I can win first with a stock Zonda in the first two races. I switched to a high aero tuned one and I just cant get past people on the nurburgring, if i could I'd win. Cape Ring I always make some stupid mistake or the other

I'd be surprised if a GT-R could handle those LMPs. Don't think you can keep up with the massive downforce LMPs have.

Lol...I tried the first race and through the bends I'm ok and could fight for third but man on the straights I ain't got a scoobs chance

Zonda R '09 **

B-Spc Bob won it for me in another Race , then I tuned it put Super Softs on and wiped the floor with the Championship :)

**sidenote get Ear Plugs - the Zonda R with a Full Tune sounds like a Vaccum cleaner its Horrible :yuck:

Yeah, for such an incredibly fast car, it could use a trip to the sound doctor.

Just this second finished it in 1st with the ZR-1. Stupidly easy, but I span off on the Nurburgring and placed 3rd in that event.
What kind of max speeds were you going with, quick tune settings, and tires if you don't mind me asking? I'v heard a number of people pulling it off with the ZR1. I understand that they very between tracks.
didn't even manage 2 mill in a descent farming session this afternoon. 4 mill for a 908 seems over the top to me.

I know it can be done with the ZR1-RM. I have golded the first two races and bronzed the 4th on Cape Ring so far. All today. Funny thing is practice seems to make king because last week I didn't stand a chance in the two races I golded fairly easily today.

My biggest problem is the Nurburg ring. I have to go race around it with the ZR1 in practice mode until I know the track well enough to not spin out for no good reason.

yeah man, horsepower is not your friend on the nurburg, and 888 maxed on the zr1isnt easy with no driving aids on except 1abs

Used a maxed out Veyron and won every race (they weren't far behind but I was never in danger of losing). It was sort of a boring point an shoot affair as no amount of reasonable suspension tweaks keep the Veyron from feeling like a tank but it was so much faster accelerating than the other cars that I could pull away off the apex and put a second on them almost instantly if they got close. Nurburgring was a bear and if I do it again, I'm definitely doing something about the spring rate on that track as I was bouncing all over the place.

Just out of curiosity and to prevent me from starting a new topic, did anyone manage to win this championship using the Minolta without any driving aids?

As I'm finding it really difficult to drive, but dont want to give in.

I used formula gt. I think any c-class car should do it, especially with the hp advantage. Stealth Mercedes, minolta, and formula GT are the 3 must own cars.

Don't feel bad for using driving aids if you need to. I had to turn TCS to 2 and ASM on to control my 908 with a controller. Almost 900 hp is a little too much to rely on my finger's pressure level.

Use the furai to complete "Like the wind" event to win toyota minolta. You then clear all stars (and many other events) without a problem.

Bingo! I used the Zonda R for the Indy portion then the Furai for the Daytona road course. I was able to get the Human Stop Watch trohpy too, while doing the Indy race.
BOOSH! Minolta in my garage :)

This was one of those rare cases where the prize cars actually helped me progress!

Finally beat the All Stars event with the Minolta(no driving aids). Damn it, I don't know why this event was so difficult, but it was. I figured if I enter in and out of the event and waited to see which cars raced me that were not as powerfull/better handling than the Minolta that'd help, and it did, but freakin' Nurbur is always dificult. Even with the Minolta, I lost control a few times at Nurbur, coming out of the track and pushing me back at the end to 3rd place. Got gold overall though.. Ended up with (1,1,3,1,1).

I took silver for the series in my Corvette. Would have been gold if the damn AI hadn't spun me out on Nur. ACK!

Lost to the Minolta by 25 points, IIRC.

Finally managed to do this one last night after further modding my Nissan GT500 Stealth car. I was running it with Stage 1 Turbo, and soft racing tyres, so it was running around 645bhp. First couple of races were not much of a problem, but Nurburgring, Cape Ring and Tokyo were absolutly impossible.

So I bolted on the stage 3 turbo which pushed it up to around 750bhp and ran it all again -> Gold, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Bronze, won the championship by 5 points !! Must admit I had a couple of spins on the 3 later races, so Im planning on going back again tonight and redoing it to gold them up

I tried a few times with the McLaren MP4 and got owned so I just left it. Ended up getting the Formula GT and realized I'd forgotten to gold that championship. Won easily of course.

Oh yeah, still haven't managed bronze on Nurburgring in this one. I always make that one mistake that sends me flying, or they knock me off the track. I think Nurburg is probably the best track on the game. Not very repetitive and I noticed that you can't really look at the map too often to see what's ahead. Mostly a reaction-based map.

I was able to finish 1,1,2,1,4 for the win, with the Veyron mainly because the Courage car was the main competition. There's no way I could have beaten the 787b or minolta with that lumbering beast.

The ring is a tough one to master, I've run at least 300 laps on it and I still haven't memorized it. I find myself unneccesarally slowing down because the track looks the same in many areas. Very frustrating to learn 13 miles of tight bumpy German highway!

I'm trying to win this championship in the worst car my ability lets me. First of all I tried it in the Imprezza GT race car and lost the championship at the final race because the straight line speed was so poor... I've since won it easily using the RM Corvette with about 700hp so I'm thinking of trying of the Nomad Lamborghini which has 600hp so it might just make the difference at Tokyo where power is king.

I think I can do it with the Mazda Furai but it has to be tuned specifically for each track. I golded the first two even though I spun out on the first corner of the second track, I wiped out on my own on the Nurburgring and never recovered because I didn't have the downforce. Cape ring and Tokyo are tough because the Furai tends to understeer on the fast corners and I can't seem to fix it, it may be because I have the brake bias towards the front.

If I can't figure it out I'll go get the Minolta.

I won it with the Veyron, lowered the car a bit. The key is slow and steady with the Veyron in turns, straighten out before accelerating. You can typically get to 1st place right from the start with its fantastic acceleration.
It is a heavy beast and you must take care of it while racing, its easy to send it into the grass/sand.
I won at the Nurburgring by 20 seconds, I love that track.

Now onto the Historic Race Car races..... gonna try my Camaro on it once I do the RM to it.

I have the Toyota Minolta 88-cv Race Car and the peugeot 908.

Maybe it's me but I can't handle those cars, and I'm not good enough to tune them. I would like a tune or maybe hints to how to control those beast. If you have a good tune please share it. (in details please)

I beat it with a maxed out Veyron. I just emphasized its strong point: Explosive acceleration.

I slowed down a lot for corners and late-apexed nearly every one to get the most acceleration time possible.
