It lets you select it but if you look closely at the pictures of the wheels, when you choose the steering type, the DFGT and the DFP are greyed out meaning that setting doesn't apply to them. I don't have a wheel so I can't argue if there is a difference or not. When you choose Power Assist and FFB, notice the DFGT and the DFP come into color, while the other 3 wheels become greyed.
 
i was able to connect later, when there were less people. still couldnt see the canadians though. really annoyed by the connection issues. im so out of practice too. i just dont race enough. i need to race when rotary is on so i have someone to race in the back of the pack with. :D

now that i have fixed my problem, u better watch out coz all you gonna see is my bumper sticker sayin "your sloooow!" :)

and mind you some of the best racing happened on the middle and in the rear! 👍 coz its boring upfront! :lol:

i wonder what made me select it. but it did made a differece. tried several cars including these that i swear not to drive with the DFGT and they all were driveable. my only thing to change is to see which one is better with the FF = 5 rather than 10 and to readjust my tunes. i dont choose power assist.
also, in amateur mode the FF is coming in and out while increase drastically only when it sees you going into bumps or loosing traction wherein in Simulation mode FF is constant like you feel the wheel stiffen up as your driving a real car, all the steering inputs are there with no "loosy" feeling. Hence you can control it more.
found it out 2 nights ago when doing the compact seasonal race in rome. My CRZ keeps spunning whenever i come into turn 1 and i been correcting my steering to no avail so i fiddled with my Sterring options and realized why i was in Amateur mode? so i change it to Simulation mode and immediately notice the wheel has more constant feedback relative of the speed and steering angle that your making. Simply, its like driving a real car. So i tried it with a couple cars, and sure thing same results... better driveability.

now, if only i could countersteer fast enough...... :guilty:

Yeah, that's what I've heard...but it still allows you to select it when you use the DFGT...and my lap times improve when I do select it. I didn't notice as big a difference as Rotary...but it felt very different.
 
Well I'll be getting a DFGT on the 27th so I'll be able to try the different settings. Hopefully I'll become faster.

i've been driving in Amateur mode eversince i bought my DFGT thats why i noticed a big difference when i shifted to Simulation. Agree with Chuy, it lets you select when you hook up your DFGT and its icon is not dark, its highlighted. I dont know if theres an update that we didnt know of but heck i like how it felt now. 👍
 
Autumn Ring Reverse last night. Some close racing up front at the beginning and then I pulled away when yuri lost control. After a while I got bored so I slowed down on one of the hairpins and let Luxy by. I chased him down only to make a mistake on the uphill...so I chased him down again and just barely had enough time to make the pass on the final lap. Great racing!

In the middle of the video I caught some action between Cujo and k_riens, and then voldemort and k_riens. There was some contact and a crash but k_riens looked like he was already out of control by the time voldemort hit him. It certainly doesn't look intentional, but possibly more could have been done to avoid the contact.

LOL..figures...the two replays posted are the one's where I had epic fails...lol....just kidding!!! It was some good racing last night. Although I've raced the RM Capp in a couple of series I just bought the stock one last night about an hour before the race and tuned it up real quick....didn't even realize there was a tune for it or I would have started with that. Although I was able to run around 1:28.9 at the Autumn Ring, it was very loose in the back especially in the right hander after the start/finish line, resulting in my spin partway in. And you're right Chuyler, after making some adjustments for London, it handled much better, but when you seemed to lose it in front of me, I took my eyes off the corner and onto you for some reason and the inside guardrail turned into sandpaper and that was it for me..lol.

I had some connection issues as well. At the Deep Forest race I only had Chuyler and myself on the screen but heard others talking during the race and when I got back to the lobby afterwards, I was surprised to find 10 or so people there as I had assumed they mostly left before the race started. At Eiger I think I saw 4 or 5 in the race. This stuff seems to come and go. I switched to a Cat6 direct connection and that has made a world of difference. I used to get dropped from rooms all the time, but since I got the cable I'd say I've disconnected only a half dozen times in two months. Well worth the $40 or whatever it was I paid for it.
 
I haven't run 450 nights in a long time. I'll be there tonight!

Im not usually on friday and saturday nights so its up to the first person who wants to race to fire up a room and post it here.
 
I started a room around midnight and ran a few races. But it was late and i went to bed around 1am.

good racing tonight! I saved a video of one of the first races. Was a really close one especially the last couple of laps. Messing with my new cell phone and testing out it's capabilities.

 
Nice race. Looks like you got pushed out a little on lap 1 but you fought back. That Lotus is quick.

Yep, i'll be on for 80s night. Gonna try a different car. Lancer aint gonna get any better, RX-7 is too quick, and the MR2 gets too much use. So i'll see what i have. Any suggestions?

great fun today twichie! that fast.line guy was really an asshole. he went crazy when i was waitin for him lol. too bad that the guy with the tamora was laggin on suzuka and send me off with all parts of the car damaged

Same here. I'd love to get in some races sometime. I really enjoy the 450pp range of cars and the challenge it provides. I'm new to GT5, but I've raced for a loooong time in other online endeavors (anyone remember what Hawaii was?)
