An Update to the ONLINE Racing!

Dam, London is my fav online race, I think this tracks plays well to those of us that donlt have a G25 (yet). Not happy!

First post btw, my PSN is CurlyPutz, I have setup a GTP_CurlyPutz too but no times down on this yet. Mainly setting TT's Pro Mode in the GTR / Lotus Tuned.

ya but they will probaly bring it back sooner or later there just testing things of different types now..

Today is holyday in Portugal, so I had the chance to try a couple of races. Way to many moronic kids online at this hour bur still, I think the F1 can be good fun. But not for me...

Time to re-setup my rides for the new events. See you later online!

I don't understand taking Daytona road, and London races off? Get rid of Daytona oval, because this is not a Nascar game! Everytime i ran Daytona there were at least four people. Don't understand two laps for 700PP now either! Well that is my first RANT on here, hope it's the last!

Not chuffed about them removing Daytona Road, it's my favourite track. Will try the new races tomorrow...

PP500 @ Suzuka = nice
PP600 @ Suzuka w/ Pro physics = about time
PP750 @ ? = Let the tuner cars have their place and leave those of us not into them alone.

I like the update, though the servers seemed a bit messed up this morning EST. I'd like to see racing at Eiger and 5+ lap events with tire wear, pit stops, etc...but I'm sure they will come at some point.

Fuji F!!!???!!!!????!!!

Grrr...

;)

Having to setup my cars again... is making my mad to thing that I'll have to change back again if the older events resurface...

PD please bring back SAVE SETTINGS from GT3(or was it 2?). This way we can save our setting for every track/PP combination.

since my favorite track is gone (Daytona Road) I'll be racing on two events.
Suzuka 750 with my Viper Tuned and on Suzuka 600 with my TVR Sixspeed (odd choice but I like the beast)

Hmmm... GT5P has save settings, both offline and on.

When you select an event, go to Quick Tune. The very first category you can select is Set. Click on it and you'll see you have three Sets (A, B, C) to save settings on. If you want to save more than three, then you can do what I do, and buy more than one car of the same model. 👍

It "memorizes" 3 sets A/B/C and you have to remember what where they for. I was talking about "save as" and then write data on the name. Like track name etc... That way you can reuse them any time.

I've always thought you should be able to re-name your settings, i'm always forgetting which setup is for which track/event if i have'nt used them for a while, these little things make all the difference.

Been away for a few days, nice to see some new events with lower PP on pro physics... 👍 PD.

That would be nice, as well as saved replays from online races, among many other things... and hopefully they will be in GT5. In the meantime, for those that have a hard time remembering, one could simply right it down, or better yet just create spreadsheet on your PC. I have one for GT3, GT4, and GT5P. It's a great way to compare the setups you have tried out and the lap times you have been able to achieve with the different setups. 👍

Here's another, take a picture on your mobile and "save_as" :-)

Just read the ingame news..

Its an update to the online events only ! Theres nothing for download at all.
Simply some new events...

They delayed the update of these events several weeks due to a research of which ones are accepted by the players and maybe looking at the problems occuring during the races, such as standing starts messup, penaltys, ramming etc.

Now they put up something which will be accepted by even more of the players...

For me I hope for:

Race events for the F1
Race events on Eiger Nordwand
Race events with more than 20 laps
Race events for one type of car (manufacturer events)
Time-Trial and Race events for cars at max performance (1000 PP, but no F1)
Race Events on Suzuka short

Race events for the F1 --> Yes but only 8 cars
Race events on Eiger Nordwand --> No
Race events with more than 20 laps --> No
Race events for one type of car (manufacturer events) --> No
Time-Trial and Race events for cars at max performance (1000 PP, but no F1) --> No
Race Events on Suzuka short --> No

:grumpy:Dissapointed --> Yes

F2007 + Suzuka + DFGT = OMFG!

I got the F2007 a while back and only had a DS controller to play GT5p with. I didn't think much of the F2007, nor have I ever though much of the F1 cars that have been in the GT series. It was cool and all but way hard to control in any real racing way with the controller. However, plugging in the DFGT finally and loading in the Suzuka TT I was blown away. I was flat in corners there I usually have to brake hard into, I didn't lift in other corners that are a no-no to go through anymore than half throttle. I ended up sitting there sweating, hyper and laughing to myself after 15 laps of Suzuka. I'm about 8secs off the top time, 6 of those will be easy seconds, the rest will be alot of fear.

I don't know how Kimi does it...but I have a new respect for F1 drivers.

These new events are just making me nervous with their higher PP requirements in expert (now 750pp). I can barely keep up with the tuning of my beloved Evo X Tuned car (only just fine tuned my gear ratios to match now) with 731pp out of 750. Though strangely I did manage to win my first 2 races with the new requirements while others have around 750pp on their cars. If this trend continues I don't think i'll be able to race in Suzuka Expert for much longer....

I see there's a Daytona Road PP700, I'm happy. Not as fun as the PP600 though. Most people seem to be using Ferrari 430s (me included, I just guessed at the most suitable car) which go up to 693PP, and there are a few people using Tuned Corvettes and the Amuse S2000 but they don't seem to have any real advantage.

Glad they haven't got rid of online racing at Daytona RC but at the same time, if we can have PP500 and 600 races in pro mode, why not intermediate?

Exactly.

There should be a race on each track, for each class. I'm still pissed about losing Fuji F 600pp. Sure it was standard physics, but taking my black Boxer around Fuji F is too much fun. I would love for them to bring it back with Pro physics.

I am enjoying the hell out of the 500pp races. My little graphite Citroen seems to have no trouble eating up Suzuka. I have yet to even try the 750pp races. I'm having too much fun with 500pp and 600pp.

;)

yeah I really like the new 500pp races. Last night I was tearing up the asphalt with my Integra Type R on Suzuka. Even only with 220hp it's so much fun.

Well, we'll have to get together for a race. The Integra is very competitive in the 500pp races. I'm still working on my graphite Citroen to be more competitive, but so far I seem to win with it more often than not (depending on amount of punters, aggressive blockers).

Last night I was also running against some C4's not only Integra's and the C4 was very competitive I even lost 1,2 races to a C4. So I think with the right setup I will be a very interesting race.

So was I and JASE72, but it was very late, and we were mostly alone. Even with some company, we were lonely ;-)

I'm going back there tonight. Still have a couple of places I need to improve my racing line before I go RWD on this track.

Too much fun not to be :)

Was racing in the Suzuka 500PP tonight, it is good fun actually. I tried an Elise first but it was a bit underpowered (even though I was catching up like mad on the corners). I then tried the tuned Suzuki Swift which was awful, understeered like crazy everywhere. Switched to the Alfa 147 and that was pretty nice, a good challenge, so I may use that from now on.

The Alfa 147 is a very competitive car in the 500pp races. The Citroen C4, and the Integra Type R seem to do quite well also.

I'm heading out there right now.

;)

Any news already on the new online events?

kind regards,
galgospeed

I did check to see if there were new events this morning but no luck unfortunately. The existing ones are being kept until at least next week (22nd)👎

I'm really stating to miss the 'weekly' updates of the japanese version:nervous:
