Nice list, just one question.

super cirrus
1981 DeLorean DMC-12*

What is this doing here? I would love to have the delorean in but seriously, it isn't american or a muscle car. I'm going to have to look into that 10L mustang. Looks very nice!!

That ZL1 Camaro looked hot.

As for the list, i'd have to say i'd rather see a few more muscle cars. As for 80's models, the only one i would want to see is the Grand National. Just my thoughts.

Hmm if PD was to implement fuel I can't see many pf that list being first choice for most, also wtf is with a 10L engine, bloody thing will probably be tc/sc as well no doubt. Typical US thinking, bigger is best yeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhaaaaaaaa!! lol j/p

i have a question. it's been said that there are gonna be cars as far back as the 1900's, but how many are there to chose from, besides the model T? or are they just gonna be other really old fords?

I know what it needs...
Cheap turbos.
'85 Dodge Omni GLH.
'88 T-bird Turbo Coupe.
Buick GNX? (not so cheap)(Regal T-type?)

Ah, but then again, none of these were racing cars...not even GT's.

I believe that 10L (604) est. cubic inches is naturally aspirated my friend. All motor and no boost.

I remember when there was a VS competition w/ that Mustang vs the Lingenfelter BB Camaro. It was hot. There was one huge prob w/ the mustang though. The engine gave up after some hard runs. It made me laugh. Both cars were hella quick though.

Do you know what the Camaro did in the 1/4?

IIRC, the Camaro did the 1/4 in the 10's. Same w/ the Mustang. But, i also just remembered the Mustang that was in the face off against Camaro had a hemi powerplant. I really wish i could find that piece. I just dont remember if it was on TV or in one of the magazines or both. Ah, so many holes.........

Sorry man, that's just a regular GT w/ boss graphics.

Look at the intake tubing, the fuel rails the blake manifold cover thingy. Compare to the underhood pic above. Sorry man that's a 10L mustang w/ boss graphics.

Edit: wait I just followed my own instructions. It does look a bit suspect. Mainly the flange on the intake tubing.

Edit part 2: Does any one have pics of a 94 GT with it's hood up, to compare?

Here ya go....

Sorry about the bright @ss wiring.

that looks like a cobra engine. It looks supercharged. The pic in question doesn't have a cross member (like the real boss). The intake on the yellow one comes in the rear of the engine whereas both the real boss and wierd boss both come in the front.

Nope just a regular GT engine not supercharged. The only difference between the GT and Cobra engine is different intake and heads.

This looks a little conclusive.
The car in question has wheels that looks street worthy. Look at the rear wheels of this if it works, they are quite drag worthy. But maybe they were changed for track work. Or maybe the owner of the car in question decided he wanted more contemporary wheels. I really don't know.

Edir: WoW this attatchment isn't working so here is a link.

(crosses fingers, hoping it will work)

Well I think they're the same because this is Fords concept and they probably just put slicks on to see what it could do in the 1/4 mile.

Those wheels are borrowed from the 94-95 Cobra and notice the front bumper; also from the 94-95 Cobra. Also notice the hood. It is very tall to clear the 10L engine and in the GT picture, it has a short hood to clear the 5.0L engine. :)
Here's the Cobra...

the fog lamps are significantly bigger on the 10L. But any of that could be aftermarket which inevitably leads us to the conclusion. We have no idea what that car really is.

C'mon. Ford got a random Mustang body lying around, shoved a 10L in it, gave it wheels, hood and tires, gave it a 9in" rear end, heavy duty automatic transmission and held on for their dear lives as they ran 10.55 seconds in the 1/4 mile. :sly:

So close yet so far.

It was the 1970 Buick GSX Stage 1. It was the biggest sleeper in the muscle car era. Had a HiPo 455 w/ 4 speed Auto. The kicker was that it has either 3.73 or 4.11 gears out back. Beautiful car too. Thanks for playing!

What do ya'll think is the ugliest modern car that US makers build? Other than the PT Cruiser....:p
James-

man i think the the uglyest would have to b ummm **** this is so hard theres so many ****TY UGLY ONES OUT THERE hmmm well ill get to the point

UGLYEST: Dodge ram... man i hate that thing the older one looked kool but the new one thats been out for like 2 or 3 years... ****ing front end looks like a jet air plane

Mine has to be probably the Pontiac Aztec. :yuck:

I like DaimlerChrysler. And if you ask me, who wouldn't want a truck powered by either a new-age Hemi or the engine which powers the latest Dodge Viper? If you can't have the Viper, the SRT-10 might fit the bill. Search for my thread called "Keep on Truckin'!" for what we discussed about wanting to see the SRT10 Ram in GT4. And don't worry about all the bright-colored wiring, Cobra sir. You must know your Mustangs. I'm actually wanting to see the latest Mustang to hit the streets. I have mad respect for Ford going retro while looking to the future. That new Mustang would look pretty cool in Trans-Am. I think that new Mustang is going to own.

American cars, ladies and gentlemen. All American cars from the Ford Pinto all the way up to the Vector M12. Carry on discussion!
