What shall we do about tyre wear?

Good testing tonight. I find that I'm pretty decent a controlling the Merc even though I use a controller on tracks like Suzuka.

You did an awesome job at suzuka mate.

I will take into account all the race results and testing and come up with something soon. Watch this space.

Andy- Why did you leave? Just wondering.
 
I had the racing line coming out of the first bend and he tried to take me on the inside but didnt have the speed, by back wheels hit his fronts and he went on the grass. All he had to do was take a step back and brake.

You went wide going into Turn1. Leaving the door open. I look and move my car to the inside and you turn and turn til we touch, but dont lose out. Then on that little striaght I stay far right and you pull to the right quickly.
1) I couldnt step back I had no time to react
2) You knew I was there, since you hit me into T2 so I honestly dont know how its MY fault.

Its only practice and you still hit me off.

I left because I was hit twice within 2 corners of Etid who's treating it like bumper cars. He knew I was clearly there, yet pulls to the right thinking I'll back out when I have my line. Stupid. I was just annoyed and tbh no point in racing if I cant overtake people who ram you off.

At the end of the day its a practise race but its annoying that some drivers dont respect or be more careful towards the drivers behind them, seeing as its only testing.

Sandman and I had a small incident. Not sure what happened but he gave the place back, and I was fine with that because it was an accident. Sorry but I dont see what I did wrong. I wasnt racing 100%, I was testing my car and seeing the performance. I dont care where I finish I just want to know what my car is like with the extra power and weight.

Well if its a practice race then should contact cause this much of a fuss?
It's annoying yes but portioning blame is going to do absolutely nothing to help. Other than create tensions and rivalries between drivers increasing the risk of it happening again.
If you get rammed off take it in your stride and make sure you beat the other person fair and square on the track.
Discussing it like this is only going to inflame things and make it worse.
 
Andy- Just relax mate, its not the end of the world. I probably shouldnt have asked why you left but I heard some talk about a rage quit so I asked.
 
Yeah, apart from the one 'incident' it was very productive tonight. I have 2 firm ideas for the settings and am going to find the middle ground and then announce it so people can start tuning.
Without wanting to state the obvious I think the Merc has a decent advantage on the straights and fast sweeping bends. The AWD cars get a better start and are quicker getting away from the slower corners. The 190 doesnt wear tyres too bad but the AWD cars destroy theirs (Front). Its going to be interesting finding a setting to help narrow the gaps but I shall try (insert dramatic sigh :lol:).

I missed all the testing tonight being online with mr. cheese ( he needs company believe me, if he doesnt he just sits at home and drinks) :)

The Alfa is in the OCD for those that dont have it I would reccommend you get it and the Cally is there too but beware it is the Opel version but I warn you that it is a massive spring breaking 20kg heavier than its vauxhall counterpart :lol:
 
I'm gonna but the DLC when I get home and do up the new cars. I will pick up the Alfa as it's the one I don't have.
 
I didnt realise the DLC was out bro? I thought it was tomorrow.
Ill be announcing the new settings for this championship later.
 
DLC is out tomorrow for Europe as the PlayStation Store updates on Wednesdays.

For the States, it will be tonight EU time if you get me :)

Will be spending my hard earned millions on the Touring Cars I don't have shortly :D
 
To much power would favour the AWD´s even more.

I would still prefer my pre-season spec´s because I did the test again but at 2 other Tracks and all where pretty close together again.
=> must be a good route but everybody screams for more power even if they say the Car handles bad

I am aiming for free turbo choice so I must increase the power and weight as I want all cars to have the same restrictions. Nothing I do can take away the tyre wear problem on the AWD cars except to put some weight on the mercs and bring the power up.
If we turned tyre wear off it may be different (slightly) and it may mean we could get going next week (it helps with the bug apparently. If you guys are insistent we must wait until the bug is fixed :(
 
Although im in an Alfa i'd be against tyre wear being switched off takes away some of the realism for me anyway.:dopey:
 
I understand that sentiment.
Ok the settings will be announced within the hour and I urge everyone to try them in a race before complaining etc. Remember the aim of this is to have a close competition!
 
So what are we doing tomorrow night, are we running the race as normal and starting the championship, or are we using it as a test race?
 
I dont think we can run as normal mate. Too many disconnects/black screens/lag issues. How about we put notice here that we will start next wednesday from scratch? I will put the new settings in the OP at the same time?
At least there will have been an update and if we all clear chaches and the two hosts run the rooms on minimal settings we might have a chance.
 
Sure thing mang, will it still be within the hour? I lack the virtue of patience :D

Also can anyone with virgin media connect to the internet? Mine is currently down :(
