Doesn't seem like the PSN is coming back tonight. Sad panda

How about one night be a single model race?
Like a pick a car, very light mods(suspension and custom trans) and we all use that one. Im not sure how that works but I know you can do it.

Someone different gets to pick a car each week.

I like this idea. This was actually my plan for another series. I have noticed a few like this on here, but we can set it up like the lemons series giving drivers money to do what they want.

I also vote for a modern muscle night. Could rotate mondays between classic and modern. Modern would be american f/r cars from the 80s on up. (this would keep the ford gt, and s7 out, to be more fair) so cars like vipers, corvettes, chargers, and mustangs.

I'm game for both single-make and modern-muscle. I'll add them to the schedule.

Did some practice to try to dial in my dirt car for Monday...

All i did the last 3 days was grinding for money to buy more cars for our 450pp series night.... Finally reach lvl 35 in bspec and earn myself the RB X2010.
Hope this PSN fiasco wii be over soon... Miss racing with you guys...

I've been knocking off the rally special events. I found online racing before I completed most of A-spec. I also spent a little time Golding the license tests. I've got gold across the first two licenses as well as the last. That damn Schumaker Ess had me frustrated for awhile until I adjusted my line by going over the outside curb befor entry. It was enough to knock off the 8/100th of a second I couldn't find elsewhere.

Not sure if I will be on tonight, and also not sure if PSN is working. It's 80's night though if someone wants to attempt to host.

I'll host if its up.

The only good thing about this outage is I'm making great progress in the other parts of the game. Finished the two Rally Special event tiers with gold on all events. Got golds on all the Flight Academy events except Intermediate (ran out of time last night). Also golded my B, A, and S licenses. I have silver on the rest from when I first got the game and if this outage continues i will probably have gold across the board by next week.

I really wish the save feature was available for the endurance races. I just don't have 4+ hours in one block to do them. I have gold across all A-spec events except the FGT championship and the endurance races.

I haven't played a second since the outage :(

Yep, my PS3 was off all weekend. I've decided to give the Roadster Endurance a shot tonight though.

Bone stock '91 Miata that you win from IB License Bronze, oil change, SH tires. Let's see how this goes.

I finally did the 4 hour nurb. Only have the 2 24 hours and tsubuka 9 hour left.

Well so much for that... the '91 can't keep up with the two '00s without some kind of modding or better tires.

The frontrunners are pulling pretty steady 1:11s and 1:12s and I can only manage 1:13s and 1:14s. So I stopped to observe. They are over 80 laps in now and nobody has pitted, based on the 20 laps I completed before stopping I determined I'd probably need to pit around 50.

I think I'm going to need to pull out my Season 1 Spec car and maybe use some SH tires (or maybe even CS) on that to be competitive. I could have sworn I entered this race briefly with that car a couple months back just to see what it was like and I walked the competition pretty bad, which is why I chose to go with a completely untouched car for my real attempt.

Oh well, it's too late now. I'll have to mess around tomorrow and possibly detune my Spec Miata a bit to make this a challenging race.

i have goldened all the licenses and the special mission exept from the vettel challenge, only bronze:grumpy: but now i want the psn back! maybe i can try a endurance, the nurb 4 hour most probably, any suggestion on witch car to use?

Something slow.

The method I normally try is to start the race and if I passed more than 3 cars within the first lap then that car is going to be too easy and boring. Quit the race/game pick a slower car and try again. Sometimes this may not be the best way because (as in the Roadster race I'm doing) there may be a couple of cars that are way faster than everyone else, so you need to make sure you can keep up with them.

Another good way to do it is to pick a car you're pretty sure is going to be too slow, and see how many seconds behind you are after each checkpoint (for a lap or 2) and if the gap keeps increasing at a rate you know you won't be able to make up then quit and chose a slightly faster car or add a couple parts to the car you're in until you feel like the gap is something you can cover.

I saw someone post a story of how he started the race on lower grade tires and fell behind significantly. Then when he went to pit, he put on better tires and fought his way to the front. It was on the Laguna Seca track and he didn't catch the leader until a few laps from the end. Kinda keeps you interested when you know you need clean laps to catch the leader.

i have tried whit the lexus rm and it was good, but i have quit the race efter one lap becouse of that annoying 8 speed gearbox. i mean, in a lap i have changed gear 2 million times! then i have tried the camaro rm, fun to drive and slower than the HPA TT, but ruins the tires in minutes. do you know when they pit?

I did it in the subaru touring car. I forget the name but its not the cusco one.
It was a good race for me. But I suck at the ring.
Just get something that will do about 8:30 per lap and u should be close

In lieu of our nightly races, I propose the following challenge as preparation for the night we actually get to run muscle cars in the dirt. Have some fun and submit your times.

Classic Muscle Car Dirt Challenge

ok, ill try some laps later but, why set a limit of weight? pp its not enaugh?

Removing the weight restriction will have people asking to use some of the tuner cars. These cars were heavy and tough to handle...that is part of the challenge.

FYI, by reader suggestion, I have renamed it to "Dukes of Hazzard Challenge" with a special reward for using the Charger.

*sigh*

I'm missing our nightly races.

I've actually been watching TV. Havent had the PS3 on in over a week

I've used the downtime to catalogue all my possessions in an Excel spreadsheet, sorted by hue.

i got gold on a bunch of license tests and then i started playing BFBC2 on my PC >:-)

Well, after 2.5 weeks, the FGT finally showed up in my UCD. I spent last night learning Fuji, one of my least favorite tracks in the game. The A.I. drivers seem to have the edge on me. Maybe I need to rebuild the engine because they can take off down the straight and unless i get their draft I can't catch up in a straight line. I finally switched to racing medium tires to get a little edge on the turns...but that was only good for gold on Fuji and Indy. I could make a few mistakes and catch up after a lap or 2 using the draft.

However, I'm going to have to get a better tune to pull off Cote d'Azur. I can get out in front, but if anyone gets by me, they pull away a few 10ths each lap. The rear end keeps breaking loose mid turn on the slow the switch backs. All the tunes I have tried work great at high speed but all seem to have the same low speed oversteer issues. I also notice the A.I. can brake much better so I've been fiddling with brake balance too.

Fuji is a great track once you've got a good idea of how to get around it. The racing line is a bit strange cus of all the sweepers.
