You couldnt do 2 sessions, how do you combine the two? It might be the same track but its not the same conditions and with the LMP's finishing several laps ahead of GT cars you will never get correct finishing times.

I thought last year it was more like, if you're the 17th person to sign up and the first 16 people show then you're not racing?

I haven't really thought out how I would combine it. I'd imagine taking Session 2 drivers and placing them below Session 1 drivers' positions. Though that might make it unfair and would even have to rule finishing distances and other seemingly-useless factors. Consequently, we cannot run a single race and the points will be dispersed.

I think I'll have the driver list restricted to 20.

If it comes down to more than 16 members wanting to join, the LMP's can race their own lounge and GT's another.

There's nothing to worry about guys. No need to discuss it.

The second room gets equal points. Techni, you'll need to watch for the final finishing order. Back when I ran a series with two lobbies, (16 people on Forza 3) the points situation was even between both lobbies. Everyone gets equal points, and then the championships are scored out of twice as many people. Also, group drivers into lobbies based on SKILL and not on WHO SIGNED UP FIRST.

Come up with a better suggestion then. What if I show up late and there is no room in the main lounge? But the rest of the LMP guys are there? I race against a bunch of other GT's and win easily and get points? Whats to stop someone from doing that on purpose to get wins? It might not be fun but you see the problem? One room with every LMP and another room with the leftover guys from GT that can't fit in the main room is the only other solution. But if we split up the classes if there are too many entrants, everyone in their respective class gets an equal chance at a good race with the competition.
 
Sort of like a quali session before the race, go or go home quali, slowpokes get eliminated.
 
That may turn away interest. Some people have a better race craft than qualifying as well.

ALMS is multiclass racing and there's already a GT series run by Jav and an LMP series run by Bermudakid, so there's no reason for this series to even exist if we do it that way.

I think we just limit REGULARS to 16. Period. Then split the classes evenly. 8 and 8. That is a really easy way to do it. But we don't even really need to regulate it. There are plenty of LMP AND GT drivers already signed up.

I just don't want to see this series go down the drain from an unneeded complication. Just make #17 go reserve. Thems the brakes.
 
I guess you're right TT13. I just didn't want any drivers to feel left out, especially since most of the drivers are regulars.

Its nothing against new drivers really, but the people who have been in the series get priority if there were to be too many drivers. I was 17th in the pecking order last season and if i couldnt have raced then i was ok with that. But we never had an instance last season where we had too many drivers so i doubt we even need to worry about this scenario.

We haven't had an instance like that except for once I believe in our three seasons. Had to boot Cowboys in a preseason race once iirc. :lol:

You may have confused me with someone else...I never used a Peugeot in a league race, or at Laguna, and I was never asked to leave.

Did anyone read MY idea? The one about two lobbies arranged by skill? Thing is: if you're ON TIME then it's fine, but, if you're late for qualifying, you're out.

Thing is, racing with different skill sets (let's call them 'pro' drivers and 'gentlemen' drivers) allows you to push yourself to new levels, set the bar higher in practice and learn good lines by following good drivers. If you just race with amateurs you'll stay an amateur. At least in my opinion. Or as gatrs would say IMO.

That's all I wanted; an explanation (and, it was good one) why we weren't using my idea. How about three races missed or two in a row invalid absences removes that person from the series, to make sure that my team-mate, on BMW M Division team, shows up and helps BMW M Division to win. I say M Division because of the OTHER BMWs- the #15 LMRs and not the #15 M3s... heheh.

Also, idc about ur ability to 1337 5P33K. Save it 4 FB or 4chan...

Trust me, there can be as many sign-ups as possible, but come race day there still wont be 16 drivers on the grid, WATCH!

Iv'e been in 3 series where there were full grid sign ups, and come race day 50-80% show up.
 
There was more than 16 participants before, but half of them flaked out from incidents or being off pace. I think if were having people participate and they're new, if you quit don't expect your spot to be held next race.
