Played this solidly over alternate PSN accounts over the past two days. The freemium model is a double edged sword and it's funny how they haven't even made campaign missions beyond #6

For those who haven't played the game yet and would like to keep this game as a purely free to play one do NOT do the campaign first. Accept challenges and prioritize the challenges that give you the mercenary contract (for more $$$) and gifts (such as aircraft, stocked fuel and limited run items).

When it comes to challenges that require you to buy aircraft only accept and complete those that will unlock the path to the aircraft you want to eventually get your hands on (I've only unlocked the F-16C in my primary account as this will eventually lead to either the F-22 or the F-35 as opposed to the other 2 branches at the start of the aircraft tree that only lead up to one high-tech fighter). The rest of the game should be easy to pick up so enjoy it while you're at it!

In other news I've done the Moby Dick Pursuit mission so much that I've unlocked the White Service Medal emblem :O

If any members here not on my PSN list yet who wanted more wing-men feel free to add me :D

I just got the F-14A Zipang from item drop today, I'll use it soon when I arrive to home from my job.

I got my Zipang also. And according to the Event rankings, I'm like 1670 last I checked, so I should be getting the 1000-5000 ranked awards.

It helps to get like 5 MVPs straight though. I don't think I'll ever retire my Super Hornet. I also managed to get in on Moby Dick II and suffice to say it pays out a lot.

Just watched mission 3-5 on YouTube. Such a simple and obvious life-hack that I didn't think of earlier!

The only AC games I've played from start to finish are 4,5 and Zero but based on what this game is shaping out to be so far it's not a brand new creation but more of a greatest hits remake. Makes you wonder what they're up to for the next-gen consoles...

Got Zipang as well.

Is funny, I always go with the MiG-29 and do quite badly, then switch to the Mig-21 and start mvp every match.

Ranking 5670th ATM, though is more due to time constrains and the 🤬 PS4 dying on me.

@Akira AC Wait your PS4 or PS3 dying? Either way you have my condolences.
PS4, it was one of the faulty units but I didn't use it as much.

Just beating Watch_Dogs, it died on me on the credits video. Not too bothered by it right now, but it certainly pisses me off that the whole unit has to be replaced because of the stupid PSU integrated to it, unlike the 360's power brick outside it (that, and at least the 360 lasted longer before it died on me, and I used it way more).

Well at least the PS4 still has that warranty. Personally, I hate power bricks, makes the whole thing feel like an afterthought.

I haven't gotten the Zipang yet; I'll continue working on it though. Last I checked earlier today I was ranking about 2000th.

As for multipurpose, I think I'm going to stick with the hornet for a while. And even though the F-35 is apparently the best, I rather work towards the Rafale because I pretty much hate the F-35. Don't judge me lol.

No I hate it too. It's ugly, and in real life, a waste of expenditure imo.

More cost effective than the F-22 according to bean counter though ;)

Really wish they had the F-15S/MTD in this game since that is my all-time favorite aircraft ever.

I've got a feeling this plane will be available in an update, possibly as one of the limited edition planes thar you get through crate drops or challenges.

Finally got to fly with some people from here and boy is it worth it I got almost 3k extra for it in credits and since I was using my 3x fuel thing it turned into a 30k payday for 5 minutes of flying  epic. Good flying with you Louie and RACECAR

Need some people to sortie with on here. The Unlimited Campaign ticket is good, especially on the Far Eastern Front challenge, which gives 20 stocked fuels! My ultimate objective is to earn PAK-FA T-50 Stealth Fighter (I really hate the F-22 & F-35, why call them stealth fighters?). Anyone up for sortying tomorrow?

Because the F-22 is the first production stealthy fighter, with the F-35 being second. Unless you mean in-game, then I dunno. Though, no one outside of Russia knows how stealthy the T-50 is, though many non Russian aerospace analysts doubt the T-50 will be as stealthy as the F-22. Many compare it to the F-35 in terms of stealth, same for the J-20.

