Yep. I don't take lightly to getting punted. The driver cleaned things up afterward and we had a few other clean battles later in the evening.

I'm pretty quick on most tracks but the ring isn't my forte. Most of my cars are tuned soft and are ideal for trail braking and slight oversteer. This just doesn't seem to mesh well with the ring. They all feel twitchy and I lose control in brake zones.

I think I actually saved the replay in the black TVR so I may post it when I get the chance to record it.

The Ring is my favourite track, but it's hard to have a clean race, especially on the Nordscheliefe(did I spell that right?)

Well there isn't much room to pass and it is difficult to run any of the turns 2-wide without someone getting bumped off. Even the straights are too narrow and twisty to get a pass completed (except the final one). Then when you do reach the final straight, a 3 second gap can be killed by the draft.

Maybe try running weak draft?

I think we had weak draft on. Sometimes its not just the draft but difference in power that gets exaggerated by the length of the straight.

I also don't spend a lot of time tuning so its hard to be competitive when you haven't put hours into making the car feel right. However I noticed last night some drivers were extremely slow. Maybe they thought it was their driving that was making them slow, but when you get passed by 3/4 of the grid before turn 1, you've got to pick a different car.

Race 6: Toyota MR2 '86 - I shot to the front in this car and did well the first 2 sectors. A '97 MR2 caught me but couldn't seem to draft pass. He had more grip than me so at Klosteral I played it safe and he was able to get momentum and pass me before the first Carousel. I followed closely for a while but he started to pull away. At Pflanzgarten he went off. I tried to pass on the inside since he was going slower but he made an attempt to block and we were side by side fighting for track through the next section. I won out before the last carousel but entering the final straight he pushed me off the track. Pissed me off. I effed up the final braking zone (like always) and ended up losing another position.

AHH finally found u guys on GTP.

Been racing with you guys for some time lately. Some good clean fun racing!

Sorry Chuyler, I didn't mean to block you guys. I came back on track after i lost it, and you guys were coming up FAST. I would have had to go back onto the grass to avoid you guys. I also didn't mean to push you off on the striaght. But Nic was on one one side in the 240z and you were on one side, so I was blocking either Nic or you... So i had to choose one side to move.

I knew I had to mention that 'bout the Taurus Cujo. Didnt want to see the sky blue thing in my rearview mirrors all evening. :)

Welcome to the thread Prost! You'll like it here. And Nic...if Psn cards are on sale...lucky

Osprey, what are your best lap times on the nordschleife at 450pp...I wonder how low we can get?I did a 7:38.5 yesterday....(in the mx5 of course).

This thread is over 4000th post!

Welcome to the club Prost! Great driving prior to your off on that race. Hope to see you on more often. Send a friend request to me, Diabolic, Osprey, leadbdr, Nic, and anyone else you see in the room regularly. Chances are one of us will be hosting a room each weeknight.

Fun racing last night. I think the modern muscle cars chosen were good competition for each other (aside from my Challenger which has insane grip). I saved the Laguna race. That was fun. I managed my first corkscrew pass by taking a chance that Dabney would miss the apex. Monza was a battle of '10 and '00 Camaros. Me in the '00 and leadbdr in the '10. He had some crazy power in 3rd gear but by the time we reached 5th gear on the long straights I could draft past him while he couldn't pull out of the draft. We battled side by side all 5 laps but it was pretty clear that I was going to have a nose ahead once we finally reached the checkered flag...unless he forced me to make a mistake.

Before muscle cars, I had a little fun in a shuffle room with Cujo. However I pretty much dominated things each race. Cape Ring Full - 1st place. Nurb GP/F - 2nd place. Cape Ring Periphery - 1st place. That's when I decided to bail and go to muscle car racing.

Tonight FF and MR Battle Royale. Cujo vs Diabolic!!!
Cujo cars of choice Volvo s60, mazda 323, and a surpirse car shrouded in mystery!!

Cujo in an MR.. thats right folks. I found one I like. Will the powerful of Chuck Norris help me defeat Diabolic. Tune in to find out!!

GT-NUR asked me the same question the other day while in my lounge.. I didn't have an answer so I though I'd try it and I pulled off a 7:36 in the MR2 right then & there with a couple mistakes. I can likely (maybe :D) get into the high 7:20s with that car.

I bet the 111r would be 7:20s easy but that's cheating :D

Im in a battle royale...when did this happen? Bummed I missed last night...actually bummed when I miss any night. Fell asleep 'round 7 watching espn classic Mizzou game from 2004. vince young vs brad smith at QB.

anyway, wanted to comment on race when Nic was in red 240. I spent that the first 80% stuck in 3rd then not chuyler, but the other car went sideways a bit causing me to instinctively avoid and I went around. The whole time I was talking to myself, upset because the two battling up front was not allowing us to keep distance from Nic. Top tip...if your in first and the guy behind is quicker...let him go in front and tail him through track. Decide everything after second carousel where the two can leap frog or risk getting caught as happened then.

I dont let anyone by unless they make a good run on me or have the power to draft on one of the long straights. I run at about 90% of what i feel the car can handle to avoid making mistakes...but that is often slower than drivers in better cars.

Just wanted to let you guys know, I am available to host on Saturday nights starting tonight. I've got a 40mb/s download speed with 10mb/s upload, so I am more than capable hosting a quality lag free server. Personally, I would love to host hot hatches but whatever is fine with me. My PSN is the same as my username, Pepsibottle1. If you could Chuyler, send me a PM if it's alright with you

My message was meant for folks of lesser skill than you. I was speaking more to folks to find themselves in first for whatever reason and are not acustom to being there.

That's me. I get nervous in front.

that's why you like it in the rear, right ?

...that door was wide open (...the back door!)

I would like you race occasionally, but I would like to know what car to start with. I have no idea what the best car to tune to 450pp is. Thanks!

Just pick a Mid-ship you like and go. :D

That door is usually open, but should you might come across it lockes. In that case, there's a hideaway key left of door in a pho-rock that will let you on in!

Anyone have the paint color Adonis Yellow? I have 1600 paints, but would like this one in particular for several more of my 450 cars

I usually try to find cars with a balanced weight distribution, around 260hp, and around 1200kg for a good overall car. Then there's track specific cars. Tight track, lightweight(miata). Long straights, power(camaro). Maybe not the best but that's how I find cars.

I still like Cone Killer's RX-8. I'm actually working on tuning an S13.

Furthermore...pick a car thats north of 400 to start up to not far over 450 if you like. Excessive performance modding and/or limiting can degrade the car's abilities. Oh...and start Japanese and not front wheel drive. For sport tire racing, beginning with 4WD is a safe bet as well.
