i dont think that in a power slide there is nothing you can do to regain control is true... powerslides occur when someone... as zev says... uses the accelerated to loose traction with the ground... this can occu in the middle of a drift and in accelerating out of a corner... one still has control in fr becuase the front wheels usually still have grip... and you can always let go of hte gas... i guess you still have to wait to regain traction... and usually ps's are not useful and look ugly.... only real use is in mid drift on prolonged corners....

oh an controlly pwer slides.... like by shifting down at high revs in the previous gear can make a car turn in a smaller area...

This seems like fun... maybe some of us are slightly off topic and fired up. Anyways... i just want to say that left foor braking is a real technique used with FFs and don't say it's not cause i know it is. It works IRL and in gran turismo. It's a bit tricky with the controller but it works just fine with a wheel in GT2 and (with some thumb gymnastics) on GT3 with a controller.

It can be used instead of the e-brake. It's hardly useless... maybe the people in gt3 just don't know how to use it?

People don't usualyl use it because 1..IT's difficult to master, and 2 there are multiple alternatives to that technique..The heel-toe is just the least destructive maneuver...

Heel and toe is used in real racing, so is left foot braking, they use them alot in rallying. Although that doesnt seem to have much to do with 4-wheel drifting on tarmac, it is in fact still very relevant (I just need to do more research...).
