Too much for him. He's not worth that amount IMO. :/

Prices are inflating way to quickly in recent years.
 
I do remember that when United signed Pogba for £89 million two years ago Mourinho did say in relation to the high transfer fee that the fees in the future will be like that or even higher...

It would also be a world record for dumbness, given that Liverpool put seven past him in 120 minutes only two months ago.

They can't be that desperate to bench Karius, surely?
 
If they're purchasing Alisson, then at least sell Danny Ward so he can get some 🤬 game time.

Yep. The tendency is to increase, not decrease. But in the last 6 years or so, the values more than doubled (Bale went to RM for 100M euros, and 4 or 5 years later Neymar for 222M euros to PSG).

I see PSG securing any player they want if the Qatari guy puts his mind to it. Money is no problem to him so money turns into a less powerful tool for clubs like Real Madrid, Man. United or Barca if they want to buy a PSG player. Especially since France doesn't allow buyout clauses.

This also reflects in the internal competitions. They get way less appealing for fans of smaller or mid sized clubs.

With the exception of the Premier League, all the other 4 main leagues have been dominated by one club in the last 5/8 years.

In France, PSG.
Italy, Juve.
Spain, Barca.
Germany, B. Munchen.

Alisson for 85M Euros is a dumb move. In the World Cup, he probably had onde of the worst defenses/goals ratio of the (theoretically) best goalkeepers.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has overturned UEFA's decision to exclude AC Milan from the Europa League. The Panel acknowledged that the decision of the Adjudicatory Chamber of the UEFA CFCB to exclude AC Milan from the UEFA Club Competition was not proportionate and the case is now referred back to the Adjudicatory Chamber to issue a proportionate disciplinary measure. The new owners apparently played a big part in the decision with Elliott Management assuring all parties they will not sell the club for at least 3 years.

If ever there was an indictment over how lopsided the prices are right now, this is it. 25/30 would have had Watford laughing all the way to the bank.

Apparently because he took some photographs with Erdogan (?). I mean, Erdogan is what he is but Ozil's parents are turkish. I don't see why anyone within the German DFB would be racist or xenophobe towards Ozil. The guy is 100% German. Weird.

 
He said in his statement that they didn't back him during the fallout from it.

Bayern president Uli Hoeness has come out and ripped into him saying he was **** for years, mentally weak, that Bayern would target him whenever they played Arsenal and that he hasn't made a tackle since 2014.

I know that sometimes he doesn't play like the Ozil we know and that he disappears in matches, but I like him, since his debut for Germany back in 2013 he's made more assists for his country than anyone else.

They will miss him more than they know...

I can't believe year after year the big teams just pretend Memo Ochoa doesn't exist. 3 straight World Cups being an elite goalkeeper and teams still prefer inferior guys or guys that just happened to have their first decent season (Alisson).

Is it because he is Mexican? Is it because he is cheap? Is it because he will not sell many jerseys? Is it because of his agent? Is it because of his age? I don't know. But to me, it's simply outrageous. He deserves a chance.

Does he want to leave? I agree that he's been one of the top goal keepers at WCs but I have no clue why he's not been signed by a top team. Maybe he's happy where he is? Is the best explanation I can imagine ^^

Guillermo Ochoa has always been a great keeper but he's not the only goalkeeper to have gone 'unnoticed' throughout his career. Igor Akinfeev has wasted his career at CSKA Moscow. I'm sure he's very rich and successful staying in his home market but purely in footballing terms, he should have made a big move at least 10 years ago.

Instead, he holds the ignominious record for most goals conceded in the Champions League.
 
Bayern Munich have signed 17 year old Alphonso Davies from the Vancouver Whitecaps for an MLS record $13 million. Davies will remain with the Whitecaps until the end of the MLS season, as he would not be able to play for Bayern in an official game until he turns 18 in November.

It harks back to those days in the 1910s and 1920s when a lot of Dutch, German and Spanish clubs employed English coaches.

In fact, Ireland's Patrick O'Connell is known as "the man who saved FC Barcelona" in the 1930s.
