It is a little odd, especially with challenges giving you fuel as well. Offers a lot more play-time than I had thought originally.

On a side note, that AI is impressive! The SP opposition is really not missile-friendly, they perform some pretty interesting maneuvers. I'm not that good at advanced maneuvers but I still get anywhere from 20,000 to 35,000 points which is good enough for me!

Oh and Dubai and the Alps are beautiful.

Yeah Downhill I retract my statement about the fuel system being whack. The challenges actually keep giving me fuel and I keep getting fuel drops. I currently have 34 stocked fuel to play with. Can't wait until I unlock the F/A-18F!:mischievous:

To be honest I have no idea what I'm doing specifically to help you. All I'm doing is the challenges, and winning matches here and there. I have yet to get an MVP mind you, nor am I scoring as high as you are.

That's very odd. I wonder if it rewards you more if you don't do as well as other players in the sortie?

I was playing the game with my brother and he ended up with more fuel than I as well. We started playing game at the same time and had done the same amount of misions, however he didn't average as high scores and was frequently on the opposite team. I believe we did the same exact challenges as well. Yet he had 4 or 5 left when I ran out.

Or maybe that's all bull:censored: and it's all luck of the draw with the drops.

I like the way the game has been improved since the beta (except the money milking fuel system). I got back to my old F-14A and have been scoring average 20k+ points. The best part for me in the game is Dubai, watching missles flying in the dark is great. I wonder what it takes to get the ADFX-01 (Probably not easy).

Maybe it is just down to luck.

Hey Bobert! :) There's a challenge for unlocking it and it says you must do 30 sortie matches when it's active. There's also an acquisition challenge.

Isn't the F-14 great? It was the best plane in the beta after all!

I'm downloading the game as we speak. Didn't get much time I nthe demo unfortunately before it got pulled, but still looking forward to the full game.

I love the F-14! I read the skill tree earlier and the next jet after the F-14 is the Eurofighter Typhoon, one of my favorite jets. Also, what is an acquisition challenge?

You'll find that some challenges say you must purchase a specific plane to get an award. The F-14, for example, has a challenge that asks you to acquire it and you are then given a special emblem and I believe some credits but mainly the emblem.

Not much of a challenge. They probably should do come categorizing and make another one called 'tasks' or 'objectives'.

Next jet after the F-14 is actually the F/A-18F.

Strange that the F-14A model made the cut but not the F-14D, but alas with F2P comes DLC.

Speaking of F-14s, I went and got all nerdy and did some internet surfing of the F-14 and I think it may have gotten too much rep from Top Gun and the limited engagements it saw compared to what the daddy F4 Phantom saw in 'Nam. Desert Storm doesn't count because the Iraqis had a better chance at Ace Combat than the real deal. Vietnam actually had aces on their wings.

For all the flack fighter nerds give the F/A-18 series, dollar for dollar, pound for pound, it is way more capable and efficient in accomplishing its goals. In fact I think the F-35 is something that our navy does not need either, certainly seeing that sea salt is one of the most abrasive things out there and we don't fight sophisticated armed forces, at least not in for the foreseeable future. The few things the F-14 had over the 18 was that it was a sexy beast and it could fly farther and faster.

Now I feel I may get wrecked by the more educated fighter plane aficionados.:D

BTW do read those challenges and do recover those challenges prices. Basically it keeps adding more basic challenges to keep working on and on and on, I still have a couple of original fuel drops from last week and I play like 10 sorties daily (even when Watch Dogs came around).

Take this advice, and take it at heart, BUY THE UNLIMITED CAMPAIGN TICKET, money is hard to come by in later stages of the aircraft tree and the amount of unlocking a mission after 2 is ridiculous (200000 for M3, 400000 for M4 and so on), so it would be a very very good idea if you did that, it gives you free campaign access without they Cr. paywall nonsense and you are better off expending that money on parts-aircraft research to open more parts-planes trees, aside that, the campaign is a nostalgia trip and if you love older ones you will love this one.

I got my hands completely full at the moment, but once I get some time we should organize a joint group, as time passes you will find that making a team to score S is pretty hard, and a basic degree and strategy is required.

Glad to see other AC fans - players enjoying the nostalgia trip, is something that was really lacking in the last few years of gaming (from my point of view, couldn't care less about Buggerfield 4, I want to see more awesome campaign).

Given how fun this game is, it makes me wonder why the console flight genre isn't exactly popular. PC flight games are usually hardcore sims, rather than fast paced arcade style games like Ace Combat...

Just downloaded this today and I am pretty impressed so far. I mean I am only 2 online and campain sorties in but I am liking what I am seeing so far. If anyone wants to do a group I am definitely down for something PSN - Frizbe

Oh dear. After reading all the comments this looks like so much fun! Too bad I've got my hands full with assignments over the next week and a half #firstworldproblems :(

Yeah Akira I bought the unlimited campaign ticket . I hope they release more mission frequently.

My only gripe so far is that all the missions are too short, and no landings and take off.

They are designed to be like 6 minutes in length, though they are so well packed that time flies (no pun intended) when you play them.

I can't wait for the 1st to come around and be able to purchase the campaign ticket, the last mission is nuts, soundtrack and all.

Tell that to War Thunder. It caters for all..

War Thunder is one of the few exceptions lol
Closest thing I know of to AC on PC is a game under development called Vector Thrust, which started off as an indie game (I have the old alpha release of the game).

But anyway I hope Infinity is a success, and a regular non F2P game follows. Would love AC on PS4....

The economics in this game is stifling. As @Akira AC pointed out, the supply of money in ratio to the demand for it is ridiculous. The struggle is real in Ace Combat Infinity; it's as if they wanted us to feel the effects of the Ulysses Disaster as well.

What's the rules with spoilers on this thread lol? First set of assignments and the Nurburgring 24 enduro due to finish in the next day and a half. I'll probably get this game in the next 6 hours :D

EDIT: Download currently underway. It's massive...750MB/3GB done...New Zealand internet is so nyeh.

Now playing it and man, what a time machine the music is and then the subtle references to AC3 and 4. About to start mission 2 in the campaign mode.

IKR?

So it's technically Friday for me, and most of your guys.

Anyone for a joint group play on Sunday, maybe get some 3-4 missions done and get a MD mission?

Sounds good to me I need that invite by friend challenge and it would be nice to fly with some people who know what they are doing. Maybe I can finally pass the MD mission.

Well just downloaded this last night and did the little tutorial bit and you guys are right. Lots of nostalgia.:) So is going ahead and buying that unlimited campaign ticket the way to go? I'd like to play online with some of you sometime as well but I royally suck at Ace Combat right now. Haven't played in years.
