt want to see, but just a thought:
Should Supercars drivers race AMG GTs or C63s or cars that aren'r VASC Supercars, like Aston Martin GT4s, in a One Make Race?
It prevents the cars from getting banged up, showcases Supercars drivers in equal machines.
Grand Prix fans don't get to see actual VASC cars, as it may be the only time they could see them at an event.

Won't be a loss if Supercars leave. If it makes the AGP a bit stale, that's on the F1 owners. We'll see what comes of things this week. Maybe they'll talk.

Supercar drivers contracted to their employer's make, makes driving another manufacturer's car ok for some & impossible for others.
I'm fairly certain we wouldn't get a whole complete field available to race.
For me, it's either a full championship round with timed races (45-60 mins) or, flush the whole idea.
There's never been any mention (that I can remember) of what sort of prize money is on offer but, even $100k doesn't cover the risks involved if you properly bend a car.

I think they may be using that one, as I said before, that was the layout released in December...I think the council wants them to go further down the road and VASC said no.

It's the Shortland Esplanade (The Esses at the bottom left of the map) that has been deemed unsafe. So it's more so the top right through the park area that don't know of at this stage.

That link pretty confirms the Esplanade section, even though the article from last week was saying that it was the area of concern.

I had a look at the run up to turn 2 and down into the esses. Looks truly incredible, and will be very interesting to see how they go. Almost Macau-like in terms of tightness and and the off camber turn 4 (I think) will be super tricky. With all of these mixed messages being sent out, I hope to hell that they go with the Esplanade layout.

Indeed. The "walkway" on the right(heading downhill), stops after emergency access to the spillway/park below. Placing barricades there will be paramount. Wood fencing is the only safeguard.

Maybe higher downforce cars will be okay, but the 86s, Super Utes and if we see TCM attend, they'll be tip-toeing through that section. We'll see.

Percat running an equality scheme at the AGP meeting this weekend.

The supercars will have a 30-minute practice session at 1250 this afternoon where they will use tyres from their allocated practice batch of 16 tyres for the season.

They will then have one set of tyres for each of the four 13-lap (30 minute) races, Friday through Sunday.

Each set of those tyres will also need to be used in the four corresponding back-to-back 10-minute qualifying sessions from 1700 this afternoon.

Have to admit that the Red Bull cars actually do look a lot better with the Holden logo's now in white.

And EDG Capital (whoever they are) branding for Tekno for the weekend.

Yeah, sounds like someone pointed out that they looked like a murky mess in Adelaide.

Sorry, should have linked the article. It does seem like Roland and the other T8 higher ups weren't too impressed with how the cars looked on TV.
“Clipsal was the first chance we’d had to properly see how the cars looked on track on television,” Dane told Supercars.com.

“We could see that the matte red of the Holden wording without a key line, when it had direct sunlight on it you couldn’t see it in a panning shot.

“All the stakeholders agreed that we should see what it looks like with matte white lettering here, which we’re pretty confident will work.

“In an ideal world you’d go off to a circuit and test it all with television cameras before the season, but in reality we didn’t have that option."

They should stick with the white lettering for the rest of the season, be silly not to.