Speaking of the J-20, it would be cool to have that in ACI. Along with the YF-23, which I suspect they will add eventually. Also would like to see an F-14D, because F110 exhaust nozzles are sexier than them TF30 nozzles...

And I did not think it would be so expensive to do a level 6 upgrade to my Harrier. Over 300k credits, which sadly I lack -_____-
Also unlocked the first bonus F-14A scheme, along with the F-14A Zipang, which is oh so sexy.

Is anyone else getting the game telling you that you already have the F14A-Zipang and awarding you credits/stocked fuel instead? I don't have the Zipang, but the game tells me I do in the random drops when I should be getting it.:odd: I made the mistake of spending $200k on campaign mission 3 and THEN buying the campaign ticket.:ouch::dunce: I'm REALLY regretting it.

Actually the F-35 is the most expensive program ever undertaken by the US, and it frequently experiences problems and delays. The F-22 at least was delivered as promised with few issues here and there.

And my ranking as of 6 hours ago is 1270. I expect that to drop around the 3000s when I get back into it. I know its going to drop even more considering it's the weekend.

The F-35 JSF you mean? Our allies like Australia if i'm not mistaken have criticised the program and the jet altogether, comparing to the Fourth gen Sukhoi Su-35, and they preferred the Sukhoi over the Lockheed. I'm not sure if our Allies are crazy, but who knows.

They prefer the Sukhoi because of the bargain bin price it comes in at, and the sexy moves it can produce. But in reality, it's the pilot who makes the plane. Hell I've scene on forums that had shown gun cam pictures of Super Hornets shooting down F-22's in combat training.

The proponents that keep talking up the F-35 keep saying "oh our future enemies we'll be fighting will be the Chinese and the Russians", but last I checked we are so tied to them in the global economy that any of us going to war with another superpower is financial suicide.

While I am not much of a fan of the F-35 myself (irl anyway), it does have a couple strong points. Namely the avionics package, which is quite impressive, along with it's F135 engine. But, the problem with the plane is trying to do too much with one airframe. But really, it would have been more wise to make 3 separate designs than to cram it all into one. Would have been cheaper too lol...

Anyway F-14 4 lyfe.

Weird, I thought they made three separate variants (one of which is the S/VTOL).

Yes, but they are all based off of the same basic airframe design. In theory, this is supposed to cut costs by having common parts between all models, but in practice... well lol... Trying to cram so much into one basic design is asking for trouble, both engineering wise and cost wise. But many of the F-35's issues stem from the USMC F-35B version, which is the STOVL model. The Navy's CATOBAR F-35C also has its share of issues, mainly stemming from the arrestor hook design. The USAF's F-35A has seen the fewest issues of the trio.
Honestly, I think if you make a great fighter, it can be converted into a good attacker/strike aircraft (F-15E Strike Eagle and F-14D Super Tomcat are two of the best examples).

I've never been fond of VTOL jets. On ACI they tend to stall alot under slight braking, like the Harrier jet.
Anyway, is it wrong to be one of the top scorers in the MiG-29A, because that happend to me in Dubai.

No, the Mig-29 is actually very underrated in this game.

I see why it's underrated in the game, it just feels very underpowered in mobility and speed to my ability. I guess i'm used to the F-16F, a spectacular multi-role jet.

I haven't gotten on in days and it sounds like I'm missing good stuff! Should get together with some of you when I can get back in.

Been having a lot of fun with game, can't stop flying the F-16C. :D That "Moby Dick" mission is tough, closest any team I've been on has got is getting to the engines with 10 seconds left. I wish we had the option for longer missions too .

Don't mean to ask a possibly already asked question, but does anyone know when the next campaign mission will be released?

Try finding some guys with high player scores, probably a given they are stupid good and they will most likely know exactly what to do. I usually get the mission completed between 1:00 and 2:30 minutes left on the clock.
