I tried the Deltawing and won the race by 5 seconds. Unfortunately the game crashed after the replay (again!).
I used medium tires at the front and soft at the rear and kept most of the downforce.

Wow, is this the only car doesn't need pit stop for this race ?
It's the aerodynamics and the weight, that allow the Deltawing to get through without a pitstop. Maybe the Chaparral 2X can achieve this too, but i don't even know, if this "car" is allowed in this challenge.

Wow, is this the only car doesn't need pit stop for this race ? Bravo 👍
The list of plans for the Death Valley nightmare continues to grow. It appears that I could do with a handful of 2nd to 5th place finishes to build up dough before winning. However my plan appears to be burn tyres out, constantly make mistakes with the invisible barriers before ending up with ruined tyres and 3/4 of s lap to its OR just running out of petroleum for a bit of variety.
However all that changes today! I'm leaving whiskey alone and trying a few cold ones instead...

I've gone back and re-ran the '67 Ford Mark IV Race Car and easily beat the field with a time of 25:09.439. The '67 Ford Mark IV is a bit skittish on this Death Valley track(and my tune needs some more work), but it is certainly fast enough to power past the field for a win. My best lap was a 2:18.385 on lap # 6. I'm using a pit strategy of RH tires for 4 laps, RM tires for 3 laps, then RM tires again for the last 3 laps. The left rear tire is wearing down the most and is starting to complain on the last lap of each of the above tire stints.

My current tune (which still needs work) is as follows:

Installed the High RPM turbo, so my '67 Ford Mark IV shows:
PPV: 620
HP: 640
Wgt: 1010

Ride: 100/105
Springs: 10.8/10.7
Comp: 3/4
Exten: 4/3
ARB: 4/4
Camber: 0.1/0.0
Toe: -.05/.07
Brakes: 5/3
LSD: 8/19/11
Wing: 250/450
Ballast: 10, -10 (to the front)
Auto set trans at 211mph
1st: 2.115
2nd: 1.425
3rd: 1.058
4th: 0.830
Final: 3.090

Good luck!

Thank you for taking the time from your busy day to respond to my request. I hope to be able to help you someday!! I will get back to you if I win or not. If I make any changes to your tune I will share them with you. Have a great and “Happy New Year”.

Using a revised tune for my Ford GT LM Spec II Race Car, I've smashed a slow field with a time of 24:51.017.:)
The Ford GT LM Spec II does a quite respectable job of slicing thru the field on the Death Valley track. I used a pit strategy of RH tires for 4 laps, RM tires for 3 laps, and then RM tires again for the last 3 laps. My best lap was a 2:18.492.

Using a slightly revised tune for my 2012 Deltawing, I've gone even quicker posting a 45 second win:

Driving the Deltawing takes some getting used to, and it doesn't have the speed to pass the other cars with ease when you catch up with them, but its lap times are consistently fast and it doesn't need a pit stop during the 10 lap race so you pass a bunch of the fast cars while they are stationary:):)

My current tune for the 2012 Deltawing is as follows:

Ride: 30/60
Springs: 3.6/14.1
Comp: 3/4
Exten: 3/4
ARB: 1/3
Camber: .2/.1
Toe: -.03/-.03
Brakes: 4/5
LSD: 8/24/10
Auto trans @ 205mph
Wing: 438/1240
Ballast: 85, +5 (to the rear)
P.Limiter: 87.6%

Wow, you're much faster than I am. What are your lap times like in the Deltawing? I can't get better than 3rd with this. I may have to buy the vacuum cleaner after all :(

Thanks for the setup though!

So what's this deal with only getting paid once? Is there any explanation for this? I know it's always been that way on the 'super lap' seasonals, but never on the races. What gives?
Wait, so you can get paid more than once on some seasonals? I'm new to GT6, could you point out any that are up right now? Thx

Two pitstops, lap 3 and 6. Start on RM, then RM with a short fill of 44 liters, end on RH with the fuel allocated.

I spent way too much time trying to win this with the Deltawing. That car must not agree with me AT ALL.

1st attempt with this Corvette: I screwed up the pit stops, had to make an extra one and still managed 6th
2nd Attempt: Victory! :)

Thank you so much Dotini and Motor City Hami! I was beginning to hate this game. What a great car to drive for this event! Premium Car, Cost 264k, Fun to drive!!! Best of all, I still haven't had to purchase a 2J Chap-Vac.

