I love it when people switch to your car...when all they really have to do is stay on the track to be there at the end of the race.

I'll race if there's a room

Nurb was a blast, hope we can do that again some time, maybe next time I can use my camaro. That's the only thing I know how to drive fast at Nurb.

Yeah. I need to spend some alone time with my BTR and figure out how to get some more rear grip. If I could do that, the car would be unstoppable. However it may require running SM or SH tires on the front to emulate wider tires in the rear. I'm not sure the game models the wide 911 rear tires properly. My final setup of the evening had 0.0/1.5 camber....that's right more in the rear. Higher front camber would have given me more front grip...but the car doesn't need it, and it was making it too hard to find the limit. So with less front grip, I had better balance for when the rear started to let go. I was still drifting like crazy, but it was controllable.

Not uncommon for a lot of my rear weight biased car tunes. It just makes sense in my head.

Wish we could've run deep forest. I'll be working on tuning that skyline. It was bone stock with a tranny and carbon driveshaft and a few misc parts to get it at 450

Anything on the sched for tonight?

That make sense for a lot of car(higher rear camber)A lot of sports cars have Unequal length double A-arms front suspension (longer lower a-arms)= negative camber gain as the suspension is compresses. To find the right camber you need to test, that's all!:)

How bout just an open 450 night. I want to play with the btr some more.

Up for some racing if anyone is on. I could find the room easy if there is a room number?

Sorry, i forgot to check back and post the #. I just accepted your friend req so it should be easier to find next time.

Some late night action at Cape Ring Periphery:

I ran the BTR all night. With the addition of ballast I have absolutely no oversteer unless I want it...but I need another crack at it because the car has lost its character. I'm going to remove ballast and adjust the spring rate until I can get a similar feel without losing complete control of the rear end. For the most part, the car is fast enough to be competitive now. I placed 2nd in a bunch of races but mainly because I skipped qualifying to start at the back. The ballast has ruined the braking so I lose time by braking early. It also kills corner speeds as I scrub off my front tires trying to keep pace with others. It has the passing power, but Rome was the one track where I couldn't seem to close the gap. I made one minor mistake trying to get around traffic and I was never able to recover and pick up the draft of the 5th place car...even after 7 laps!

Had some fun times last night, I seemed to be pretty adept at running hot laps, getting out in front.. then binning it!

After we got most of the riff raff cleared out it made it a hell of a lot easier to make a push to the front! (then crash and end up in the back again) I've got a few BTR's I've worked on Chuy, I think I might work on setting up a 450 now

I really hate it when a guy dive bombs you, runs you off the track then leaves the room the second the credits are paid out.I expect that from a lobby room, but this was a regular.

It was a public lobby last night...since no one has been showing up to my private lobby.

I was trying to police things by starting at the back and I was booting anyone I saw driving poorly, hence the "clean or kick" lobby title. However, i gave a few people a second chance and probably shouldn't have. The start of the video above was horrible. with drivers all over the place on turn 1. That shouldn't happen. Archangel pushed Nicky off the track in front of me. Kanelauck decided he was going to outbrake everyone and luckily penalties prevented him from ruining the race for the 5 cars he would have rammed.

You would have to post the video where I had an epic fail...lol...my good races never seem to make the cut.

Got a few new cars dialed in yesterday, couple each of FWD, 4Wd and RWD. I like switching cars every race, specially after a win, so having a large variety of cars to use that are predictable and fast is my ideal racing night. I try to avoid the Elise 111R, Evora's, NSX's etc. as they are just too easy to tune and race with. Might even park the Integra for a while as it's just too darn fast as well...unless I'm losing to an Elise or NSX then it's game on!!...lol.

Yeah, I could never catch you after starting at the back. I like to post races where there is some battling going on. Grayfox was a tough pass but I was able to stick to the bottom of the loop-de-loop to get it done. I was more worried about Waffle at the beginning of the race because I know the RX-8 is one of those cars that can win almost any race when placed in the right hands.

You had some great races though. For a lap or 2 I thought I was going to catch you at Trial Mountain Reverse. I had a few good runs and closed the gap, but I never get the right line through the last tunnel and subsequent esses. I pushed hard to catch you and clipped the barrier.

GP/F was another track that I just couldn't catch you on. I was hitting the turns but a hint of understeer only got worse as my front tires wore down and I had to give up the chase and settle for 2nd. The only place I felt faster was the final chicane, but it didn't help because the turn before it I was slower.

Oh well, the BTR is certainly no NSX. It can be beat.

I'll try to join you guys tonight. My user name is to the left.:sly:

i've got a gt500 race tonight. Someone else will have to host and post the room.

How do people have luck with the evora? It weighs 1300kg to start, I think. I've made a 550pp version and it wasn't giving any real competition like my elise, NSX, or LFA would.

I've seen one guy rip up Nurburgring with a 450pp version. I've never driven it myself. I like to pick quirky and/or challenging cars.

To me the Evora is like a larger version of the 111R and handles the same kind of way, lots of oversteer, sharp turn in, except it's heavier so it's not quite as dramatic. The motor is also very strong, although it doesn't sound that way, but it pulls well out of the corners and is very good on long straights. At 550pp on RS tires it's in the same league as the M3GTR, NSX Type R...etc. In the 1:48's or maybe better at the full Grand Valley online. Never raced it on SS tires at 450 so I can't say if it is good there or not.

OFF topic:Wow! I saw 5 super gt cars for 16$ on ebay with one bid...and one level 21 ticket for 6$ with 4 bid!!!!???? You can get over one million in around 5 minute with the seasonal....I just can't believe it!If you don't want to spend 20 minutes to get these cars you should not be playing at all????

Are you serious? You mean I could actually make money by rubber band grinding out cars 24 hours a day?...lol. I think I can grind out about $15 Million a day. At $3.20 per GT500 car that's about $50/day or $1500/month for doing nothing. If I had 10 PS3's going it would be $15k/month...lol. Get outta town!

I'll be on tonight for some 450 racing, maybe cs tires.

Some footage from last night's comfort soft lobby. Lots of pubbers and most of the them behaved...or were slow enough not to be an issue. Suzuka was the cleanest race I saw where I didn't have to slow to let people catch up.

I was running my MR Vauxhall Turbo and most of the pack had switched to 4WD cars. Off the starting grid I was passed by 2 scoobies and Nic got around me in the esses while I was simply trying to follow the leaders. Tires were cold so it didn't surprise me that he had more grip. I got by dabney when he made a mistake before the back straight. I caught Nic at the end of the front straight and decided to follow for a bit. I was faster through the esses this time but he went off at Degner curve. Dabney challenged back and made a sweet outside-inside move at the end of the front straight. I followed until the back straight and passed him back. After that I was able to keep out of drafting distance. Great race!

We also ran Nurburgring, which was fun, until my car spun out on a straight section of the final sector before the long straight. Nic was right on my butt the whole time. I may have been holding him up, but I was in a MR and he had 4WD so I had to be a little more careful with throttle input.

Tokyo R246 was a bust for me. I switched to the Renault Turbo 5. The car wasn't very quick in a straight line to begin with, and it kept cooking the rear tires mid-corner. I tried my best to modulate the throttle through the sweeping turns but I eventually got pinned against the wall exiting turn 6. I went from countersteering the mild oversteer to having the nose pinned. After that I battled with some of the cars at the back, which weren't exactly the best racers...but I didn't look so hot either. That was the end of the Turbo5 for the night.

Final race was GVE-R. I grabbed a FF, my trusty Peugeot 106 Rallye. I got the pole position but the tires are so skinny the entire pack passed me before we made it to turn 1. I stayed inside and cars started ghosting like crazy. Eventually I ended up on the left side of the track through the tunnel with a Porsche to my right. rather than pull behind me he tried to negotiate the hairpin from the inside. we ghosted through each other and that put me again in the proper position for the next turn. I forced another ghost because there was no way he was going to get a decent exit speed from where he ended up after the hairpin. I ghosted through him and chased the lead car down, Dabney I think, in a wagon. Passed him on the straight and pulled a 3 second lead by the end of the lap. I slowed and waited for Nic to catch up, but I didn't give up the lead. I pulled away again...man that little 106 is quick. I should have used it on Nurb.

I was way too agressive on the first race...It's always doing this if I play Fps before GT.
There's a lag spike when I got disconnected (9:50).
I was in a MR and he had 4WD so I had to be a little more careful with throttle input.
I was in a Camaro Z/28 on the Nurb...:)
