In kind of a Le Mans related topic, I thought there were supposed to be Classic races at Le Mans last week but I can't find them anywhere. I know the Peter Auto Youtube channel has shown the Classic races at Spa etc.

Le Mans Classic 2026 starts on the 2nd July. I've got tickets as part of our summer holiday to France.

Good news in the land of Peugeot. Committed to at least 2029 and bringing another Evolution next year. The Lion deserves much better than that at their home race.

I must say their commitment to under-performance is admirable (said as a Peugeot fan). I hope a new Evo actually gives them a chance to aget into the top 10 at Le Mans without the technicality of cars not eligible for manufacturer points.

How was the classic? And how is it compared to the main 24hr weekend?

Done the 24 Hours twice now and we're debating whether to do the classic instead next year but dont know anyone who has actually been to both before to compare.

Done the 24 Hours twice now and we're debating whether to do the classic instead next year but dont know anyone who has actually been to both before to compare.

It was a great event with loads to see and do. It's certainly less busy than the 24, but that suited me as I don't like places being too busy. The weather scuppered most of what I wanted to do as it was way to hot for me to be going about in, but that's not the classic's fault.

There's loads of stuff to see with car clubs, stalls, access to paddocks etc.

It was great to see all the different cars "racing" but even with the cars split into races of different eras, their current performance means there isn't really all that much racing. The smaller grids also means there are quiet bits as the cars split up around the long track.

To sum up, go to see and hear (Never realised NASCAR sounded so epic!) the cars, not the racing.

Next years classic will be for cars from 1920-1970 and I'm interested more in that era than the 1975-2015 cars that were at this year's event, so I'm very much considering going back next year.

35 degrees average for this pale blue Scot who would burn under a 1 watt bulb, was way too much. I had aimed to walk around, and get the bus to Indianapolis/Arnage and mulsanne corner, and take loads of photos, but was unable to do as much. Spent most of my time at campsite with view of Porsche curves. I'm amazed I escaped without serious sunburn or heatstroke.

To be honest thats my favourite spot on the track. Im yet to find a better corner to watch motorsport live than the Porsche Curves so at least you had good viewing spot close to the campsite you were staying.

I have to say Indianapolis to Arnarge is my fave. You get so close to the action!

Only ever experienced this part under safety car myself but I can imagine it's very good under full racing speed.

I jumped a few fences and walked to the first chicane on the mulsanne straight many years ago, that was an unreal experience, ill never get any closer to a racing car at speed, but we got kicked out by the Marshalls very quickly.
A 2 hour walk round trip for 10 minutes of action lol
