So close yet so far.

It was the 1970 Buick GSX Stage 1. It was the biggest sleeper in the muscle car era. Had a HiPo 455 w/ 4 speed Auto. The kicker was that it has either 3.73 or 4.11 gears out back. Beautiful car too. Thanks for playing!

What do ya'll think is the ugliest modern car that US makers build? Other than the PT Cruiser....:p

this might be off topic but i'm new and don't know how this all works yet, but according the the list there are going to be 3 ford taurus'. who is going to want to drives those in the game?

if you're going to put in american cars put in ones that people are going to want to drive. i'm a big fan of muscle cars and i'd like to see more of those but i think putting in american sedans isn't a good idea.

you have the muscle car fans and the import fans for the most part. probably not too many sedan fans, at least of american ones.
 
Which reminds me. They can put 3 Tauruses, but only 1 Mustang. 👎 :mad: 🤬 :banghead: :rolleyes:
 
Stupid ? time. Is the Dodge Neon SRT-4 goin to be in GT4? I havent read it anywhere and i figure its the only American Ricer.

As for the Taurus. Dont like it and never have. The SHO Taurus was such a POS. Why those cars are goin to be in GT4 instead of the Lightning or the many different Mustangs, is beyond me.

The fact that GM is recycling their Austrailian car and slapping the GTO badge on it is a slap in the face. What a cheezy way to make a profit.

I've been a GM for yrs, but recently im becoming very unsatisfied w/ them. First they drop the Camaro, and now the "new" GTO is just lameness.

Im sure the GTO can make a pretty damn good 1/4 mile car if someone actually puts the time into it. But, until then, screw the GTO. Screw it right in the ear.

You know, people keep bad mouthing the new GTO as plain, needs a shot of adrenaline....but it is true to ther original...the original was just a rebadged plain jane family car...with a bad mother motor....same with the new one...
 
Why you are dissing the GTO? Who cares that it is based on aussie Monaro. Because of this GTO has very high quality interior - materials are very close to European cars. It has very potent V8, RWD, its durable and well built. Judge concept looks better than C6 vette or new retro-style Mustang.
 
I think it's the fact that if you show many people that image they would probably end up saying "nice monaro, who modded/tuned that?" rather than identify it as it's own model. All they've done is what many a tuner do, so why should it be labelled as iconic when it's not.

exactly, they just wanna cash in on the GTO name... The original GTO was designed to look mean on the street, this current one sucks balls and looks like a Grand Prix.

If you haven't seen the updates with GameSpot, you may have missed this collection of pictures. These are nothing new at all. All about Las Vegas drags. Look at the cars featured. I think for American car fans, they have no reason to hate GT4 because there isn't enough emphasis on muscle cars. I mean, look at the cars. Check out the Vegas drags. To me, there is absolutely NO REASON to hate GT4. I say that people should be very thankful to have these cars and tracks in. GT4 is trying as best as possible to equal as many represented nationalities as possible. Personally, I'd love to see a 1959 or 1960 Corvette (I'll gladly take the 1953 'Vette, though). I want to take a Boss 302 or GTO (new or old) for a spin in GT4 as well. It would be wonderful to race Trans-Am cars. I don't care if it's Trans-Am race cars from the 60s and 70s or now. Oh, and don't forget. Ford is represented the world over, so even though it's not American Ford, it's Ford nonetheless.

And as far as more Mustangs than Tauruses, 98Cobra... do you consider GT2 as a great example for "More Mustangs than Tauruses?"

Keep in mind, it is a month old link, but it's more of a reference of what American cars are prospective to make it into GT4. So, no ranting for not giving out new information. Just wanted to prove a point.
 
Hey what about Vector? Are they in it? I loved those cars in Gt2.. The W12 was my all time favourite car... ( I had a look at the list... just a quick scan..)

As for everyone else saying the GTO is a nice and stuff: It lame and not an original piece of work! Its a rebadged Monero w/ one of GM's weakest V8's. Whats to be typed up about? The only thing it has goin for it is that its RWD. Oh and lets not get started on the grill of that car. Nothing says crap Pontiac like that grill. The only car that was able to get away w/ that grill was the WS-6 Firebird, simply because it wasnt overwhelmingly present.

On a completely different note: Did anyone every catch a motortrend a couple yrs back when they had a segment on the 5.0 Focus? It had the tried and true 302 and was RWD. I swear it was the only Focus ever worth buying. Anyone remember it?

I've seen that Focus at supercars.net. It was tuned by Ford racing to demonstrate how vesatile that crate engine is.

Yes. I think GT2 had a nice Mustang variety. I mean c'mon. Who would rather drive a Taurus over a Mustang? :sly:

No problem. 👍 As for Focusus; I've seen one with a 5.0L strocked to a 347. Imagine that ride. :dopey:
