Oh yeah...forgot...i think the extra weight helped you stay planted. plus that camaro's tires are about twice as wide as mine. I learned that from our muscle car nights.
I figured that was the case when you didn't come back online. We switch to the road after a few dirt races. Either the Camaro is ungodly fast, or everyone else left in the room needs some work tuning. All I really did to the camaro was stiffen the rear and add some camber for the road racing. It was still plowing but no one could run close to it.
I kinda wish we could make a dirt oval...and we could get rid of the dirt spray. Then we could drift around the track wheel to wheel. We had a few moments where we were side by side on that generated track, but for the most part i was out front with no contention...even with boost on full!
I know I wasn't missed, but when you guys decided on muscle cars on dirt, I told my wife she could have the TV (I watched Doctor Who and poked around with Civ IV).
I had the spoiler off when I clocked the best time around Eiger...well not off, but down to 5. I upped it to 20 after leadbdr was saying he was more consistent with less power. It helped exiting the corners but on the few sections of track where we actually raced together I noticed I didn't have the power to pass.
But in any case, downforce definitely helps...but these cars don't handle the downhill very well. They've got no brakes at all.
I'm also not a fan of how the game handles the physics. I've played a little Dirt2 and the driving in that game feels much more natural. Its hard to figure out what is going on in GT5 when you're on the dirt. Sometimes you just want to race...but when the cars are spinning in circles it makes it tough.
