Skip step 1 and go onto step to... I have PS6 and maybe PS7 assumes a transparent background on gifs...

What about changing the color of your canvas? Look into that.

Sounds like Photoshop and Fireworks are similar.

Darn it. :Ouch:

I tried the wand thing, what do i do once the outside portion of the image is selected?

Once the outside portion is selected, press your "Delete" key.

Nope didn't work....

I'm really sorry for all the troubles... :\

So what happened when you hit the delete key while the outside portion was highlighted?

It turned grey like how it is here.

I see, so that's your background color, grey.

Search help topics for Transparent Canvas... Have you tried that?

I want to make the backround tranperent so that only the car is showing; no backround color. The stickysauce thing does show how to do it, but not the way i want it.

I'm sorry dude..

Yeah, I can see how the sticky sause can be missleading. The first step is to create a new document selecting "Transparent" background. Now all you have to do is import your image file into the newly created file, and deleted the unwanted outside stuff...

Give it a shot...

Is anybody willing to make me an avatar? I dont care what kind of car is being used or anything. (I have seen every pic of a Concept Viper) I would like it to have my name and the site name on it please. I am very easy to please so if anybody wants to make me one I would appreciate it greatly. :)

Oh yes that should work, only how do i put the image on the blank file?

here a couple of ways to do that...

1.) After the new document is created, open up the image file that you want, while leaving the blank file still open. Now you should be able to just click and drag the image over to the blank document..

2.) With the new blank document open, goto file -> import image, and select the image file...

Augh..... the 1st option didn't work, and with the 2nd option i get the choice of "Screen Capture", "TWAIN", or "Digital Camera"; whatever they do.

 :( :irked: :banghead:

Nope.... Hey, could you just put the transperency on this one?

Yep, but try one more thing...first.

With both the blank file and the image file both open...,

Click on the image file and make sure it's selected.
Goto Edit -> Copy
Now click on the blank file, make sure it's selected.
Goto Edit -> Paste

K, now go back to the original post, and goto step #2.

Did i go wrong in Step 3? Because i can't find "Save for web", just "Save" and "Save as"...

You could try the save as...

In PS6, you have to select Save For Web, where it assumes you want Gif or Jpeg and also to be able to make adjustments to the size and color combinations...and also to check the "Transparent Background" box...

I haven't used PS7 yet to tell you for sure...

I used "Save As..." and the option that came up was "Paint Shop Pro Image", but then i switched it to gif. Could that be the problem?

Maybe....

after you select gif, is there a options or advanced button that you can push?

You might also try "Export" or export to web if that exists...

Well there's an "Options" button with "Compression" and another part to make the file a PSP7 compatible file, PSP6 Cmpatible file, or PSP5 Compatible file.

There's an Export thingy, but i don't think anything on the list is important. Except maybe "JPEG Optimizer, GIF Optimizer, and PNG Optimizer" buttons.
