I might have pissed off FH, but, if he dive bombs again, I'm spinning him.

How about you concentrate on not cutting chicanes, yeah i saw it on the replay. I can understand if you come in too hot and go through, but laps 37-41 you purposely cut the chicane right through the green padding. Your tires were very low but thats no excuse, thats a blatant disregard for the rules. Because i didnt look at everyones laps im not going to worry about it, cause its not fair to single someone out. But dont let this happen again.

And FH is one of the cleanest drivers in this series, i have a lot of respect for him. I doubt he would dive bomb someone on purpose.

LOL, Sin calling the M drivers out

LOL @ that pic from Friday:tup:

Just callin it like I see it. No intent to call out any drivers. I said it after the race at Indy Road just didnt post about it. I still think the Bimmers are too over powered for their own good, and the good of the balance of the GT class. Also if I can do 47s in it with no set up and not broken in, I shudder to think what you FH or Yera could pull in it @590hp.

I also suspect the RGT could stand to lose 10-15hp as well but havent done alot of testing with that one.

I think the RGT is good, i mean they dont get the advantage of all the downforce premium cars have to offer. I havent driven one with the ALMS settings, but i dont think we should take any HP away.

I noticed the BMW without draft was reaching around 187mph on the straights, while i could only go 173mph lol. You could be right about them being over powered, but thats another car i havent tested much.

I'll have to be honest on this one, but at 570 bhp I was running similar times around Indy as many of you guys were, I think that the car had only fully maxed out at Indy midway through the race. I actually thought that the 8 bhp I had left to break in just before the race (Coz I'd been trying to break it in from 570 in the hours leading upto that race) would make a difference, but ummm.... it didn't really.

I could try 550 bhp or 542 bhp (RUF's 500 bhp/1300kg but have + 1 bhp for every 1kg overweight), or even 521 bhp (500 bhp +1 for every 2 kgs overweight) and see how that performs. As for the times you think Yera or FH could do in the Bimmers, they'd have to find a way around the somewhat odd lack of turning ability in the car first. Might just be that me and Melancholy having retarded driving styles and DS3's, but yeah....

Botched strategy today. Was going to stay out a few laps longer on my 3rd stint, but traffic sucks and people didn't help out any by switching lanes! Ruined my tires by hitting someone that cut across track. Had to pit early and couldn't make 16 laps on mediums. I had it planned to use mediums for the last 12 laps, Pipi would have made 1 more stop than me, but it didn't turn out that way. Still good result and good leading the points.

LOL Seth, I hesitated at Parabolica. I usually pull off the racing line to let you have it, but I noticed you'd moved slightly off it, but stayed relatively on it so I wasn't sure what to do for you. When I looked back after I moved over, I noticed you did the same. Sorry bro.

In retrospect I shouldn't have joined the track&field people to see Avengers, ended at 1am last night.
I have to start making races...

I might have pissed off FH, but, if he dive bombs again, I'm spinning him.

Also, Yera & I had the closest race that I've had in a while, 'til he hit (or someone) me snd caused me to slide in front of Kevin.

This person also damaged my tires more than I realized, and, by my in lap, the tire was dead...

Come on man. Is that whole statement directed towards me? You can ask any of the Vets here, that's not my style. Ask Yera, I'm was always early on the brakes. If anything, I probably got into your slip stream, and out braked you into the corner. Kind of low to say your willing to take someone out if he's trying to make a legit pass. Can someone who has access to the replay check it out and see what he's talking about? I obviously dont have it myself.

While your at it please check the first half of the race where me and Yera were going at it and tell me if there is anything wrong. Because thats how I was racing the entire time. I didnt see anything wrong with the way we raced. Some corners he would out brake me and vice versa. But we were always clean.

Anyway, sorry to Kev. Cost us some points last night. Yera and I were having an epic battle before I lost it. I came onto the gas way to early coming out of the corners and spun the car. I was so mad at myself that I let it bother me the whole race. Spun again this time on the last sweeping turn, same stupid mistake and I rage quit. 👎

SO 🤬 AT MY SERVICE PROVIDER RIGHT NOW... I actually lost both my internet connection as well as TV signal.

What happened, was that, after my last stop I was right behind both Storm and TG2, knowing they would still need to stop, then it was strange, because I think I passed Storm after 2nd Lesmo corner, but then it seemed to me TG2 lift-off throttle after Variante Ascari, and after I passed him, I got disconnected.

I was positively surprised with the fact that even with such close racing on both my first 2 stints, the tires handled better than I expected, which meant I could go with 10 lap stints, and as expected with this car, tire wear was getting slightly lower as the car got lighter which meant I could probably do 11 laps with last set if needed.

