Well, I think a majority of people don't want anymore James6653. Today he crashed and hit me in Rolex on purpose. He fits that dirty driver type from the OP.

I won't kick him, BUT I'm starting a discussion on the topic. Was anyone else involved in any problems with James6653? We might need more proof from other drivers. Mitch, you have the floor...:sly:

Also, Storm is the most fun bloke I've raced with. We never even bump. He's a worthy replacement for James... I'd like to see all the GT guys racing together... Well, all of them that drive clean.

Let's get Phil (PMC) Storm, FH, and Sinladar IN if possible...

I don't have the replay, so someone would need to review the race and to double-check on James' crimes. If it's severe enough, I will drop the hammer for him/her. If it isn't, I will give him one chance to whip up in shape, as well as associated penalties.

I'll re-name your team shortly TT13 👍

Hopefully, we get another full house for Indy. It felt quite nice for the room in Daytona to be that full in a long time.

An early 1:24 with plenty room to improve at Indy. What's a good LMP time to shoot for? Looking for race pace.

As for James, I watched him for a number of laps, up until mitch dropped out. Honestly, I didn't see his driving as the problem. When he went off track, he always waited for a safe spot to rejoin. He struck another LMP once by accident because he was already spinning (think it might have been Pipi or the other R8 driver). Saw a few passes he made that were clean. I think the main problem was his car was unstable, either from having hards on the rear or just a general tail-happy tune. He spun a lot mostly on his own due to this.

And regarding the accident with Mitch, in my eyes it was Mitch's fault--if he was that white 458 driver. James seemed to have already made the pass going into the bus stop and Mitch just rearended him, at least in my replay. Which is ridiculous knowing the LMP is going to pull away after the turn.

My opinion is that he just needs a better tune.

I'm having some issues with my own driving, but the car is amazing. I'm close to breaking the BMW M3 in to the specs (at 577 bhp currently), but already I'm seeing a huge potential in the car's performance that, with 590 bhp, I will end up realising. I'm keeping quiet for the most part, though. I don't wanna give away too much of what MrMelancholy knows about me already until I'm physically competing, but I'm sure you'll see glimpses of it in practice.

1:22's and 23's should be a good fast lap pace for LMP's at Indy. In preseason with the Bentley I was doing 23's and 24's. 25's should be a fast race pace I'd say.

The M3 has a power advantage, because of its cornering disadvantages.

So I guess the main thing to worry about for me now is stability and endurance with my tires. Moved the "ballast" to the front, even though there's no weight I've heard it's supposed to still have an effect. It seems to help keep it steadier with less extreme torque oversteer.

Also do you think having more than 1 TCS would help improve tire life? At Daytona I switched it up to like 5 once my tires were about halfway and it slowed down the wear rate it seemed like. Or was that my imagination.

You'll get less wheel spin, so it's probably not your imagination, I drive with TCS on 5, even though I can drive without it.

You drive the Ferrari with TC on? Interesting, i just dont find it to be needed at all with GT cars unless you're talking about your experience with the prototypes?

TT yes the ballast plays a big role in how a car handles, move it forward if the back end is coming out on corner entry. Although that wont always fix the problem, you could also soften the rear end, add some positive toe, or set the ride height to where the rear is slightly lower than the front. All these things would give you more rear stability.

In most all of the LMP's I can turn laps within a second of eachother. I don't have a special tune for any of them. I just set it up almost the same in every one of them. I think the Bentley is fastest on fast sweeping tracks. The R8 '05 is fastest on technical tracks with a lot of corners. The Toyota is maybe fastest in a straight line. And I think the 908 is one of the easiest to drive fast.

In regards to the stuff with James, I don't know, I've done more races with him... In the Rolex series, and in Daytona, he ended up driving backwards for a period of time. I know that Mitch had already left when he was driving backwards. Storm, care to tell them about James, and not about our amazingly awesome car? Heheh, I'm kidding, of course, but, really, we don't have much room to brag yet. What we really need, is more room for Pawel17 and yourself, Storm, with FlyinHawaiian and people. So, we need to weed out the less-than-worthy drivers. I really wish I could send someone the replay. Does anyone know how?

I just looked at my car and realized the power was down to 457hp by race end, apparently i didnt check to see if it needed an oil change before we started the race. I thought something was wrong on my final stint when i couldnt break into the 45's anymore and now i know why.

Im sorry, who are you again?...

Yes, it's my first season, but, no, I'm not a bad driver. I qualified right beside you, and, I had a serious chance to win, based on my pace and consistency, but, just not tire life.

He's saying your not in a position to say they need to get rid of drivers.

...but it's not your series...

if anyone thought i was racing dirty i am sorry i did not have time to clear my cache or reset my router before the race in fact i rushed my self to the room as soon as i found out what i had to do to get into the race room i rushed to get there

You weren't lagging.

Since I don't have the replay, I can't really analyze the situation. But according to witness response, the severity is obvious.
I haven't made a conclusion until I am absolutely sure it is proper to carry out. But fortunately, your grammar-absent post there will suffice forgiveness in this term 👍

Point taken. :nervous: Don't be mad guys, I just don't like being hit in the door by a guy who I'm not on good terms with.

I should add, that this DID happen in the Rolex series race, not the ALMS race, but, I had too many close calls...

Anyways, I think the best course of action might be: James, really, please take my advice, get that tune worked out, it's barely safe to drive on the same track as a car that's SO slippery. You're running the Toyota in both the ALMS and Rolex, it'd be very convenient to run a better setup, because it'll benefit you in two series.

Yes yes yes, it's helping all three parties! Your doing better, and the ALMS and Rolex series' will have better, safer racing! It's a win-win-win situation.

Just throwing it out there. If your car sucks, you don't feel like driving, or any reason. DON'T DRIVE BACKWARDS! Take it to the pits. Its a little annoying going though the bus stop at Daytona and see a car going backwards in the grass at full speed!! Also I know we had a discussion last season but during qualifying and the race get off the road if you feel the need you have to text or write something to someone. Very annoying!!

Relatively speaking im still kind of a new guy, ive only raced with this group for one season. But i can tell you there are no bad/dirty drivers in this series, in fact a lot of them are very forgiving on the track and leave plenty of room in the corners. Contact happens, thats racing, but no need to worry.

I never said anything about your driving, but i think i spoke for everyone in implying that you cant just come in here and try to organize the series, especially when you're the rookie.

As for your performance on the track, yeah your setup was bad on tire life but your consistency wasnt good either. I took the time to make a line chart of my race vs. yours. Note: Each dot represents your lap time so each spike represents when you pit, just after your pit the dots should start low and rise gently due to tire wear.

My chart: Notice the consistency in between pit stops

Your chart: A lot of up and down movement between stops, meaning you werent always consistent with your laps

Interesting data points. And, I am sorry about "trying to run the forum." I didn't mean that at all. I was giving my two-cents (if it's even worth that) about that. The problem is, though, I just didn't see James being competitive, or even trying. I guess, I'm just a little hurt, because there are people who could get in, who would really give it an honest try.

Also, I'm really not sure about how I should be more consistent. I didn't spin the tires, spin, or hit anything. Is there a special trick to being more consistent?

EDIT NOTE: I also see, that I started to run more consistently, once I was on mediums, and softs towards the end, and that the hards just didn't have the grip. I was pushing too hard on the hards, because it was such a mistake to even put them on. Perhaps, I'll soften my suspension and run mediums or softs only.

But I think Mr. M was saying he had entered too fast once or twice and didn't get fresh tires or something like that.

Also the driving backwards stuff was really distracting, I agree with you guys there. James, don't put hards on the back only if your car is already prone to spinning. And either exit the track or sit in the pits if you're gonna DNF. I think that should be a rule.

The rFactor series I run in with gatrs and jav requires you to not text at all during qualy or race. I think that's wise, except when dictating how the pace lap goes and such.

BTW GT5 does NOT line you up properly. I was behind like 10 GT cars :grumpy:

No, after reviewing it, I was okay, (I followed pit-speed limit) but I accidentally hit "OK" too soon, before changing the fronts. That only happened once. :( I had to pit again directly after, to change the fronts.

I don't care about text during qualifying just get off the track. Mrmel we have run 4 seasons now, he screws up again he'd be probably gone. Chill out. Nobody here will put up with it. Also stop with the drama keep it in the Rolex Series! LOL!!
