Car of The Month: April! - Build your own Racing Modification/Touring Car!

@fordracer DB coupe '06 600pp review:

SS - At Grand Valley Speedway
Slight understeer in slower sections but not bad or enough to really hurt lap time.
Good grip, great balance, nice trans setup.
Does not like late entry, good think I like easy in, fast out.
Best lap - 1:55.617

RH - At Eifel Woods
Simply wonderful, flowed around here nicely.
Almost like it was tuned here :odd:
Watch late entry, will push wide through the center.
Especially long sweeping left hander after the esses. (but all cars do that in this corner ;))
Great job 👍 Best lap time - 1:31.537

@Brewguy44 R8 4.2 FSI R tronic 615pp review:

SS - At Trial Mountain
Is lots of fun here :D
Does not like going too deep into corners, will slide and lose grip.
Easy in, fast out produces best lap time and great launch on exit.
Best lap - 1:25.937

RH - At Eifel Woods
Can find some understeer mid-corner and brake lift off oversteer.
Can use the oversteer to your advantage though.
Seems the front end too tight, springs or sway bar? (not sure)
Maybe lowering LSD initial on the front might help.
Still, fast around here when smooth, real fast.
Best lap 1:31.465

Alpine A100 1600s 537pp Review:

SS - At Deep Forest Reverse
Now this is a fun little car, expect oversteer from RR but get slight understeer.
Good balance overall, can be driven harder than expected.
Fun trying to push to it's limits.
Really good, fun tune, well done.
Best lap 1:21.195

Thanks @Bowtie-muscle for the great reviews 👍 I did the Alpine because I had it in my garage and nobody else had done it yet and it is a fun car to drive!!!

I'll check the LSD on the Audi and lower it to see how it handles, Thanks Again!!!

Sorry, didnt notice, but was there any Chevys on there? :P :lol: Way to start the month Bowtie, thats a nice big list to choose from :)

Hopefully I can get some playing time this week to get some more cars tried out and reviewed. Still got to try those little S2Ks yet.

There are only "5" Chevy to choose from, but Viper only has 4 so........:dopey:

Still have 4 of them to post, but hopefully soon. But the GTS '13 can be fun, the Casi and Shelby are fun but much slower. :)

Took @shaunm80 and @Bowtie-muscle 's Maserati's out and here is what I think of them. Mind you, they were not tested on the same day, but I did write notes on them, so they're better than nothing.

First, @shaunm80.
Car: 600 PP SS tune
Track: Eifel Woods
- this car is very stable
- easy to drive; handling is very good
- great speed
- just a blast to drive
Time 1:32.417

Car: 550 PP SS
Track: Eifel Woods
- same as above, but with lower power
Time 1:35.499

Car: 600 PP GT3 RH
Track: Grand Valley Speedway
- maybe my driving is a little rusty, but first impressions are kinda mixed
- try to avoid curbs, 50-50 chance you'll wipe out
- car has speed, and that's not the issue
- handling seems slightly tight, wants to rotate
- not sure if tune is not made for track
Time 1:51.249

Lastly, @Bowtie-muscle 's tune on RH
Track: Grand Valley Speedway
- handling has the same problem as above; not sure if it's me or the tune, but it just doesn't sit right with me
- seems faster than above; beat my Jag time handily
- I don't know, it seems off to me
Time 1:49.972

Maybe this car favours the SS tunes more than the RH tunes, I don't know.

Thanks for the reviews. Great time set on the SS tune. Glad you enjoyed that version as much as you did. I am not sure why road cars on RH tyres are more problematic but I fear this is not the only car affected by this. Thanks for all the time you are putting in with these tests. :)

Edit: I am pretty sure when I tuned this car, it was tuned on Silverstone GP Circuit as I intended it to beat proper GT3 cars in one of the career races.

Thanks for the review, it's Not you it's the tune. Took that one out recently on two different tracks, Eifel Woods where it was really fast but slightly tricky. Not bad for me but can see others struggling. The other track, well I can't say yet, but quite quick but not as good as I thought. Could use some refinement, so I appreciate the feedback and understand the impression that you got.

@sinof1337 IS F / A110 1600s review:

IS F 550pp RH:
Well balanced, great grip. I lowered the final gear to 3.700.
My version was at 600pp as was @shaunm80, 550pp served this car much better. Turn in and mid corner are excellent, exit is smooth and easy to get on the power. Only slipped once and that was due to a curb.
Well done.
Best lap at Deep Forest Reverse - 1:18.220

A110 1600s at 530pp SS:
Almost flawless :eek:, even with lower rear ride height it's very stable.
Found your LSD strange, but it work fantastic.
Minor, very minor weight shift in the rear once in awhile just to remind you it's RR.
Great, fun tune. Only had issue with one corner, at the top of the hill before the first tunnel. Once I got it right I was good. From the second tunnel to the finish line however, this car was awesome.
Best lap at Deep Forest Reverse - 1:21.235

@Antares26 C 63 AMG / 135i coupe review:

C63 AMG 550pp RH:
Not a big fan of this car, at all. That said, 550pp was a better pp range the previous 600pp.
Easier to handle and control, but still has rear grip issues on exit (obviously, this car is born with that issue). Well balanced otherwise, and once you get the throttle control and patience needed for exit this car gets much better. Good brakes and a very well built trans.
Just drive it easy and do not brake too late, all will be well.
Best lap at SSR11 - 3:07.609

135i coupe 520pp RH:

Really well tuned car for this track. Flowed nice and easy to drive.
The rear tires never did seem to warm up and were almost always blue :odd:, although I did have one corner (just one) where the rear would slide slightly and light up the outside rear wheel. And it did it on most laps but every where else it was really good. Was able to drive it harder than expected, but be careful in the bumpy sections. All in all, a really good tune.
Best lap at SSR11 - 3:08.922

@lBt_33 135i coupe review:

Good tune with great handling. Getting on the throttle too early or hard between the 2nd and 3rd tunnels would induce a drift, but patience and control fixed the issue. When you are smooth with your inputs and the throttle, this is a quick tune and will not do anything unexpected. Good brakes (I set to 4 / 4), great turn in and well built trans/LSD. Nice work :)
Best lap at Deep Forest Reverse - 1:18.914
