I have him and Haaland as my attackers.

Not sure what James Maddison would bring to Newcastle that Joelinton, Bruno and Willock don't already have.

Southend United sells naming rights to its West Stand at Roots Hall to the Gilbert & Rose estate agents.

Which absolutely nobody could or should care about if it wasn't for the fact that Southend apparently didn't notice that those words in a certain order...

Kasper Schmeichel has joined Nice from Leicester in perhaps one of the surprise moves of the summer, Leicester have yet to sign a single player in this window.

Man United have held talks with Salzburg over the signing of their young striker Benjamin Sesko, they do value him at £50 million though and he has four years on his current deal so they don't need to sell him.

Well, if the Rose West Stand wasn't good enough for you...

... Nottingham Forest are trying to sign a Dutch striker from Willem II.

He's called "**** Hornkamp".

So its actually the first weekend of the new PL season this weekend, here are the games.

Friday.
Crystal Palace v Arsenal (8pm Sky)

Saturday.
Bournemouth v Aston Villa
Everton v Chelsea (5.30 Sky)
Fulham v Liverpool (12.30 BT)
Leeds v Wolves
Newcastle v Nottingham Forest
Tottenham v Southampton

Sunday.
Leicester v Brentford
Man United v Brighton (2pm Sky)
West Ham v Man City (4.30 Sky)

Looks like Cucarella is going to Chelsea for £50 million, do Chelsea need another left back?!

Alex Telles has joined Sevilla from Man United on a season's loan.

Ryan Giggs trial will start on Monday.

You have just under 8 hours to sign up if you haven't already before the season begins.

Palace 0-2 Arsenal.

Martinelli with the first in the first half and a Marc Guehi own goal for the second, didn't see the game (and cant watch any tomorrow!) but I heard that Palace played well and gave Arsenal a game, also heard that Saliba did well in the Arsenal defense.

Marc Cucarella has joined Chelsea from Brighton for £52 million, which is a record fee brought in for Brighton.
Maxwell Cornet has joined West Ham from Burnley for £17.5 million, could be a bit of a bargain that.

The Dutch word for striker is spits: **** spits voor Willem.

Good for Willem.

Fulham 2-2 Liverpool
Newcastle 2-0 Forest
Bournemouth 2-0 Villa
Spurs 4-1 Southampton
Leeds 2-1 Wolves
Everton 0-1 Chelsea

Fulham were fantastic and took the lead twice, Mitrovic was a menace and he put Fulham ahead when he rose above Trent to head home, Nunez came of the bench to equalize on his league debut before Mitrovic scored from the penalty spot, Salah spared Liverpool's blushes 10 minutes from time.

Bournemouth perhaps surprisingly won against Villa who were flat, Spurs got their biggest opening day win since 1994 and Kulusevski got a goal and two assists, Schar scored a banger for Newcastle against Forest, Everton did well v Chelsea but gave away a stupid penalty which Jorginho converted.

Is he called Eric ten Hag because that's how many points he's expected to get before he's sacked at Christmas?

Man United 1-2 Brighton
Leicester 2-2 Brentford
West Ham 0-2 Man City

Same crap just a different season for United, two goals by Pascal Gross in the first half and we couldn't even score properly as it was a MacAllister own goal that bundled over the line, Brighton were fantastic and Welbeck caused us all sorts of problems, we improved in the second half when Ronaldo came on but still so much work to do.

Brentford came back from 0-2 down to draw against Leicester, Castagne and Dewsbury-Hall with the Leicester goals and Toney and Dasilva with the Brentford goals, Haaland scored twice on his League debut, first was a penalty which he won and the second was a cool finish in the second half, typical City performance.

penalty which he won

I don't care, its your opinion!
Not really. It's the definition of a penalty.

You don't "win" 12 penalty points on your driving licence. They're a punishment for breaking the rules.

Penalties in football - and literally everywhere - are a punishment for breaking the rules.

The opinion part is that the concept that they're a reward is literally why footballers dive to get them, which is the reason why football is so derided for its dreadful play-acting and fragile players. It'll keep on going as long as people keep on using this language and celebrating it.

We also "won" a penalty this weekend. It wasn't a penalty, because it was outside the (penalty) box.

I'm not the only one who uses that turn of phrase....

The Mandela Effect is the concept of many people saying the wrong thing, or "Collective Ignorance", of which saying winning a penalty is one of those.

I'm not the only one who uses that turn of phrase....
Nor did I say you were... but you do have control over what you say in your own posts - and what you say influences those around you.

You said it here. I responded here. I wasn't addressing all the slack-jawed professional pundits who can't pronounce "Nottingham" or "three"; I was addressing your post here.

Good for Willem.

This whole transfer saga is just going to leave everyone with a nasty taste in the mouth.

Man United have agreed a deal in principle for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot but are yet to agree personal terms, Rabiot is considered to be a back up option should De Jong not sign, United had a bid rejected by Bologna for Marco Arnautovic as this summer gets worse.

Leipzig are in talks with Chelsea over a permanent deal for the return of Timo Werner, deal to be worth £25 million.
Conor Coady has had a medical at Everton ahead of a loan move from Wolves with an option to buy.

Just seen that Haaland second.

West Ham were the seventh best team last season and spent a spell higher than that. It was like they weren't even on the pitch. With Liverpool already dropping points, the title race could be over.

Everton have signed Andre Onana from Lille for £33.5 million and Conor Coady from Wolves on loan

Man United have ended interest in Marco Arnautovic but talks continue with Rabiot, we have also been linked with Milinkovic Savic yet again and reportedly offered the chance to sign Alvaro Morata.

First round of the EFL Cup is tonight and tomorrow night, 27 games on tonight including Bradford v Hull which is on Sky, Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland is the game on Sky tomorrow.

Trust me on this. You don't want Morata... ;)
