The update won't have done it, this has been happening for quite a while to an odd person every now and again and there has been threads about it on here, it's like a corruption issue with the save file.

If you don't have a back-up save all you can do is start again.:(

Just re bought my ftype jag. And was able to re apply my livery i had created. But i guess my biggest lose is all my mileage points. And cr. I have lost.

Could someone please explain how to do a back up?

Seen this happen to a few people now and would hate to think how many pieces my PS4 would end up in if this happened to me...!

I posted this thread a while ago with step by step instructions on how to back up your save data. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/how-to-back-up-your-gt-sport-data-pin-me.376193/

I hoped the thread would be pinned to bring awareness to this issue so that it does not happen to people so frequently (and reduces forum clutter from posts like this frequently coming up).

So far my requests for a pin have fallen of deaf ears.

2 options.

The easiest is using the PSN Cloud.
On the XMB highlight GT Sport and press "Option" button > Upload Save Data.

To use USB:
XMB > Settings > Application Save Data Management > Saved Data in Storage System > Copy to USB Storage Device.

Cheers for the info guys
The best thing to do is to backup and do a manual save on a daily basis to PS plus, or save it on to a USB.

Yep, it's as simple as that.
Also, people should be aware that even though some of your games are set to auto save, they don't necessarily save on a daily basis.
I even noticed some games don't even save on a weekly basis when it's set to auto save.

I forgot to mention in my post about a Manual Save, and I have change my post. Thanks for reminding me 👍.

Disc verison. Tried grabbing ps plus back up but no bueno...
It's worth noting that if you started a new game before checking the PS+ cloud save, then it may have been overwritten with your new game.

I don't know if this happens automagically, but it happened to my mate who lost his GTA V story single player save file.

As above, as soon as you notice the issue you have to be incredibly careful not to override the older good version. Not a nice situation to be in.
