Am I the only one who dislikes the UCD?

Let's compare real life (Auto Trader) and GT5 (UCD).

AutoTrader - Totally random selection of cars, with a few common cars showing up frequently (Astras, Mondeos etc.).
UCD - Exactly the same, but with MX5s, Skylines etc.

AutoTrader - Published with a certain number of new cars every week; but still retaining 85% of last weeks cars.
UCD - Refreshes every 'day' with 6 new cars and retains 80% of the old cars.

AutoTrader - Chances of seeing a collectible/rare car are slim-to-none.
UCD - Chances of seeing a rare car - 10%. (60% from my perspective, but hey...).

The whole point of it, is that it's a Used Car catalogue, and as shown above, it does that pretty well.

There is one huge difference with your autotrader example and it's the reason most people have a problem with the UCD. At any one time there are hundreds if not thousands of cars available to buy at any one time. GT5 has what, 30 is it?

I don't know how anyone can say it's anything like reality, it is not.

Also you seem to suggest it's not meant to mimic a dealership but last I checked the D stood for dealership.

If you've got nothing to say that doesn't come across as obtuse or snide, then I've definitely got enough validation for using the ignore feature for the first time.

I think it mimics a local newspaper, you know, the kind that advertises brand new Veyrons and all sorts of rare exotic classics alongside secondhand furniture and creepy personal ads.

If it's a truly rare car, maybe. The point I keep trying to make is that hundreds of cars that appear in the UCD should be available at any time because they are common cars that are always available. Keep the race cars and rare cars rare but the the common stuff should be availalble all of the time. I don't get a rush finding a Ford Focus in the UCD just the same as I wouldn't if I went looking for a second hand car in real life, because they're everywhere.

You can think of it what you like, PD call it a UCD and never say that's a car catalogue, it's a dealership.

I am not being rude at all, I made a perfectly valid point that you seemingly decided to ignore. So I'll ask you again, what 'car catalogue' do you know that features only 30 cars at any one time?

No, I do get where you're coming from.
I can see the validity of your point; that being, why only offer 30 out of 800+ cars at the one time.
I do, however, still prefer the random, surprising nature of the UCD.
