It would make sense to not conflict with the Adelaide Supercars round but unfortunately for us in S.A. common sense isn't very common when it comes to motorsport scheduling. This year Mallala hosted round 1 of the S.A. Motorcycle titles and Gillman Speedway had their Sidecar titles, both on Supercar weekend, which is fine if you're only a car guy, unfortunately for me I like car and bike racing on both dirt and tarmac.

I'm still finding it hard to see where the Tailem Bend circuit will fit in. They say they want things like the Shannons Nationals back at Mallala, I would have thought The Bend would have been better suited to any national events, and keep Mallala more for club meets, track days and the like. Why build The Bend to be capable of hosting big events only to run them at Mallala?
That's exactly what figure will still happen. It's going to happen with more races on the VASC calendar. If it were say, the "FOM 24H at The Bend" and a WSBK at Bathurst, they'll have to work that out.

The PI GP doesn't clash with a VASC race. However, a car race like an AGT event at The Bend/Mallala/Circuit Italia, may just have to run the same weekend as VASC.

What is it? 17 maximum events allowed in VASC? We'll see what happens.

Possibly go to Tekno or LDM?

Tekno would probably be the go. I doubt that LDM could afford him?

Also, I can't see how this is going to be good for WR with the season, what, a quarter of the way done? Suppose the only way to go is up though. Certainly couldn't get any worse?

I can't remember if there's any REC's avaliable, but maybe he could start up his own squad? Possibly go to Tekno or LDM?
Holy snaps.

Wow. What next? Do they leave the series at the end of the year for AGT? Maybe is not THAT critical, but who are they going to get?

Certainly couldn't get any worse?
They get beaten by LDM and lose Mobil and Boost as sponsors. They are forced to take Dale Wood, and the only sponsor they can find is Durex Condoms. At the next round, Wood gets excited when he goes for a position and the Holden Condom-ore is last seen mounting de Silvestro's car ...

Is this a case of the 'Captain' deserting a sinking ship?

One report I read made it sound like Walkinshaw dumped him. Who knows though?

Edit: Official statement from HSV Racing. Yep, he was terminated.
I expect Courtney to depart at the end of the season now this has transpired.

Honesty wouldn't blame him, at all. There might be room at T8, if Lowndes hangs the helmet up full time but where else would he go that's anywhere near competitive? Outside of T8, DJRTP and PRA. There isn't much out there.
They are forced to take Dale Wood

God, no. :nervous:

Well, guess they may as well do a complete rebuild of the team then. You're at the bottom, it'd be better to just hit the reset button, do a clean out and start again, rather than chasing something that might not be there.

It'd be a perfect opportunity to get a new manufacturer on board too. I'd start preparing for next season if I was Walkinshaw.

That's hilarious

Oh I'm sure Adrian is suicidal at having been dumped. Wankinshaw probably did him a favour without realising it.

As for JC, what about a renewal of the '10 Championship winners.
Schwerkolt, Burgess & JC maybe running a DJRTP built Ford?
If Holdsworth doesn't spend enough time in the top 10 this year, it might be time for something different.

As a someone mentioned in one the Motorsport sites, HSV are a bit like McLaren F1 right now. It's going be a while before they come back. Took minute for DJR(TP) to rise to the top.

Would BJR or GRM be options for Adrian?

I reckon he'll go back to England seeing as not much is working currently

If he stays in Australia, maybe work in AGTs. Seems the way to go. Even Production car racing is on the rise. Funny how Simon McNamara jumped ship just in time. He's having nothing to to with it.

Definitely. Especially with the engineering group. Some fresh ideas might be exactly what's needed.

Schwerkolt has plans of expanding to two cars at some point. Holdsworth and JC together, maybe?

Craig Lowndes has resigned for an extra two seasons with T8.

Lowndes is good and cool, so not sure why it's an issue when the likes of Bright, Kelly brothers, and others are still on the grid.

Even though the series is nowhere near to completion, it's going to be tough for him to make even 6th place, by end of season.

If things keep going as they are, this will be the best he can do until 2019:

#12
#97
#88
#17
#55
#5
#33
#888
#6
#34

Then, hope that TT Commodore will perform like the S60 on debut. If the Fords switch bodies and or engines for 2019, he may have his best shot yet.

Speaking of new Commodore. When are we expecting a reveal? Bathurst?

All your guys dreams have been crushed

Honestly, I fully expected that he'd resign with T8. Would have been more of a surprise if he didn't.

Macauley Jones’ wildcard entry for this weekend.

News Corp are among one of the potential buyers. James Phelps, the new Supercars chief executive?
