That's funny because I certainly did.

++++ GTP_CargoRat Time Trial Warrior
I will be skipping this and future Seasonal events until they learn to make SRF optional. With SRF forced on, its just another arcade racer to me and thats not what I bought the game for. I really don't like the direction the game is headed so I'll just stick to WRS TT's and Seasonal time trials until they do something stupid to those (Seasonal TT'S) too. ++++

++ "its just another arcade racer to me" ++

I see that remark as someone clearly and distinctly stating they are far too superior a driver to be bothered with these races.

And when I said 'we' I was referring to the GTP community as a whole.

And as has been pointed out, there is a thread dedicated to Seasonals where SRF is set to on only. One shouldn't feel the need to vent their spleen on this thread and rehash all that old stuff. If one doesn't want to do these races just don't do them, simple.

I did one to top up my $balance but am still too busy with the Spa and Tsukuba TT's to do any more at the moment.

Happy racing everyone.

There you go again twisting my words around to suit your needs. Let me make it simple for you. I NEVER said I was an elite driver or better than anyone else. What I did say was that they need to stop forcing SRF on as I do not want to use it. So please Mr. Dalone, how does that make me an elitist or anything else you choose to call me just for the simple fact that I don't want SRF forced on. Just another attempt at picking a fight with me I presume. Or maybe still bitter over that ass kicking I gave you after running your mouth for two weeks. Whatever it is, just let it go man, let it go.

Welcome to the internet, where everyone wants to twist words and tell lies
Oh and Cargo _Rat,ignore him he is just a troll

Exactly, just because someone doesn't want to race with SRF on, does not mean they are on their high horse and trying to be superior, it's just a matter of preference.

If anything, I'd say a certain someone is showing a bit of an inferiority complex. If you're mad because someone is faster, then practice more until you can beat them, rather than using every opportunity to pick a fight. That ain't no victory otherwise.

On topic, if you've just emptied your bank balance, you can almost fully replenish it by doing each race once at 425PP. I earnt around 19 million IIRC = about 15 million for just over half an hour.

I agree with Hamilton, when someone is faster, the other people (12 years specifically) will be like "OMG HE IS HACKING HOW IS HE SO FAST OMG OMG OMG!!!!!" Seriously, durrr(correct me if i am wrong)

Thank you. For two weeks he busted my chops about how he was going to give me a real ass whipping and when I turn the tables around on him, he gets bitter and takes any shot st me he can. Dalone, take your ass whippings like a man, I didn't ask for it, you did by running your mouth and everyone here knows it so you can stop the serade now. Games over, you lose.

Your original comment is condescending, when you figure out how to make your preference known, without implying that those who don't share your preference somehow are relying on 'training wheels', then you'll shut the door to the criticism you've received.

How is this not a violation of the TOS?

Easier said than done. As you said 440PP was so easy I went straight for 430PP on Madrid. I had to back off to 442PP for a more reasonable starting point, and may have to raise my target to ~435PP for all tracks, we shall see.

I'm sure it would be of help to more than me if you could
a)post your tune, even if it's rough
b)explain the general logic or fair assumptions behind the most significant of the adjustments you made from the default suspension

Thanks (or Thanks anyways) in advance.

See, now there you go joining in on the party. I have always said that if you want to run with the training wheels on, (as I affectionately call them) then thats on you. But don't lock them on so I have to use them also. Thats not how I prefer to drive and in my opinion, just turns the game into an arcade style racer. When I call them training wheels. it is more or less just joking around, not meant to hurt anyone's feelings here.

So, don't come in here using what I say making it look like I look down on people who use SRF. That is not the case but nice try anyway.

Also, why is it that you feel the need to add stuff to my posts? (The blue part) Thats so nice that you know what I'm thinking and can speak for me. In the future, might I suggest leaving your mind reading out of my posts. Thanks.

He's a space alien driver who posts lots of utube videos (theres a link in the 550pp lambo challenge) doing outrageous things with or without tunes. He tends to use no/minimal driving aids.

You keep threatening to take your ball away and go home, yet you never seem to follow through and go home.

Clearly PD has made the determination that the self-identified hardcore purists AREN'T the demo that they're worried about pursuing. I have to believe that they've heard your complaints and have elected to ignore your 'threats'.

Training wheels, indeed.

