Yeah, winning the race from the back row isnt going to happen in 5 laps. Likewise if you fall back more than a few seconds trying to get around slower drivers you'll never get within drafting distance of leaders unless they make a mistake. I dont expect to win, i just make it a goal to finish ahead of where i started.

Well I was thinking of picking the Autozam or Cappuccino because they are never used in our races even though they can reach 450pp. However I settled on the Silvia because I felt that after two weeks with 4WD cars most people would enjoy a simple, nimble FR car. In future weeks though I wouldn't mind if we ran the Autozam or Cappuccino as they are both great little cars :)

If I win one of these, I'll be picking the Autozam on Trial Mountain Reverse. If anyone is interested...just let me by you freely next week.:sly:

The autozam is tons of fun...but quite slow.

My first attempt at a new logo.. The cars are probably too far left but if you like it, I can fix it.

No photoshop!

Nice work fatrab.

I've been looking for a group like this forever! I'm actually part of a GT5 enduros group on Facebook. It makes it super easy to set up races by just setting up an Event and seeing who wants to race. Works great! Is anyone racing tonight?

Should be. Come check around 9.30 and someone should have a room open.

Welcome louie. Since you are new to GT Planet, make sure you have a look through the GTP OLR. There should be a link in the first post. A few of us should be on tonight. I'm not sue if i'll be on so whoever gets the itch first just post a room number for others to join.

whos up tonight?

I will have the room open in a little bit. Going to use private lobby.

Check the first post...80s night.

Sorry, for some reason I was thinking it was already the 26th.

Fun racing last night. That 240RS is very quick but the rear end likes to step out exiting corners. I should've won at Grand Valley but I messed up turn 1 and when I finally regained grip from my drift the car clipped the corner and I got a penalty. I lost two positions and could only gain back one by the end of the race.

I had no chance in that car at Autumn Ring. Every turn the rear end would step out. I had no trouble controlling it...but I would lose valuable momentum.

High Speed Ring was the perfect track for it. I started out slow (can't quite figure out the launch) but worked up to the front and stayed there. Everyone in front of me kept breaking loose but I was able to hold my line. I got passed on the last lap with the draft but I stayed close and made a move to the outside and won by less than a car length. Exciting stuff.

Tonight....

Monday 6/20: Modern Muscle Car Monday -- 450pp, >1400kg, >1980, SS Tires
Tracks: Road Course Daytona, Lobby Vote
--Host: chuyler1 (PSN: chuyler1)

Meet in my private lobby. I'll update the lobby title so people can jump in as soon as they are ready. I will be on between 9:30-9:45.

That was fun at high speed ring. I've seen and been on the receiving end of the car in front blocking at the start/finish line, but I tried to hold my line and ended up in second. The car worked real well, but my gearing was too short. Kept hitting limiter.

hope i could race with you guys tonight, been absent for all the muscle car races for a long time now.... i think my Challenger is up to the task although i might have to detune it! heck so is my bright yellow Camaro. :trouble:

i was actually surprised you went for the pass at the start of the final lap. I thought you were just biding your time to make the last turn pass. I'm uploading the video now. It was a rough start as people tried to get single file for the draft. A few cars tried to hold the inside line and that never works out well. They slide up the track and take out anyone running the faster outside line. It took me about 8 laps to realize that running the top line on the last turn was quicker. I have always followed the tire marks down to the bottom of the track...but when I saw Nic fly by, I quickly adjusted to the high line so i could stay in his draft and learn the line. On the rest of the turns, I think I was doing pretty well. It's hard to tell with the draft whether you are running the right line or not.

They will all likely have to be detuned to get to 450. It makes it a challenge when everyone is running with a restrictor plate.
