105 Million for a 33 year old Ronaldo. It's just silly.

He'll go from injury to injury.

There have also been talks about Napoli going after Di Maria... Is it too soon to jump in the hype train?

Speaking of Milan, Li Yonghong hasn't found an agreement with other people keen on buying the club, and its ownership is now of Paul Elliott Singer. A last-ditch attempt to save the club considering Li has gone bankrupt in China a few months ago, if you ask me. You know, it's kinda sad to see Milan in such high waters. Let's see if Singer can bring everything back to normal...
Milan are in a tough place and it has killed their transfer plans and hopes for next season. Not knowing if they would be playing in Europe doesn't help and Elliott Management can now sell players off at will to recoup their expenses or sell the team to the highest bidder.

Not when it raises the share value of the club by an even bigger amount.

They'll also make a tonne of money on merchandise, whether or not he even kicks a ball - though at 33 I think he still has a few years of football in him anyway.

It doesn't matter how much money he raises for the club. It's 105 million for a 33 year old. It's silly! 105 ****ing million. That's a lot of pizza. Or Fiats.

It does. It really does...

For someone with his recent track record (5 Champions League trophies (including the last 3 in a row), Euro 2016 champion, Ballon D'Or winner for 4 of the last 5 years), 105 million seems quite reasonable, esp. compared to some (Neymar, Dembele, Coutinho, Pogba...). Being 33, his value is undoubtedly lower than it would otherwise be.

You really can't justify those amounts. Money has been ruining the game for a lot of teams for quite some time now, and this isn't making it better.
It was worse in the 2000s the money has gone up but the value of the clubs has gone up significantly faster. The clubs can afford these moves without risking everything like they did back then, it just looks worse.

Liverpools recent pre-season friendly with Tranmere ended in a 3-2 win for Liverpool, featured Loris Karius

During Ronaldo's 9 years at Madrid he crossed paths with 38 footballers, from Higuaín, Kaká, Bale, Benzema, Isco, James, Morata, Di Maria, Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Kroos, etc.

During those years, his 38 team mates have scored 735 goals.

He alone scored 450. ~40% of all Real Madrid's goals since 2009.

If we take into account his 111 assists, he was directly involved in ~48% of Real Madrid's goals.

I always expected him to stay put and finish his career at Madrid, the statistics pay tribute to how much Ronaldo meant in those 9 years. It's kinda sad to see a legend depart and switch colors.

Unpopular opinion but given the crazy market right now, I'd say this was a cheap transfer( all things considered ) for Juve. I'd say they make that tally back in two seasons from the marketing boost alone and he'll still be very productive towards the back end of the deal.

On Monday, Buffon entered training at PSG with 18 year old Tim Weah; the son of George Weah whom he played against in his first ever match with Parma in 1995.

Chelsea sack Conte. Sarri is imminent.

edit: Chelsea are expected to spend around €65m for Jorginho and Maurizio Sarri, with a pact of non-aggression with Napoli on the transfer market. That would mean that Chelsea agree not to activate the release clauses of players like Elseid Hysaj, Jose Callejon and others at the Italian team.

Conte sacking is only reported for now, neither Chelsea or Conte have released a statement.

Dejan Lovren has called himself one of the best defenders in the World.

Errrmmm…..

Another howler for Karius means Danny Ward must surely now be given a chance between the Liverpool sticks.

Barcelona release (probably) THE WORST welcome video for a player. Less to do with Langlet and more to do with Messi, and a talking football for one reason.

Also Conte finally (officially) sacked. @Liquid time to start the sack count?
