It can, for sure.I've never paid much attention to fuel percentages so forgive me if this is a dumb question.
Can that be explained by natural variation? Or is 3% large enough that it must be due to a change?

I went from 9% to 6% after the update
If one is consistent with gear changes and driving, fuel deviation won't be much unless using high fuel multipliers.I've never paid much attention to fuel percentages so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

So my .1% fuel left means I'll be coasting across the Ford chicanes all the way to the finish line![]()
They didn't dare make the Ford GT even more thirsty than before, or did they?!So my .1% fuel left means I'll be coasting across the Ford chicanes all the way to the finish line![]()
Indeed...After few practice races best of the night being total time of 27:46 running pole to finish by myself reving the Ford GT on the gridI still never even saw the fuel almost empty warning...
I'd say Ford GT got an extra lap of fuel now probably not much more. That would have been great at Fuji...![]()
Just jumped in a pre-race lobby to test fuel use in the Vantage. It appears to have gone from just getting through 7 laps to barely managing 4. FML, PD is a joke.
Edit: Either the lobby settings were wrong or custom race is using the old modeling because the custom race fuel use will get me through with a no stop. Soon find out I guess...
It's easy to mix up the fuel and tire use multipliers when setting up a race. I get an extra lap of fuel in the AMG, (so 8 laps) the Vantage can't possibly be twice as inefficient...unless the fuel was set to 4x. I had more fuel left over last night in a race where I saved none, than I did in the race practice before where I had saved a bit of fuel. The Vantage is slightly better on fuel now. 👍

That might have been the case in the lobby I was in last night. I had just under 2 laps worth left in the car.The lobby was almost certainly set up with the multipliers reversed.
I'd take that. I took a bit too much kerb and span and parked it on the run off. I was facing the right way for a change but I lost several seconds. And as it was a lobby I had to abandon a second lap to change tyres over.Annnnnd track limit penalty at second last chicane nullifies my qualy lap.![]()

Wish me luck, I’m going in...

Starting 17th. This will need to be an epic drive to finish near the front.
Sounds like what I did by mixing the fuel and tyre rates. Had to pit end of lap 4. Had fuel set to x4....The lobby was almost certainly set up with the multipliers reversed.

A question on strategy - can you qualify on the medium tyres and change to hards before the race without issue, then just run hards in the race for a no-stop? Qually doesn't need to be on hard tyres, right?
Yes, that’s exactly what I just did. You get about a minute between qualy and race to do it.A question on strategy - can you qualify on the medium tyres and change to hards before the race without issue, then just run hards in the race for a no-stop? Qually doesn't need to be on hard tyres, right?
I qualified on RH. if I didn't get punted, I could have been in the top 3. The RM were better for the first esses and I'd say the final chicane. I'd recommend qualify in clear air to maximise your cornering. Made it my business to stay out of a draft so I didn't get held up or messing around side by side with anyone. That's just me though.A question on strategy - can you qualify on the medium tyres and change to hards before the race without issue, then just run hards in the race for a no-stop? I agree with this. You got mostly clear of the two bickering idiots. They both unghosted just in front of me at the final chicane on the out lap. I was constantly easing off to avoid being the filling in an unsavory sandwich.I qualified on RH. if I didn't get punted, I could have been in the top 3. After qualy you have the main lobby screen with most of your options open. Click the cog or spanner to change tyres.A question on strategy - can you qualify on the medium tyres and change to hards before the race without issue, then just run hards in the race for a no-stop? Why would track limits change after lap 1? Doesn't seem right. So, my tip based on observations from.test races last night:
Track limits on the opening lap are harsher than every other lap of the race, particularly Dunlop Chicane and Tertre Rouge. I suggest not crossing the white lines at all on either of these corners for the first lap. After that, use the kerbs.