It really sucks to see all this effort go to waste, but we can say my car's engine broke down due to over-revving (I actually change gears in this car 400 rpm beyond the redline, because strangelly, the torque's still there...) :banghead:

PS: To MrMelancholy15, it was me who made contact with you at 1st Lesmo corner, because you went wide, and it actually seemed there was enough space for me to squeeze through, but at the very last moment I swapped paint with you. Sorry about that.

Speaking of. Did the two BMW's eventually get to see each other on the track? I know they were at the front for like the first lap or two. Hard to imagine that they didnt take each other out if they couldnt see each other.

How was the room last night when Seth hosted compared to when I hosted? I didnt see any issues on my end. But I can host again if its more stable. I heard that the person with the highest ping and upload is the one that is best to host. And I believe you have to actually test it on the PS3 browser and speedtest.net. There was lag in practice, but only when a couple of people would leave the track and go into the lobby. Other than that, everything was solid. 👍

I know they couldn't see each other, as their cars were touching each other everywhere on track, but they would never take each other out because to them it looked like they had clean track.
That was the main reason I was so cautious at the beggining, and only began attacking MrMelancholy15 after Storm gained on him.

As for the lobby, everything was just fine on my end, and the reason for my disconnection had nothing to do with it or with anyone on it at the time.

Nope, I didn't see him the whole race through. Yeah, I was gone after the first 3 or so laps, I don't think anybody was gonna catch me at that point. Then I stayed out a lap too long on the first stint. Well, I didn't based on prior practicing, but I must've scorched the tyres too much.

Next track is Laguna or Monaco?

Gatrs, you need to hurt cowboys... He didn't do too well, haha jk... No, really though, the BTR's *VERY* old...

I did better than Gatrs' would. :sly:

You actually finished a race this season 👍 haha

Yea, I haven't had much of that fun feeling this season till last race. 👍

Already put this race behind me and starting working on Monaco. This race is going to be interesting. Not to many places to pass here.

Everybody don't forget ALMS race comes on in 5 mins. on espn3.com

Just tested the bimmer out at 542hp Still worked out great was still able to do 8 laps on softs. I think this is around where the BMW needs to be. I also use a ds3. It still feels a little fast tho, so I think somewhere inbetween 521-542 is perfect for this car.

Just for reference, the pole time for Laguna seca was in the 1:13's! My times yesterday after a couple laps were 1:16's. I think I can get 1:15's for fast qualifyig lap- maybe 1:14's with very low fuel during the last stints in the race. Still about a second off what these cars are capable of IRL! Crazy fast huh?

I thought it was you who bumped me on first stunt. FH hit me at Saraglio on in lap of second stint. I'm not mad, but, everyone's picking on the BMWs as targets... At least, it seems like it. The problems with the Bimmers, are ACTUALLY the Corvettes & Yera, who can run fast laps without damaging the tires. You've gotta realize, we can't take any weight out, so, we get dive-bombed by the cars that are lighter. It's gotten to the point where I have mini panic attacks when I see the LMPs, because of the weight/downforce equation...

But, if the other cars don't run more ballast, then we need more power and we can't find realistic tire wear/lap time sacrifices.

I'm not saying "change it all" because Chevy/Ford have won every race so far... BMW has won nothing. Sure, we limped the cars around for two bloody laps in qualifying. SUE US.

We've struggled with tire life at every track, only to see the GT/Vettes walk away on race laps and tire wear.

Anyways, you guys all know that the BMWs are struggling with tire life/control. Bumping us just seems ridiculous. No one needs penalties or anything... WE NEED TIRE LIFE, and we are struggling to avoid contact with the nimbler, lighter cars we're racing against.

Because we know how to tune properly and not sling the car around, burning up the rear tires? You're right we are the problem.

MrMel thing everyone is talking about straight line speed. I know I would pass the BMW in the corner and I would be passed in the straights like I was standing still. Like Kevin says need to practice on tire life. That's how I set up my car good at the beginning with a full tank and great with no gas in the tank. Ask cowboy! Car felt good at the end right?

Bimmers if you're going to be passed by lighter cars, defend the inside lines rather than taking the out-to-in line. Then beat them on the straights. If you leave the inside open others will go for it, if they think they can.

Yep, you can extend tire life just on driving style alone. I know where you guys are coming from though. Theres only so much you can do with a ds3. Us wheel users have an easier time with throttle control.

There are tons of guides you can look at to make your tires last longer. LSD alone will do wonders for tire life.

Got iRacing. :sly:
Pretty awesome.

I use traction control sometimes with those cars. I was testing the Viper out earlier and that thing is major fast.
