You can remove the badge. Maybe it´s just one of the clips that isn´t tightened on it? Doesn´t sound that good with the calibration issues. Do you have a second PC to confirm it?

Tried uninstalling and installing the 1.0 drivers perhaps?

Ok thanks, got it working again, but it has this clacking noise like in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgO2RxtZEQQ&feature=player_profilepage#

Does anyone else have the same problem? Is there a way to fix it or do I just have to live with it?

UPDATE 5

We received the new PCB and assembled this component. The result is good so we have everything in place to start final assembly of the wheel this week.

YAY!

Oh dear...

Production has started today but unfortunatly we had to stop it again because the defective rate was too high. We are now reworking a tooling for a plastic part and make new injection of perfect parts. We plan to coninue final assembly on Tuesday. I am very confident that we can still ship out all units which go by UPS or airfreight next week.

In a way I'm glad I'm not getting one of the first wheels. Sounds like they might still have some gremlins to work out.

I asked this before on the blog and via email but does someone know when and how we will receive our copies of Forza 3 now that the wheels is delayed?

I have seen that question asked almost as much as when are we getting our wheels, and for some reason no one will give us an answer to the Forza 3 game. You would think that, "when and how will we get our copy of forza 3" would be an easy one to answer.

We are still figuring out with MS how you get the copy and when. I try to get them before the official release. In return it would be great if our community members will then publish their impression about the game to the racing forums

It's not really that uncommon. Only a few games properly map the hand changing part to cover full lock to lock.

I know it is not uncommon but that makes it so much worse; as so few games do it right. Why GT5 or Forza can not take initiative do it at least as well as it is in Live for Speed. Live for speed is small team game and it makes still multi million games look retarded in steering animation.

Yay:

UPDATE 7

We finally started production and everything goes smoothly! All the units which will be shipped by airfreight and UPS will be done by tomorrow and so we can arrange immediate shipment. Only the wheels will be shipped from China. In case you ordered other items like Shifter Set or Clubsport pedals we will ship them from our warehouses so that they arrive in time.

The force feedback for the 911 turbo s and the 911 turbo are different on the PC. I haven't gotten a chance to test much. I'm not sure if it is drive bug, if my old turbo wheel is worn out, if it's firmware problem, or what :p. But there is definitely a difference in force feedback between the two.

i think the turbo s comes with it. so i'm guessing the answer is yes? You'd have to check the store to see if it is available for purchase separately

throttle cuts out on me while racing on PC w/ turbo s wheel. i look at the dongle, and i see the red flicker off :/

anyone else having problems with their steering. pedal inputs not registering? Sometimes while driving, i'll feel the pedals or steering die and I'll look over and see 1 or both of the lights on the dongle have gone out temporarily.... I'm gonna try using the wire instead of dongle and see if the problem persists...

Update 8
The first units are ready to ship. We plan to send out all units which will be sent by airfreight (orders before June) and the advanced shipment units on Monday. Some units had a small issue because they used used the wrong colour of the plug on the pedals but I waived this issue instead of risking another delay. I hope you will not mind

anybody here know french?

Turbo S review there is a part 1 as well but was curious about the conclusions in the end

This wheel is a real wonder.
The impressions are truly like they should have to be.
It's a pleasure to drive with the clutch
The workmanship (finishing touch) of the wheel is exemplary in spite of some remaining faults.

What I liked

The quality, force and precision of the FFB
The style of the Porsche wheel
The nostalgic, 'illuminated' buttons
Something about settings and memory thing, so I guess programmable settings, buttons?
Toughness of the brake pedal
Compact design (I think)
Strong plate => to put the pedals on

What I didn't like

Clicking sound when shifting => H-pattern
The plastic'finishing touch'
Suppleness of the throttle
Plastic pedals

@gabkicks
Please keep in mind that the PWTS you have is a very early prototype and not even a pre-production model. It can have some flaws. If you talk to our support I am sure we will find a solution for some of your issues.

Here...we...go...

The wheels are on the way! We have sent the wheels for the airshipment and the advanced UPS shipment. The UPS shipment will have to go to Germany first and from there to the customers. We can hopefully give you a tracking number after they arrived here in Germany.

We are also now shipping all accessoires for these orders like CSP or wheel Stands.

Is Fanatec looking into building a generic wheel and not a Porsche branded wheel? If so, I would be vewwy, vewwy interested as the reviews of the G27 are not as good as I expected.

I've heard that before, and just wondering the thinking behind it? Are you really opposed to the Porsche brand, or is there another reason? Because I've heard it argued before "if it didn't have to be official Brand X" (or whatever), "it would be cheaper to purchase." I don't necessarily buy that. If it's a good value vs the G27 for what you get then it's still a good value with the symbol from Stuttgart on it as well, IMHO.

Besides, without Porsche $$ to fund the startup of this division we might not have these products (I'm just guessing there, could be way off base.) Anyway, /conjecture, I digress...
