Try finding some guys with high player scores, probably a given they are stupid good and they will most likely know exactly what to do. I usually get the mission completed between 1:00 and 2:30 minutes left on the clock.

Actually the high player scorers tend to kill Moby Dick so fast that I've been telling some of them via the instant radio messages to hold up so we can rack up some escort fighter skills to earn the S-rank. Just to gloat, my player score is 1794. But recently I've been encountering butt hurt in some games and been getting kicked out for taking multiple MVPs.

Edit: @Bobert power: The F-16F is definitely one plane you'd want to rank up with. I plan on making all multiroles level 10.

Preying on the little guys?

Man, almost 1800? I really need to play more, not even at 1600. I just jump on, use my 3 given fuel cell things (1 or 2 more given challenges) and get off. I need to start investing some money into this. Although I consistently get MVP, it isn't enough.

What kinds of scores are you guys getting? I'm normally somewhere around the 20-35k range, using either the F-16F for ground attack or the F/A-18F for aerial assault. My player matching rate or what ever they call it is around 1500, and the game still won't give me a F-14 Zipang, telling me I already have it.👎

@Downhill Dino, actually no funny enough:lol:. It's the upper tier guys in the 1800-1900s that kick me out. The lower end guys tend to keep me because, well, I can help deliver wins.

Oh that's even better.👍

Man I want this game

...And you don't have it why? What are you doing with yourself?

By the way, just an in general question. Any of you come across guys who follow you? I'm saying, there are some players that follow closely behind and when the moment is right they take out whatever you're shooting at. Each one I've come across isn't that good considering when I pull off a get-away maneuver they don't follow but it's really counter-productive and annoying.

No, most of the time my guys like to switch targets to avoid stealing my kills to help go for the win and I do the same for them. In fact, I like taking kills from the other team since, well, that's the object of the game right? Besides inflicting as much damage as possible.

@Paulie : I usually average around the high 20s-low 30s in a high ranked team with everybody contributing, and with the overall grade being an S. If I happen to be in a lower ranked team, my score usually jumps to about high 40s-to mid 50s depending on what emergency update mission is. My highest so far is 84,000 odd points, but it came at the cost of only getting an A grade with lower levels. Personally I prefer getting 20-30s with high ranked teams because S grades give more money and increases the chances of fighting Moby Dick II and III, or so I've read on Ace Combat Skies. And just keep playing bro, you'd get the Zipang eventually.

I do the same, but I should've specified. They're always teammates doing it.

Are you sure its telling you you have the ZP and not the new skins for the F14A? I keep glancing at the drops and thinking I am getting the ZP and its just the skins (again) and I get 2k credits since I already have them.

So I just did some missions with this one guy whose rating was above 2100. At the end of one match his score was over 100,000. Bruh that's like the score an entire team makes in total.

Anyway, my F14 has been stuck at level 5 for days now and I'm really starting to feel the pain, because it has such limited slots for upgrades (14 each).
Just got the A10 and boy does it have firepower. You can be the slowest plane on the map and still be MVP.

Judging from experience though, I suggest investing in a decent Multirole. They have plenty slots available for your liking, and they get the job done. I'm assuming they can be financially great too, since it does the job of two planes and all.
Orr, you can do what I did and invest in a fighter so it can be powerful enough to handle some ground targets. In that case, the F15 would be great. I haven't tried out my Mig yet so I don't know.

Next stop, Rafale 👍.

I'm going straight for the F-35. Probably won't be upgrading anymore of my planes beyond what level they are now because the amount I spent on getting my F-14 and the special F-16 to level 2 is almost equivalent to the cost of my new FA-18 and now I'm pretty much broke :/

What the HELL are you doing to get scores like THAT?! What's normally your gameplan going in? Ground assault, air-to-air, both? Would I be safe to think you have the standard missile upgrades for speed, homing and power?

Are you sure its telling you you have the ZP and not the new skins for the F14A? I keep glancing at the drops and thinking I am getting the ZP and its just the skins (again) and I get 2k credits since I already have them.

Yeah, I already got the new F-14A skins and that comes up far less often. Almost every mission I get a screen that says "The F14A-Zipang is Currently Being Held, You have Acquired 1200Cr." (Sometimes a stocked fuel unit). And it has a picture of the Zipang on its own, if it's the skins you get a screen showing them too.

Zipang has to be purchased from the special planes in the skill tree.

Yeah I know, it's still locked for me and won't let me purchase it. I've tried contacting Namco games here in Australia about it but typical of any game creator, they are ignoring my requests.:irked:

@Paulie: I sortie in a multirole type most of time, the usual suspect being the F/A-18F outfitted with LASMs or the 4AAMs depending on what teammates bring to the table. As for upgrades, well my 18 is due for a level 9 upgrade, and I have homing and power upgrades for the missiles, and speed upgrades for the special weapons.

And since I multirole, I always go for the highest value target closest to me, and I'm not limited in target selection since a multirole can swing between ground and air combat. Besides that, I always keep on the move from target to target, never loitering around.

@Louie_Schumii Yeah don't worry too much about trying to upgrade more than one plane unless you're going for something like the Green Wings emblem (which is 3 level 5 planes). The F-35 doesn't seem like a very difficult plane to obtain and I see them a lot online. So I guess you should stick to your F/A 18 for the time being, though I do recommend at least trying to make the hornet a better plane. Not to make it the best it can be (since your ultimate goal is the F-35), but rather to make it much easier to get kills along the way. Because let's face it, the better your plane, the easier it is to get points, that's how the mechanics work in this game apparently.

@Paulie just emphasising what @sumbrownkid said, never stick around one area for too long, always try to be on the move. Switch targets as often as you have to. If you don't use your guns start practicing now. Always be aware of your surroundings: sometimes your plane will switch to another target but on your radar, there is an even closer, higher rewarding target (yellow giving the least, then orange, then red giving the most [sometimes 4 times that of a yellow]).

Had a few runs with my Level 1 F/A-18 and it's alright but somewhat feels lacking compared to the Level 2 Desert Rock F-16 when it comes to regular missions.

I get 35-40k per mission with the F-16 as opposed to the 25k with the F/A-18 by virtue of the Level 1 18 only having 4AAM's (albeit 10 of them but these are only effective against air targets and when you've got dudes flying around in F-22s and T-50s there's virtually no chance of you contributing much to the air superiority effort).

EDIT: Does your aircraft need to be Level 4 and above to change special weapons like in the beta? Having a look at the F-35 and the SP weapon on that plane starts off at HCAA missiles.

EDIT #02: Nvm. The F-35 is the perfect plane for me since I've already unlocked it's second set of SP weapons with my F-16 :D (and you only need to be level 1 to change SP's as far as I know). Time to do some sorties and rake in the $$$!

By the way was this the guy who got the over 100k scoring round - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXXV8gL7r6GdeQnrgrWNKmA

You need to get it as random drop first, then it will be unlocked.

One thing I always try to do is stay close to a member of my team and try to get the highest rewarding targets while in datalink. I of course abuse the hell out of the guns whenever I come across those targets that require multiples hits.

Oh yes! How can I forget that F-16? It's ridiculously good for a level 1 plane, so I can imagine how great it is as it levels up. So that should be a good tip for those of you thinking money-wise (which you will be): if you don't have the F/A-18 yet and you have the opportunity to get the F-16F Desert Rock, get the 16 because it's inexpensive and it can match (and even outdo depending on the situation) the 18.

I would think so (?). I mean if you already unlocked an SP with another plane, then it should be the same upgrade for any plane that has that same SP (like say two planes both with SAAMs). But I believe that specific plane needs to be at the required level to be able to switch to the SP. Once said plane gets to say level 4 or 7, then it will be able to use the SPs the same way any other would. At least that's how I understood it.

That's the guy! Except he was getting the over 100k with a full 4vs4 room, which was crazy. I think the second highest scoring guy got 20k. We were doing a Moby Dick II and I was trying to keep up...then I got disconnected.

I actually prefer the heavier twin-engine fighters.. Although, I do have a soft spot for MiG-21 as we had them for longest time :D

Yeah I remember it being like that in the beta but I checked real quickly on the current game and it looks like there's no need to level up the plane before changing SPs? I could be mistaken since none of my planes are beyond level 2

DUDE! If you weren't disconnected you would've had a massive pay-out. Read on this NeoGAF thread that for Moby Dick II you get 70,000 credits for S

I don't know if my aircraft are strong enough to take down red targets at a high rate, I've been previously just going for what ever is in front of me. Maybe I'll start focusing more on red targets. I really wish I hadn't spent 200,000Cr on campaign mission 3 before buying the campaign ticket anyway, I could SO use that cash now.:ouch:

That's what's glitching, I get the random drop ALL the time, but it says I already have it which I don't.:grumpy:

When they say that, I think they mean the event for the Zipang is being held, so you get extra credits. But you have to obtain the Zipang as a random drop. Just to give you an example, I've been playing everyday since the event, and I JUST got my Zipang today. So keep at it .
