Which one was that, I remember some of those hitting the walls. Wondering what they did to get dsq.
Not sure I'm afraid. Just gathered that between half-listening to the commentary and the r/WEC Discord. A Code 60 violation of some kind would be my guess.

Edit: Also, looks like the Nordschlife cameras are off now, so time to bring up your favorite on-boards, friends.

Edit 2: Going back to the #658 BMW, Jarno Dhauw was busted for going through a Code 60 at 136 KPH! He's been DQ'd, and the team was hit with a 105-second Stop & Go penalty. This was separate from the earlier DQ, so their race is pretty much done.

When they showed the green Lamborghini in the pits getting fuel, there was a mechanic with two stoppers one in each exhaust pipe. What are they for?

im gonna ask a really dumb question.... I know there are minimum pit stop times, but I see the crews releasing the drivers before the timer runs out.

is the rule that they just cant cross the line before the timer runs out ?

I noticed that with the two Winward Mercs - it seems they crossed the pit exit line just as the counter reached zero, but it was mighty close - that said, they know the exact distance to the line from their box, and they are limited to a specific speed, so they must know the exact time they can safely release the cars without earning a penalty.

My guess is flame guards.
To prevent you from being flamborghini'd?

I missed what happened to the #44...?

Thanks. I saw that with the Mercs as well. I kinda figured that but I wasn't sure.

Code Brown moment for the leading Mercs just now. :scared:
You love to see it. Credit to Engel for that ballsy move and epic save, that was definitely a "challenge accepted" moment and he felt he had to do some heroics to retake the lead from Max.

what was the penalty ? I switched over to the Japan Cup race from SUGO
I'm not sure. The commentators said it was a penalty that took 2 points off of his license and it has been revoked. Probably something involving a Code 60 speeding penalty. Those seem to be the most severe.

@CommanderBond Hindaugh just said what the penalty was, 112kph through a Code 60. That will do it.

#67 Mustang has some speed, even if it's a lap down. Been battling it out with the 2nd place Mercedes for a few laps now.

Edit: Just had to open my big mouth. Dropping spots now with slow pace, tire puncture?
