I was wondering if this is a good car to run the 24 Hours of Le Mans Endurance race. I am currently nearing the 35 A-Spec. Its a fun car to drive, but there are drawbacks. Will it preform good against the competition?

yes it can win.. but are you good enough to win? remeber towards the end of the race the AI pits alot more then so you will get a greater lead, or catch up if you trailing

You should'nt have a problem really, it will be a close one if you dont tune it making for a very exiting race.
I did the nurburgring 24hr in a stock team 908 with racing softs and was very close till it rained then i pulled out a major lead and won.

ps:: unless it absolutely pisses it down stick to RS in the wet.

whats the panoz esperante classified as?

I think it's a GT as there is a street going version of it.

Edit: Just checked the wikipedia article about Esperante GTR-1 and apparently it has almost nothing to with the street car of the same name. There were two homologation models made so it's probably in same class as the BMW McLaren F1 GTR race car and Mercedes CLK-LM Race Car.

i wonder how much better the AI is in this race following the 1.10 update?

not a lot, but its noticeable that they are smarter, they no longer brake when you overtake them, they brake later, accelerate earlier, they follow different lines, ive seen one go off the track to make an pass, ive even seen one try to spin out another car.
as a responce to the thread, the 908 is fast, but you might want something with a bit more power.
Suggestions:
R92CP-Fully Tuned-1079hp
R89C-Fully Tuned-1047hp
C60 Hybride-Fully Tuned-1047-hp
X2010-1556hp
Formula GT-931hp
Minolta 88C-V-Fully Tuned-1035hp
Jaguar XJR-9-Fully Tuned-1007hp
Merc. C9-Fully Tuned-1009hp
The FGT is the only car here with under 1000hp. these cars are superfast, just make sure that you change the transmission ratios to increase the top speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed....

And eat loads of carrots if you use the FGT.

No lights.

And speaking of no lights Mark...I never drive with the driving line on, Does it glow at all in the dark? Just a thought!

It does help but last week i did the 24 nurburgring in a 908 no driving line and struggled bad at night as could only use dip beam, main beam was plane spotting somewhere LOL.

Edit: found out how to adjust the ev brightness 1 hour before daylight. what a plank.

Thanks for the heads up Mark.LOL..I finally reached A-spec 40 just last night and I'll try to remember to fire that line up before I set out on my 24hr Ring race...I just bought the yellow Audi R8 and I'm sure that'll be my ride!

Btw, I make it all the way to level 40 A-spec and all I get is a Friggin trophy???...It's like when your Grandparents go to Hawaii and all you get is the T-shirt!...lol:ouch:👎

RIT.

Do a few trial runs at night online to find which cars do have good main beam, i struggled badly on the very fast section down the valley around the halfway mark 200 mph is damned hard with them flat left handers when you cant see em coming. If lights ok on the R8 '01 you will win that car flies round there, all the best.

Edit: best race in the game i will be doing it again soon.

I've played the Nurburgring so many times I can practicaly do it with my eyes closed.

My exact thoughts as well ive done 1000s of laps in all diffferent cars but i defy you to be able without lights and no racing line stay ontract on those 200mph + bends.

This will win easily. If you're a good driver you can win in a Mazda Furai Concept, BMW McLaren F1 GTR Race Car '97 and even the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car, ZR-1 RM and Zonda R. If you want an even harder challenge try the Veyron. :)

Noone mentioned the R10, how does it compare to the Pug?

It's worse. Its lap times are closest to the '03 Pescarolo for me, with a high RPM turbo and racing soft tires added to both. The R10 is also less forgiving than the 908.
