Yep, you can extend tire life just on driving style alone. I know where you guys are coming from though. Theres only so much you can do with a ds3. Us wheel users have an easier time with throttle control.

There are tons of guides you can look at to make your tires last longer. LSD alone will do wonders for tire life.

The reason I have my current tire management level is from playing this game competitively on a Portuguese league for 10 months using a DS3.
In the final stages of that championship, I was even able to outlast guys using wheels, while still being faster than them.

When using DS3, the most important aspect is finess in your inputs. I played GT5 from day one using both analogs to steer and throttle/brake.

Are you using a DS3 now? Probably the fastest DS3 racer I've gone against if you are. 👍

No, man, I'm using a G25 since August.
But since the series I raced in was separated into a Wheel class and a DS3 class, I kept racing for it using my pad until November.

I use traction control sometimes with those cars. I was testing the Viper out earlier and that thing is major fast.

Wrong series Seth...? Were you thinking of the white one, you tested after the Rolex race... which you so narrowly won...? :P If so, then that's the SRT10 Rolex Spec Viper... Not the ACR ALMS Spec Viper... Anyways, traction control and I don't get along.

I think I've only seen one other driver pilot the viper. Thing pulled like a freight train and carved out the corners as if it were on rails. Another car that gets no respect in our series.

I have both Vipers (now). The ACR is awesome. All that torque- it's like a GT version of the Peugeot 908. I use the DS3 as well.

That ACR is a bit special. I'm tuning it up for next season's Rolex, since I reckon it'll be in there. Tyre wear on that thing is NO problem whatso ever. 2:00 flat at 465 bhp and 1280kg on the Nurburgring.

I think that mightve been gtamann. I don't remember. But yeah I do recall it did well.

No sir. That was Potato who was in it. Back then we were all newbs and he made it pretty far in gt academy. I think he got bored racing with us.

Oh yeah, Potato! Sometimes it's hard to tell what cars are good, too. We've had drivers who were good enough to win races in the R10 against Bentleys and 908s.

That was 'Tater too. :p

I tested the Viper at Mona before the race, it does handle as if it were on rails with the Chassis Reinforcement.

Kind of sad. That car never got the same recognition for breaking the record at the ring as much as the GT-R did.

Well, in all fairness, his only competition was THAT GUY, myself, and occasionally Jav all in 908s.

He raced against a couple of us last season in LMP(2). He's pretty fast, but once you get a handle on the cars you're driving he's not unbeatable. In my first race with the Toyota a couple seasons back before I knew anything about tuning these cars I kept up with him while he was in the R10. He did put that car to good use though. Anyway, speaking about the Viper, if I was running in GT I'd probably go that route.

I'll probably switched to the Evora or Viper next season. For some reason.... that Evora does itself justice for me, and the Viper ACR is a new venture. Oddly, I'm not liking how I have to literally change gear ON the rev limit in the ACR; almost no room for missing the shift.

EVERYONE GET ON THE VIPER BABDWAGON!!!!

I wanna switch it up next season also. I keep wanting to go lmp, but there is something that keeps me in GT. Maybe because you can mask more errors with the GT cars.

My plans are IF i were to win GT im gonna make the jump to LMP. On to the next challenge and a chance to get to race with those guys. It sucks to see such a low turnout for LMP's but i honestly think some of the guys who signed up probably realized you cant just hop in one and be as fast as seth or pipi. In pre-season more than half the field was LMP, now we have probably 4-5 active drivers.

Slowly but surely losing respect for the ALMS irl.

How so? Man you need to start racing with us, that 1 point you have is an eye sore. Lets work on that 👍

Because Lizards failed? :p

It's the fact that these millionaires can come out, drive, and ram into the real professionals and don't even get a slap on the wrist.

And Kevin, I'll join for Spa at least.
What track's next?

Intriguing points battle between BMW and Porsche... Chevy's gone. Ummm, I almost wanna say "Congrats, Kevin, you **************** our *****."

That comments refers to kicking, and something I can't see without becoming an owl.

I wasn't as fast as a lot of GT drivers either :p

I actually find the 908 way easier to drive than any GT car I drove, probably because those cars weren't actually race modified--they're road cars with spoilers, so you're battling way more with understeer and the like. Not as precise. For instance, driving the RUF is absolutely nothing like driving the 977 Porsche in rFactor. Nothing at all. You're constantly fighting the car, which is fun but not similar to real racing cars I don't think.

The 908 is a breeze to drive, however, and getting within a second or so of pace is easy enough. Pace is different than what the aliens do, though. But reigning the car in is easy, practically no understeer and the back only gets out if you don't mind the throttle.

Nah, the points look worse than they will look towards the end because we drop the worst 2 races for everyone. Assuming Yeratel doesnt get disconnected again this race shouldnt hurt him as much. Although i did take his spot so technically it goes as a win, even though i dont feel like i did. In any case its way better than the 8th place finish i had last year at monza

Yeah... I can't say your win was *ALL* luck though. Somehow, you all managed to overcome the BMW-front-row-lockout...

Monaco will be fun. Tire wear will be really important there. As will turn in and braking.
