I busted out the Astra Touring Car (Opal Team Phenoix) and drove with my eyes closed (slight exaggeration!!!!), and still won them all by at least 15 seconds. Seroiusly, I haven't picked up Grand Turismo since the first day of the last online race event, so it's been 2 weeks since I last played. My lines were nowhere near clean. I even managed to slide into the quick S-turn at the end of the long straight on the Nurburgring GP/F. I agree with prevoius posts. The whole set is going to be a cash cow. I did not tune the car. My prize was a Mugen NSX.

Yeh, easy again. But hey, made a video because I always do :)

These were seriously easy. It took me a few trys but I just won the nurburgring race with a bone stock Mercedes Benz 190 E 2.5-16 with 482pp after the race I got over 2.6 million!!!

An opportunity for a $3.38+ million race day! :D

This is just too easy!

Won all first try with a stock CLK, taking the lead at end of 3rd or beginning of 4th lap (2nd lap just before loop at cape) and finishing 10 secs or more in front for every race, prize was a McLaren F1 '94.

this one IS all about the cash.

I won another german touring car..... :(

After all, that's what it's really all about, having some fun.
It's not just to satisfy the better players all the time or every time.

The powers that be know all about the private races etc which take place which many of the better drivers attend, and good on them. But these races are clearly not designed for the better drivers, unless they require a top up of course.

So I suggest we stop putting ourselves above those who race here

Chase the rabbit : no fun.
SRF forced on : no fun.

"...we stop..." : I assume you're talking to yourself. I haven't seen a post in this thread showing a hint of superiority.

Eifel Track looks like Bathurst Circuit!

Hate to bust your gumnut tree:crazy: but Bathurst goes up and down the side of a mountain (Mount Panorama). Cannot wait for Bathurst to be added to GT5 thou:tup:

I'll say any posts that use the phrase "too easy" or indicate how many credits or low pp they used are more than a hint. These races seem OK from a challenge level, for regular DS3 users.

Here are some lap times needed to beat:

Madrid 1:26.8
Cape Ring 2:43.2
Eifel 1:48.1
Laguna Seca 1:29.5
Nurb 2:05.9

I admit being a hack, only 2 golds, 2 bronze and a silver first time through, using the Lexus with Avid tune. That Eifel track has too many blind cresting turns.

This was easy. It's good for taking easy money thou...

I can see how those statements might be construed that way. When I read them However, I only got a feeling of frustration, not superiority from those posting.

Knowing that it is possible to have some really good, non chase the rabbit, grid start RACES, I'm frustrated with the format of the seasonals. Then force SRF on while calling them "expert" is loosing me. Why "force" those of us that hate SRF to sit on the sidelines?

You enjoy them and that really is a good thing. With some minor adjustments to the seasonals, more of us can enjoy them.

Which is the best car for these?
I wanna try and cut PP and see how low I can go

I found a tune for the 92' but not 91.
Big difference between the two cars?
One is not a touring car. All I did with the touring car is reduce rear downforce to minimum, oil change, increase front rebound dampening and rear compression dampening to 9, tranny trick to track, and reduce engine output to between 280hp and 305hp, depending on track. pp well under 450

1.635.871 (200% Bonus)

190 E 2.5-16 Evo II TC '92 (506PP)

;)

Cr. 2.213.143 (Nur GP/F) (200%)

That's funny because I certainly did.

I will be skipping this and future Seasonal events until they learn to make SRF optional. With SRF forced on, its just another arcade racer to me and thats not what I bought the game for. I really don't like the direction the game is headed so I'll just stick to WRS TT's and Seasonal time trials until they do something stupid to those (Seasonal TT'S) too. ++++

++ "its just another arcade racer to me" ++

I see that remark as someone clearly and distinctly stating they are far too superior a driver to be bothered with these races.

And when I said 'we' I was referring to the GTP community as a whole.

And as has been pointed out, there is a thread dedicated to Seasonals where SRF is set to on only. One shouldn't feel the need to vent their spleen on this thread and rehash all that old stuff. If one doesn't want to do these races just don't do them, simple.

I did one to top up my $balance but am still too busy with the Spa and Tsukuba TT's to do any more at the moment.

Happy racing everyone.

I know right? They can't even make it optional or what?

It's cause we write posts about it. If no-one mentioned it, I'm sure SRF would go away,

Pretty pleased by the easy credit farming. 1.2mill or more each race is pretty nice.

Not much left to say about the forced SRF, but I have another perspective to look at it all.

What if, by some chance, PD is testing either their trolling skills or psychology skills, and this time around, SRF isn't really on at all, and it is all making us think we can do better, so we do? Boy, that will be the day...

It is a nice farm on Nur GP/F, 2.2M each race with Evo II TC '92
People just need to make 5 races with SRF, too much drama I think but anyway... It makes people annoyed when SRF cannot be turned off.
Well, we may have to stop complaining so they may reconsider on next seasonals... just saying!

one easy seasonal event, good for beginners who want to try some challenging races.
(correct me if i am wrong) :)

No correction required. There will be many people who really enjoy this series, all the while building up the bank balance.

i agree, this is one of the best way to earn money :sly:

(hey, what car did you use to beat this seasonal event? I used my Opel Astra Touring Car :) )

I used my Evo II TC '92 however I only did the Cape Ring race so far.

Still looking for a better time in the TT at the Spa.

nice

I'm using my '09 Audi R8(playstation), nice car that allows me to mix it with the AI for a while then put the hammer down to win.
Will try the 190E though as it seems a better car.
Love these forums where you can share different cars and setups but its annoying when the same topic keeps reSuRFacing over and over again.
Build a bridge and get over it already!!!

Jip, this is the official description: Audi R8 LMS Race Car (Team PlayStation) '09
I had 2 or 3 in my garage so specced one up and it works great. Will try it standard but its quick so don't see it being a problem.

Anybody use the Nurburgring chicane cut yet? Sure you could get away with a 400PP car and get +3million credits.
Added a pic of the car off google.

Used the Merc 190E @ 490pp for very easy wins in all races, this one will be a cash cow for anyone that needs fast money.
