Yep, i'll be on for 80s night. Gonna try a different car. Lancer aint gonna get any better, RX-7 is too quick, and the MR2 gets too much use. So i'll see what i have. Any suggestions?

I'm gonna try out the premium miata and maybe bring out the Golden Toilet. The RS200 is good if you don't mind 4WD. Maybe try your luck at the 240RS or the esprit?

Lancer as in Lancer Ex 1800GSR IC Turbo? I was think about giving that a go

Yeah...good luck with the understeer.

I'm bringing back out my miata with a new look tonight. Finally got this car tuned right, as for the lancer? Mine doesn't understeer

Chuyler I sent you my Lancer. Try it out tonight, if you like it, steal the setup. Also, if you do like it, I would prefer that it is not shared.

Ok, i'll give it a few laps along with my own setup to see which i like better.

Was fun those two races even though i was bringing up the rear. Not a tuner so you guys will need to help me. Feel free to add me, maybe we'll do some 1 on 1 races to get me up to speed.

Back in town. shame I've missed 80s night, but theres always next week :)

Man i am a lot better racer with my DS3. I think i need to practice a lot more with my DFGT

Had some great races tonight guys! Starting to feel a little faster, staying up front a little more. Watching a lot of FAST people's replays is starting to pay off.

It was fun to get some races in with you guys tonight. I've only had the game a few days, so I didn't have much in the way of an 80's car....pretty much bought the only one available in the used car dealership that didn't look like a box.

One question: My car was pretty loose, is there a difference between online and offline? Because my car wasn't loose at all when I set it up offline.

Yes there is a difference. If you are tuning your car you should do it in your lounge. Not just in practice mode.

Good racing tonight. I gave that Toyota Supra one race. I placed 4th after qualifying 4th. It had some speed in it but I couldn't take the corners like the other drivers. I was real late getting on the gas after the final hairpin of GVE-R and it would take the entire straight to catch up. I came in hot into turn 1 just to stay close but I was cooking the tires.

Bowtie, your Lancer is pretty good but it still suffers from the same issues as mine. Your suspension is more predictable (mostly because I've been loosening my rear trying to get the car to rotate). The car simply has trouble entering the tunnel. In both tunes, you have to brake early and heavy and crank the wheel to get the car to rotate...but even then it had a tendency to push itself into the tunnel wall. It also can't take the hairpin exiting the tunnel as fast as other cars. Anyway, I'll play with it some more on a few more tracks and send it back to you.

No hurry.

my miata was terrible last night. i havent played 80's nights for a long time. A 15min tune just didnt cut out for me. Have to bail out after the Laguna Raceway to avoid ruining the race for you guys.

There were some complaints about Cenk's driving last night. He's new. After watching the replays, i think he may not have been able to see certain drivers on the track. He was basically racing a line as if they weren't even there so that's either horrible driving or the stupid network bug.

I really don't know what to do about this...i think tempers are getting high simply because we can't see each other on the track.

I thought that might have been the case; it's just not much fun to get spun on the first lap when you're competitive.

I think that we need to try to get the person with the most bandwidth to host. I don't know if that's going to alleviate the visibility issue (it may lie on PD's end) but it's worth a shot.

The hosting protocol is more complex than a typical server-client architecture. It's not a simple as changing the host. We've tried things to resolve the issue including switching hosts and it is always the same drivers that can't see each other.

I may run a public lobby tonight to see if it helps.

From what I could see Cenk was not on a racing line. He wad going off track at almost every corner until we called him out on it.
Did you save the replay from cape ring?

Hey guys, I'll be joining you all tonight in my '96 Lancer. This looks like a lot of fun and should be really competitive.

I saved most of them but I don't remember if i saved Cape Ring.

GVE-R -- Cenk bumped me in turn 1 but I recovered. He made contact with someone passing on the outside of the hairpin after the tunnel but it wasn't bad. Then he pit maneuvered Dabney on the downhill as if he wasn't even there. Drove right through him.

I recorded some videos but didn't get a chance to upload them this morning. i can upload them tonight to see if they match with what Cenk was seeing.

I have the replay from the first race, GVE-R. I'll post it when I get home.

I've already got it recorded...I just have to upload it.

Yes there is a difference. If you are tuning your car you should do it in your lounge. Not just in practice mode.

Do it in your lounge or open a room with only two participants allowed and tune there. I do that and title it something along the lines of "400PP CSTuningonly" and generally don't get bothered. I've noticed when I use a lounge it sometimes takes quite a bit longer for the tires to warm up. In practicing for the Cappuccino Series, the tires will stay dark blue and never heat up in my own Lounge.

Johnny, that is a separate bug. The first track you load in your lobby will have the cold tires bug. Load a different track and you'll be fine...

...but there do appear to be slight handling changes between private lobbies and public lobbies. I was able to gain a second per lap at Cote d'Azur the other night when we switched from a private lobby to a public one. Everyone else was faster too...but if you are fine tuning a car, you want it to behave the same way during tuning as it does during the race.

I'm new, but I didn't have any problems with either seeing other opponents or lag. The two or three races I ran seemed pretty good.

Could I make one suggestion/request? It would be nice to have the end race timer extended to 1 min. 30 secs is sometimes too short for those of us at the back, and when you are having a battle with someone at the back only to have it ended because the timer runs out, it's kinda frustrating.

So....what is the preferred method of tuning for online then? If I want to be competitive (and safe), I need to have things tuned up and ready. I really noticed the difference online, especially the tires. I can run lap after lap offline with barely any wear, but online I really noticed the tires wearing after just a few laps.