CargoRat replying to criticism of his NASCAR tune, 9 Nov 2011;

++++Alright, first off I'm not some 5 year old and I don't need you to talk down to me like your tone insists. I appreciate your feedback which I did indeed ask for. I wasn't trying to disrespect you in any way. I was only getting down on myself because I am so competitive and I do want to learn this whole road course tuning thing. Ken knows me pretty well so he knows how I am. Him and I had our own falling out in the beginning, but as I am sure he will tell you, once you get to know me, you will see that I never try to disrespect anyone. My words may be harsh or even rude at times, but its never meant to be taken personally. So, once more, I appreciate your detailed feedback, but please don't talk to me like I'm 5. My 'dumb' comments were just a figure of speech. I don't need a sermon on how to act. Thanks.+++

Quote, "My words may be harsh or even rude at times, but it's never meant to be taken personally."

"My 'dumb' comments were just a figure of speech."

I believe Cargo that you were the only person on GTP to see my remark about an 'arse whipping' being anything other than just friendly banter.

But you have a history here of taking criticism poorly, which you felt compelled to admit recently (NASCAR at the Spa), as you knew others could easily check it.

Most of us know you are a better than average racer,( why, you are still over 1/2 second ahead of me at the Spa, last time I looked, ha ha) but comparing these Seasonals to an arcade game clearly shows you feel superior to, even contemptuous, of those who enjoy them.

That IS disrespectful.

And not all may not see your "dumb comments" in the manner you intend.

lol.... 1st at 3/5 lap
Well seems I can lower the 479pp more...v -19.802

I compare SRF to an arcade type of gameplay, and it has nothing to do with superiority or whatever word you want to attach it to. It has to do with the fact that it removes 90% of tuning from the equation and also removes about 80% of driver skill from the equation.
Is that a bad thing? That's for each person to decide. But that's not an opinion I formulated because my driving skill, or lack there of, is at X level. It's based on simulation games I've played, as well as arcade games I've played. When SRF is on, I'm not playing iRacing, I'm playing Need For Speed games, or the old RUSH games.

I loved those games, there's nothing wrong with being an 'arcade game' so why people get so offended by that, is beyond me. But people who think that SRF is more 'realistic' that's just a joke, or a statement from a very uneducated or unexperienced racer and/or gamer.

Now... back on to topic.

I needed some cash after spending my bank on a car, the only use I find for SRF seasonals, is to make money. (Which is why when I'm capped exp/credits I don't touch them) BUT... since SRF is on, I consider it an 'anything goes' event. Just ran the Nurb Track, in the Mercedes Benz 190 car, at 420pp and won the race by 5 seconds, for 3,633,520 credits, in about 6 minutes. The car handles like garbage if you ask me, but SRF negates that, so I just hacked the suspension into oblivion, yanked the ebrake, exaggerated wheel input and slammed the gas for the win!

Oh, I know he's an alien, but no matter how much time you spend hanging around with E.T. you just won't be ready for it when he decides to make your bike fly.

Speaking of the Lambo seasonal, that thread's 45 pages/ 800+ posts long now.

What are the rules on swearing here? Where are the rules at all? I didn't see where to find them.

Thank you.

I rest my case.

I would add for those interested that I hardly race in the online races at all these days, and it has been a while since my last go as most of my time driving is in the TT's where SRF is forbidden.

However if I need some cash quickly I do these type Seasonals, and just accept the rules.

I also sometimes do these Seasonals just for the sheer fun of them, and I still get a smile on my dial remembering the Lambo races a while back. Great fun watching them crashing into each other, while trying to avoid the carnage, not to mention those sweeping curves.

I've run these on Sport Softs. With SRF on there's more than enough grip. Also if you turn off ABS, the cars will rotate much better. B/B of 4/1 was fine.

There's no rule that says you have to run the best tire available.

I am driving kind of tired tonight so have kind of clumbsy thumbs on the DS3. Did I really just easily beat Madrid and Laguna Seca with a 190E at 500PP? How low do I need to go to make this challenging?

Well I was up to the challenge, pretty much anyway, used the same Merc 190 but at a little higher PP to start, 435PP. Won $3,385,780.........exp 327,180.

That was at 282hp, no ballast and 980kg.

Not sure I can do it at 420PP with my tuning skills, think all I changed from stock was height and LSD, anyway I'll have a go.

But I vehemently disagree with Adrenaline regarding the capability of this car. It sticks like glue to the road and is very forgiving.
