The McLaren at 460hp/970kg got a 1:57.662 but even so it was barely faster than the R390 (280kg heavier). That R390 would really be a car to watch out for if it were allowed in.
 
The R390 is NOT going to be allowed in.
 
1:58 is the benchmark tho right?

The fact of the matter is all the people who are being referred to as a joke are steadily improving and have all had close moments in different races. I can recall several myself where I made up lost time on other racers and even passed a few of the better drivers who had offs and whatnot (which isn't an excuse, part of skill is speed and part is control of the car). I don't have any problem with the F1 because I tried it out and couldn't get a decent time, meaning Mitch is obviously a better driver than I am. Monaco doubled that effect. On the other hand, can we stop the bashing of the less experienced drivers? It's not like we're incapable of a podium spot or something.

We're all a part of this league and it's a bit alienating to throw names out there and call us rubbish.

I actually enjoy racing with the 'slower' guys on the grid, why? It makes it more fun and lightens the mood. Yes I do enjoy being a frontrunner but there are great battles to be had elsewhere in the running order and that's what makes this series so much fun. I know in the past I've had some good battles with TT13, cowboys (maybe not so much, at Monaco tho I couldn't sit on my hands however with him chasing me off the start), and I've had my moments with Rocko but without these guys this would just be a dour ego-a-thon with 3 less cars on the grid and it's generally why I wouldn't waste my time trying to talk down to them. They're here to race and improve, not give stick to those who are slower than them...

Think of them as the gentleman drivers keeping the grids healthy and giving us some decent racing whilst the faster guys would be the factory teams. We need both to have competition across the board and that's exactly what we're getting.

pfffft. let the guy have the itty witty F1. I don't think that car is faster than any of the other cars.

The rounds where Mitch raced the F1 happen to be the rounds where alot of very fast people missed the race.

You can hardly ban that car based on how Mitch compared to rocko/tt13/cowboys. i mean this in the nicest way so dont go twisting my word. te fact of the matter is theyre are people faster than those guys... Theyres people even faster than me.

Plus having it race at a "downforce dependent track" as Mitch says, but my car handled it differently

haha nice. Well said mitch and to Blaze and all the more practiced racers, I quite enjoy racing with you guys. Blaze you always seem to amaze me with your racing. Just want to know you respect the rest of us for trying to keep up :)

Also gatrs, where the HELL is your update on the social page? Did you start a new social page? I've gone looking several times and the newest thing I can find is some proposed new series by pos.

Is it the OP of one of those forums you updated?

It's just a group for myself (GTPACO), gogatrs (GTPIMSA) and Jav (GTPFIA) to discuss how we go about running the series' and other general admin stuff.
 
My Toyota tune was off at Monaco, I jumped in the Bentley after the race and automatically did a 1:25.2xx. After a couple more laps I hit 1:24.9xx. I was going to use it, but I thought it was too fast, and easy. Maybe I should reconsider!

The bentley is in a league of its own. Around suzuka, i knocked 2-3 seconds off my best time on the first lap compared to the 908... Regret? Very!
 
Bentley is about .5 to .7 quicker then the rest of the field (except the 01 R8, but that's banned)

Unless you do individual car balancing, there will be the an imbalance. The difference isn't huge, but 2s spread with the cars excluding the slow r10, jag, clk-lm

I'd like the cars choice to be left a bit more open to atleast cars that have competed in GT racing in the past or are currently in GT racing (GT1, GT2/E, GT3, GT4) as it'd give us more variety. If there were more manufacturers in GTE then the ALMS grid could be healthier IRL (like it needs to be) but there are more cars out there than just those in the ALMS and being that this is an online series why not allow the diversity?
 
I think the Toyota can be faster on high speed tracks, like lasarthe. I was faster in it than the bentley, but the race at the 05 version caught me out there. I was testing the 09 version so when we raced there I was unfamiliar with how the tracks layout differed. But I was only two to five seconds a lap slower than the guy using the bentley. I don't think it needs taming. Just my take.

The bentley don't need nerfing, the peugeot/me combination is useless!

Should by some wild chance that we only do two classes again next year, I'll allow more cars.
But if it's only 4-6 cars per class, it'll only be cars from the ALMS this year.

Do it in Sports Hards for a bit of challenge. Racing tires ruins a road car's true handling capabilities, IMO.
