Don't see a problem with Gasly. May be out of the points, but finishing his first race unscathed, is better than crashing making a rookie mistake, trying to pass.
Agreed. It wasn't a great race from him. But saying he's "****" is an overreaction.

On a track where passing is difficult. In cars which are difficult to pass against a car which didn't have issues.

His teammate's on the podium and he's barely scrapping for 11th... claiming he's **** might have been an over-reaction sure, but it's a letdown considering the platform underneath him nevertheless.

Max' reason for going off track:
He was changing something on his steering wheel, and just missed his braking point

Ferrari managed to build a bad car and still believe in Vettel which is clearly worse than Leclerc. At this point Vettel won only when he had superior car (Red Bull at the times he won), by driver itself is good, but not a champion. Sorry to say.

Good job Mercedes for 2019 Drivers and Manufacturers championships, we will see again in 2020.

You have to question Ferrari's logic here. Evidence here would indicate that over the race distance they already only have the third fastest car going into the next race. Yet they are already issuing team orders where they don't need to, especially considering the speed difference between Vettel and Leclerc towards the end. They've not only snubbed the new guy (who could be bagging them badly needed points this season), but also shown their cards to the other top teams. All the eggs in one basket after half a race is shortsighted.

Good to see Bottas and Max looking quick already though. Lewis looked quite relaxed afterwards too. Mercedes and Red Bull sitting pretty after round one.

Great race!!

Bottas : perfect!
Lewis : mehh...
Max : got the max out of the car and the race!
Gasly : damn...so max can overtake a ferrari and he cant overtake a tororosso who has the slowest tyres on and Gasly the fastest....not good !!!!!
Kimi : good drive!

Ferrari : ????....

Now,lets see what happends the next race on a very different ( real ) circuit...
Cant imagine things will be the same...!!

Spy.

I wouldn't write it all off just yet, Australia has a habbit of giving a false hope.
Most of the times, Australia gave the year's world champion :D, so, at least in that point, wouldn't be too crazy to give Bottas the tittle already by winning :)

Lewis has won it only once in the last few years, so not really.

Edit: Just checked the stats, it happened 4 times (2009, 2011, 2015, 2016) in the last 10 years. So more often the winner would not win the championship. (Note that stats like this don't mean anything anyway)

Awesome result for Haas. It is a shame Grosjean retired as we could've had a double points finish, but 6th is a damn good result. I'd love to see Haas on the podium this year, although I know that would require some retirements from the top three teams.

I'm looking forward to the next race.

One year into this ESPN deal and I’ve just about had it with David Croft. His number one focus is clever, witty banter rather than just calling the race. On more than one occasion, he got teammates confused, and several times he just seemed to not be paying attention—such as when we all saw the front wing come off of Kubica’s car on replay and Croft immediately said Kubica had hit Riccardo’s discarded wing, even though the collision was quite far down the track from Riccardo’s incident.

And the wing was clearly in Williams colours too. Not one of his best days - he's usually better than that. Good to have no Kravitz cuts though, very refreshing.