My lap times are averaging around 2 minutes and 25 seconds each lap with the DeltaWing.

I just re-ran the race and had the following lap times:
Lap 1: 2:27.435
Lap 2: 2:27.461
Lap 3: 2:25.544
Lap 4: 2:23.887
Lap 5: 2:25.526
Lap 6: 2:23.893
Lap 7: 2:24.192
Lap 8: 2:28.883
Lap 9: 2:23.638
Lap 10:2:24.612

And the overall race time was 24:43.937.:) giving me the win by just over 60 seconds!!:) I will post a picture when I can.

Lap # 8 was marred by a penalty that I incurred:dopey::irked::grumpy: while driving slightly too aggressively, but the rest of the race went pretty well.

Impressive! I don't remember getting <2:30. I tried a plethora of weight/power/tire combinations as well.
It's a unique car and I'm glad that I tried it. Maybe I'll learn to drive it one day.

It used to be, even since GT5, that you would get paid as many times as you ran the 'race' seasonals. People called it 'grinding for dollars'. The 'time trial' seasonals have always been one payout only.

Apparently now they are applying this concept to the race seasonals, which is rather annoying, and another example of the seasonals' continual decline since the glory days of GT5 when they were great.

Guys I have some info for you. If you wish to try the 2X, you should place the engine power at around 72%, and add 200kg weight in front of the vehicule. This brings the pp to 620. Even at 720 PP, The darn thing was clocked at 410 kph mx on the nordschleife straight, while Bobbing the race in dream car championship.

No, the car stays at 722 pp with only 72%, if brought to 50% 680

Don't know how many others have used the Tomahawk S but when I'm not driving poorly can average 2:16's on RHs. Its still a 2 stopper for tires but I'm pretty sure I could 1 stop it if I tried. Fuel wise, its a sipper and easily 1 stop the race.

Someone please help me:banghead:. I have run this race 12 times with 6 different cars; 2J, 2D, Viper ACR, Z06 Race Car and the Ford Mark IV. The best I've finished is 7th and that was with the 2J. It's like I'm competing with cars that have twice the HP I do. By my first pit stop on lap 5, I'm already close to 40 sec. behind. My lap times are 2:27-2:34 depending on the car. I ran a 4.30 final gear in the 2J with the stock transmission to get that. Thanks in advance for any help.

Read my post on page 6, priano tune of 2J will make it possible. But you also have to drive it more agressively on this track too. 2:20 per lap will give you a victory here.

Sorry for the delayed response, haven't gotten on the site...now it's pretty late at night...

I'll post the setup I use tomorrow night. My laps were in the 2:17.xx range, so it's plenty capable even holding back a little. The Priano tunes are always very good, but I do my own too. Everyone likes a slightly different feel.

Racing hard, now i get it, not sure why that is better than soft unless they last longer, that must be it.

What set up?

I posted above but it didn't include your quote, lol. So I did it manually.

How do you get it to 620pp?
I was already close to 5000 km so I ran it a "few" more km past an oil change. The weird part is driving it with drag reduction on the whole time and releasing it for the extra down force when you are about to kiss an invisible wall.

I've tried to complete this race twice now, and both times the game crashes between the finish screen and the payout screen.

How many of you guys are having the same problem? Maybe it became an issue when the second set of seasonals came along?

Cobra Coupe '64 really smooth drive, especially after the Red Devil . One bad crash trying to get into pits and blocked. RH x 3

Clean race. No penalties. Tune by Motor City Hami. Fast lap2:21. Started on RM went into the pits on lap 3 in P5. Took 45 liters fuel. Went back out on P10. Went back into the pits on lap 6 in P1. Took full fuel and RH. Went back out in P9. Wining margin over SRT Viper 0.604.

Sounds to me like you need to find some time on the track. The times you posted if you used a Z06 are way too slow. That car is easily capable of low 20s. So try and learn the track better.

Used the Saleen S7 '02 for a couple of wins:

I seem to like 25:20.xxx races!:) The Saleen is very fast in a straight-line but is somewhat challenged by the corners. My best lap was a 2:18.388. I will try again and try to find more pace.
:cheers:GTsail
