Maybe I misread the template then, but I could have sworn that the holes were equal distance from the centerline on that template. I left it at work, so I can't check. Maybe it was operator error on my part then. Wouldn't be the first time.

About the drilling, It says somewhere in the manual or somewhere else that the holes in the wheel were not equally spaced from the center of the wheel. Have you maybe considered drilling slots across the obutto? so that no matter the position of the holes in the wheel you can have some adjustability? its the way I'm going to do it when I drill holes for my wheel.

It could be that we have different templates. Honestly, all I did was measure, line up template, drill, and mount. I have since checked (after reading about your issue), and it is indeed perfectly centered on my cockpit.

How far off center is your wheel?

;)

Well, it was operator error. On the Obutto, in order to miss the 1" tubing that supports the steel plate the wheel attaches to I flipped it over and applied the template from the bottom so I could tell where I was at. Essentially I mirrored it which offset the holes the wrong direction.

Neet! :boggled:

Well, I'm glad you figured it out.

Sigh. Just hard mounted the Turbo S to my Obutto with the supplied drilling template. The damn thing is off center. My holes in the Obutto are correct, but the holes in the wheel base are not the same with respect to the centerline of the wheel.

Very irritating. I should have noticed it, but I figure if the template says wheel centerline then they should be the same!

Take note if you go to hard mount this thing, you'll need to offset the half inch or whatever it is. If someone mentioned this before I wish I would have seen it.

Meh. 👎

I had the same problem when I had the GT3RS wheel + Obutto. And apparently another member (timeattack07gt) also had this problem with the Obutto.

The problem is that the Obutto wheel plate itself is off center :banghead:

I printed off the drilling template, and centered it on the wheel mount--dead center--and after the holes were drilled, and I screwed the wheel down, I noticed that it was off center to my left by about 1-2 inches--extremely irritating :grumpy:

Also, the Obutto is just a pain in the 🤬 when it comes to hardmounting. It would have been nice if there were pre-drilled holes for hard mounting like the Playseat Evo/G25--but I guess that would be a little cost prohibitive, I don't know. Also, the support bars under the wheel plate could have been designed a little differently maybe. They're at least an inch thick, and even when you drill the holes through them, you have to get a 30 or 40mm length bolt to go through them, and they never felt like they were as solidly mounted to the wheel as the other holes that didn't have to go through those support bars.

But having said all that, I'm very pleased with the Obutto overall. There is absolutely NO WOBBLE at all in that cockpit 👍 And the G27/DFGT are solid as a rock when they're mounted on there, even with just the clamps. I don't even have them hardmounted (I got tired of drilling holes in the wheel plate for the GT3RS :dopey: )

I got a question.

Does that shifter remove from the wheel or is stuck in 'arcade next to the wheel' position?
No you can remove it and mount it to something else if you would like.

I be damned I found the aluminium shifter paddles now. I hope you don´t mind Delphic Reason but I tested them now on my Turbo S and it´s just impossible to use them with this wheel. No better then the GT 3 RS. The fingers don´t even fit underneith them.

6+1 Shifter Calibration Issues

Hello all and Happy New Year!

I found the discussion of shifter calibration at post #470 and have tried performing that operation. So far the 6+1 shifter still does not function properly. I've also tried the short supplied cable as well as the long cable intended for the Clubsport pedals. I have tried the shifter port on the left and right side of the PWTS.

When I select any gear "up" in the H pattern (R, 1, 3, 5) the PS3 selects R in GT5P. When I select any gear "down" in the H pattern (2, 4, 6) the PS3 selects 2 in GT5P.

Has anyone else had these issues or does anyone have a suggestion?

Thank you for any help. Be safe tonight.

Spiff

Equipment: PWTS, Clubsport pedals, PS3

Well, thanks for checking. If you say they don't work, I'll take your word for it. I think some custom paddles are in my near future.

Does any of you play rfactor? Im very much clueless in FFB settings for turbo S. I tried also real FFB plugin but it had very serious shaking in the straights problem.

Also i now tried the dongle, and it just can not hold firm connection to wheel and distance to wheel is onlu 3m.

Long time ago no problem. I ran both realfeels, leos FFB and some mix I remember. Leos FFB often felt better then realfeel though. Worth a shot :)

Thanks! Leos seem to use Pacejka curve so it kind of makes sense that it is better :)

Ok now i have made myself an g25 pedal adapter. All i now needs is some good tape to protext the connection.
I used multimeter resistance setting to first find out ground and then individual inputs.

-Ground - line x resistance must only depend on one pedal's position
-Ground - 5v pin resistance is quite constant no matter how you press the pedals
-Then just find out which pin is which with the ground.

This wheel sounds like a absolute nightmare after reading through these posts! For some strange reason though, I'm temped to pick one up...

Can anyone confirm or deny compatibility with DF GT pedals? Id like to be able to use them while I search for a G25 set.

Raitziger - electrical shrink wrap works wonders for sealing connections and comes in a bunch of different sizes

Yes i know, but there is not any that near me and duct tape works ok too. First pages were about bad beta wheels and final wheels have been out only couple of months. I like my turbo s more than G25.

Well my CS pedals decided to pack up and die on Saturday night. I think it's a connection issue, the wheel is fine but the wiring/inputs all feel fragile flimsy so I'm assuming it's that. Gonna' get on to Fanatec now.

As has been said already, most of the complaints were from "beta" wheels, and do not represent the final product. Most of us have only had our wheels for a few months. Mine is working flawlessly.

I don't think so. The only pedals reported to be compatible (with an adapter) are the Microsoft (from the Wireless Wheel) and the G25 pedals.

That reminds me. I have yet to recieve my "dual purpose" adapter from Fantec (will work for both sets of pedals). I was promissed this adapter after having a few hiccups with my order.

Any word, Fanatec?

;)

Had my Turbo S for two months and it's still working.

I'm using my G25 pedals and I'm so glad I went this route. They work impeccably with the wheel and Forza 3.

I'll assume since I got delivery in December that my Wheel and pedals were not beta units.

Pedals only used 2 weeks and broke. Large paper weight now sitting on my desk.

I'm sorry to hear that. Mine are still working flawlessly (Since November), as is the rest of the package (wheel/shifter).

Hopefully, my good luck continues.

Have you sent away for new pedals?

;)

I have emailed Fanatec Support numerous times for weeks, and used their "Contact Us" via their web site.

I am looking for direction from them based on my symptoms. Is it the pedals, or controller in Wheel, or ??. My understanding from others, is that my symptoms have happened with other pedals, so it's not an unknown issue.

You should be able to get a new set from them pretty easily then.

Standard pedals?

;)

Yes - Standard pedals.

Yes, you would think so, but ... I failed to mention above - I have yet to hear from Fanatec as of yet :(

Bad thing is, this was our Christmas present to our son. That's all he wanted, and it was a pretty expensive gift. He got to use it for a brief time, and now .......

I have never had any problem getting a hold of Fanatec. They always email me back within a few days.

Keep us up to date as to what happens.

Come to think of it, I still haven't received my G25 adapter. :dunce:
