Adrian Sutil in court after glassing Renault's Eric Lux?

Seems like a normal occurrence on most nights out in the UK.

But to happen in Shanghai, with a champagne glass (was hoping it'd be a Stella Artois bottle) is just enough to break mundane.

Wtf???? His F1 career is pretty much on it's last legs. No other team will take him if this was deliberate. If found guilty, he'd better start kissing dr Mallya's ass.

Make way for Nico.

I can't imagine him keeping his seat if this is true. He's been a bit of a disappointment this season.

+1.

Ooops...

Well I'll reserve judgement since we don't know what the actual cause of the incident was, whether it was intentional, and since I've done plenty of stupid things when I've been drunk also.

If it's all true... NASCAR could get a german driver sometime soon!

Very bizarre incident. Heard about this a few days ago, I struggled to believe it at first. Not quite as crazy at throwing darts at your youth team, or shooting your staff with an air rifle though.

Wow. :ouch: What an idiot. :dunce:👎 If he doesn't get fired, consider him very Luxy.

Somewhere amidst the horizon, Nico is thinking "What an ass. So...when do I get his seat?"

...Sutil, of all people? I've never even seen him display an iota of emotion, let alone enough anger to glass someone.

And I can't imagine anyone running like THIS would ever be involved in something like this :D

If it's true, Nascar should distance itself from him. It's not a good message to send out. Plus his crashaholic nature could prove dangerous in a 43 strong pack... Just my two cents.

Because GTPLANET SUCKS AND I HAET U! >:[

Actually, I just suck.

And sorta like you ;)

But yeah, I'm crap at embedding YT vids :\

This was clearly all engineered by Hulkenberg to get Sutil out of his race seat ...

I don't think he'd be fired. I don't think the FIA would give him the chance. It's more likely the FIA will give him a race ban for bringing the sport into disrepute.

Can't remember exactly where (might have been f1blog), but a few days ago I read that Sutil was injured also and Hamilton was "forcibly ejected" too. More to it than it seems?

What the hell Sutil, seriously? :odd:

This is completely out of the blue. I'll be keeping my eye on this whole Sutil incident as it unfolds.

Firstly, the thread title is misleading - we don't actually know the details of the incident yet, so we don't know if Sutil "glassed" Lux though the evidence obviously points to it. Sutil isn't in court just yet either..

This has been on the rumour mill for a few weeks now, its only now that Lux has gone public with his intentions. Before now, it was being kept hush-hush and considered a private matter (as it should, within reason). Now it seems there is more to it.

As for Hamilton, all we know is that he was in the same club at the time. Depending who you listen to, he was either escorted out of the club after the incident, escorted out of the area of the incident but seen in the club later or he was in the middle of it all trying to "hold back" Lux and Sutil. Make of that what you will, but so far we don't know if Lewis was involved at all.

As for comments on Sutil's career being "on its last legs" and him being a crasaholic...only as good as your last race, eh? The guy has just had his best season in F1 and completely battered his teammate. Yes, his 2011 season so far has been terrible but if you have been paying attention at all, you would know its from bad luck mostly. Di Resta has been good but he has benefitted from luck so far. This is the same Sutil who people were naming for the second Renault seat instead of Petrov, as replacement for Kubica and also potentially lined up to replace Schumacher. Clearly, he isn't rubbish and his career couldn't be further from "its last legs".

Its amazing we have come from Monaco 2008 where people were cheering Sutil on to now with "well he isn't much good anyway"...despite him completely blowing away his performance in 2008 several times and showing a good level of consistencey in 2010. I honestly wonder if people even watch Grand Prix at all or if they just look at Wikipedia articles. Wait, no even Wikipedia would tell you he has only gotten better each year so I really don't understand people saying his career is dead anyway or he crashes too much. Where do you guys get this stuff?

I would love to see Hulk get another chance but at this point in time he isn't much better than Sutil. I'm not sure Force India will dismiss Sutil so quickly for what is a private incident (for the moment). It really depends how much the publicity escalates and what actually happened. If Sutil really did attack Lux, its obviously getting all a bit Bertrand Gachot.

My God, Ardius I love you for that post. First itme i've seen anyone say Sutil is good and getting better. All I ever see is "Di Resta is battering him." and "Maybe Hulk will take the seat if the slaughterfest continues." or "Most overrated driver ever."

Anyway, Sutil has really put himself out of the running for a seat at Renault, that's for sure

Granted, he has had a lot of bad luck. For example, being taken out by Raikkonen twice while in a very good position considering how bad his car was. Monaco 2008 was a bit heartbreaking. However, he has been responsible for a lot of facepalm moments. 2010 was his best season so far and was a huge step up in performance. There are a lot of people waiting for an f1 drive and if it was my choice, i'd probably choose someone else over him. Nick Heidfeld springs to mind. The Renault team obviously agree, although their choice might have been influenced by the fact that Nick's relatively contract free. I'm not saying he's a bad driver, but no other teams have risen to the bait. Some have considered him, but have ultimately chosen not to go with him.

If these allegations turn out to be true, I can only see him making a step down the field. The past few seasons now, he has talked about moving on to a better team, so that can't be doing him any favours with Force India. Maybe they'll keep him, but this whole situation is very damaging. It could have a negative impact on his career even if the allegations are proven wrong.

Out of curiosity, where do you see Sutil ending up? Granted, there was some talk about Renault. That's not going to happen now, unless Lux is lying. There was also some talk about him replacing Schumacher, but all that has really happened is talking. As far as we know, both teams have thought about him and said "no". Although there could be some unknown contract. I'm curious as to where you think he deserves to/ looks likely to be. Personally, I see him staying at force india, unless he has some great results. I can only see him staying put or moving down.

That was my first thought.

Very true.
