Uh, do what?

Wait, nevermind.

It's weird, I'm not the fastest guy in the things. I just try to be consistent and stay out of trouble. So if there is anyone who thinks that they can't compete- you can!

Woo hoo...made it into the 1:32 club :)

What are LMP's running? I wanna try and and see if I can actually tune one. Thinking about the Toyota or the Bentley.

I noticed that you went with stiffer springs. Thats basically all I changed. Oh and I lowered the rear a bit. Thanks for the help 👍.

Cool man, yeah the springs you had i usually would use for Daytona or something. I still have to check tire wear, i only did 2 laps at a time but they seemed to be somewhat even.

My pit window is between laps 9 and 10. Tire wear is about even, but the rears tires will die before the fronts will.

Right, so, 1:34s are slow now?? Damn... I am avoiding every wall in every corner by about an inch, using the entire track, and not getting wheelspin or understeer, yet I'm still off-pace by two seconds?? This BMW is rather heavy then...

Are you using 590 bhp? I was testing the BMW out with FH the other day on 521 bhp: 1:35.7 was my best time.

Edit: 1:34.050, and that's with noticable understeer too. And now a 1:33.468 with tighter front suspension than before.

I wouldnt worry about times here. The corners and a tight track should keep everyone close together. That is of course if we can all keep it out of the walls. I for one would love for it to be close the entire race. I get bored when I'm racing by myself. :(

I just hope that I don't do what the Bob's do here at Monaco; smash the barrier on the inside entry of the chicane after the tunnel, then proceed to allow everyone else pass and then decide to try and bury myself into the barrier just a little more trying to get unstuck.

 reminds me. I need to map reverse to one of my wheel buttons on the g27. I always panic when I have to go into reverse and habe to use the h shifter.

I may need to do another session with Melancholy, may need to think about defensive driving on this track. I mght keep with the 521 bhp setup for the car, maybe bump it to 532 bhp, but I reckon it hardly matters if not for a tiny bit more acceleration. I can definitely feel a lot more acceleration at 590, but since I'm used to the lower bhp I notice that my braking needs to be earlier or harder.

Cowboys965

Lmao...I thought I was the only one that was thinking that. 👍

Storm may be up to something here. You shouldnt need all that hp for this track. Who knows, might save some tire life that way.

Up to something, or on to something? In a way, whatever way you meant to say that, I guess there might be a bit of both going on.

I don't think that power is necessary, not all 590 of it anyway. I'll try 532 bhp and see how that looks, but if there's no real improvement, then I'll go back to 521 bhp. Hopefully if I'm right, the tyre life should be increased enough to allow me to run the same 9-10 lap stints I'm seeing from a few of you.

Ummm, yeah, with 590 I could barely run flat out through that tunnel. That could be bad.

Sorry, meant to say on to. I'm all for us finding out how to make the cars faster. I always say cant be the best unless you beat the best. Im never the best though. :(

Def. Not gonna make it. Have to work through Saturday now.

This is not a BMW track, my friend.

May miss tomorrows race. Just found out I need to do work out of town. Should be back by Friday night but I have no idea how late I will be.

I hope you make it, that sucks.

As for the BMW im scratching my head on why you would want to use less power? If tires are the issue then go easier on the throttle when coming out of a turn? Or find a tune that isnt so hard on them, when you take away HP you take away the BMWs strongest advantage.

Ask TG2. He seemed to think that Monza went overly well for BMW...

Eh, that's kind of silly because that's to be expected at a track like Monza.

Listen to the LMP guy; he has no vested interest. :sly:

I wonder what that's saying about TG2...

My Toyota may not be so great here. But I'm good at this track, I think. I'll be testing tomorrow, and post times.

For me there's more to it; it's not just about the getting out of the turn without spinning out and burning the tyres. Yes, it's a bit crazy to think why I would want to forsake the BMW's advantage, but there's a method to the madness.

The questions to you though Kevin; is this a track where raw power is going to be an advantage? Will ALL of that power be beneficial, or even necessary on this track?

Me: 1:33.3 @ 521 bhp
MrM15: 1:34.6 @ 590 bhp

My madness, for now, says no.

On a side note:

Ok, so some want the BMW to lose some bhp, ironically after it locked out the front row of the grid AND steamrolled the first 6 laps on ONE track, despite not winning anyway. Yet, at least one person thinks that by lowering it bhp, it will lose its advantage. Can we all please sit back and drink a nice refreshing cup of "make your minds up" at some point? Those drinks are on me, YAYY!

Edit: Just for kicks, I used the Evora I have. 1:32.851 was my time. So Lotus, you better get your backsides in gear here!!! And after a bit of tuning, 1:32.275. :D
