viperguy i give you the award for making everyone in here the maddest i have ever seen one thread make them. i believe you are entitled to you're own opinion regardless of how wrong it is. as for me i'm in america and i don't even have an opinion. i won't get the game for 13 more days.
For some reason, viperguy, I want to strangle you with your own intestines. You have not listened to anyone on this board, and I doubt you have "over 1000 laps" under your belt. You have irritated me to my greatest extent, and it is all I can do not to find where you live and lecture you on how dubious your rampant (and false) ideas are.
Everyone may have his own opinion on how good or bad things are, but this rant - like (too) many - just is way off the scale. It's fine if you say that the game is alright, but you think that the penalty system needs some major refinement and that the tires feel kinda off. Taking those arguments to say that the whole game is "poor" is the actual problem...
That's like saying that the early GD Imprezas (the ones with the gloopy eyes) are bad cars because they look odd on the front.

So you say as a game it's great, yet you name the thread "... how poor this game is". And you say that it's not a good simulation because of penalties and tires. I give you the penalties, they mostly are pretty badly placed. Not like this is news to us, but anyway. As a game its great.. my arguement is it's far from any simulator. Case in point, penalties and tires.
......I thought this was the "Real Driving Simulator" ...last time I checked

But I don't see much fault in the tires. If you take real life as a benchmark, they may not be perfectly spot on. But this is a game on a console, and not even a finished one. Therefore, I see little room for arguments in this direction. For my feel, they are close enough to real life and on par with other simulations.
I wanted to know when was the last time you checked. PD stopped using that slogan after GT4.
I did'nt think i could fit "simulation" into the title..thats why I stated it in the post.
fixed for youHave you considering looking at how long some of the thread titles are? Honestly, you just keep digging a huge hole for yourself, and then jump in it. Calm down, think a bit, and then post maybe.
Look on the front of your disc case..below Gran Turismo
nice! and you've compared that one to the impreza in GT5P and thinking the in game is completly off? I have driver license and I think even GT4 is great simulation with the DFP.
lol, yeah I think you are right. I always missed the fine prints...
I don't like that slogan to begin with and I was under the impression that they changed it to "The Drive of Your Life".
Okay, so now let's get to the truth immediately.I did'nt think i could fit "simulation" into the title..thats why I stated it in the post.

still doubt really hard that you've got over 1000 laps at the ring..
Okay, so now let's get to the truth immediately.
You're trying to master S-10 in an Elise, which is - as I've discovered by myself - a very demanding task. The Elise is pretty hard to control, and all the contacts with the AI, may they mostly not even be your fault, result in a penalty for you. This makes you mad, so you come on this forum to vent, and state how bad the penalty system, the tires and therefore the whole game is. Yet, you have not stopped playing it up to S-10. If it were a bad game or a bad simulation as you say it is, you'd have stopped playing after five minutes.
Now, your problem was that if you did state your criticism in the correct manner and in the proper overall context of how good this game actually is, there would not have been any rant, nor a reason to open a thread. So, you intentionally went overboard with your dislike and created this thread for the wrong reasons.
Did I forget anything?
I used the Mine's Skyline. I found it to be a good compromise between power and handling. And you need one for S-3 anyway.
And if the game is a bad simulation, which console game is a better one?
OK this is me with my Moderators hat firmly on here.

I haven't seen this being brought up before, so: which wheel are you using, and with which settings? And I take it you use professional physics, right?
EDIT: posts #80 and #81 are double posts for example.
