Also a suggestion from them that I could open the wheel to fix it myself (with guidance from Fanatec) but also advised me at the same time that my warranty would no longer be valid if I opened it up  Why they suggested this to me is beyond me !!

Thomas I have a question. I did the rim swap on the PWTS -> GT3 v1 about a month or so ago and all is well but... What would happen if I were to have a problem w/ the wheel now? Is my warranty gone b/c I opened the wheel? Just wondering.

Well the guy at support told me my warranty would be void if opened.

Support are very slow to respond back though 👎

And that is why i asked if fanatec does this mods.
Because Thomas alternative is doable, and sure fine for him businesswise but as a customer you either need to be super wealthy or dumb to pay for 2 wheels, void warranty on both and use only one.

I read through the threads, watched isr reviews,... Will go for the turbo S.

Question for Thomas, if i do now my preorder, i would like to add the tuning kit for the csp (assuming they will soon be available , mid-august?). How do i proceed?

Read on your futur motion project. Count me in (around 4500 should be ok, less is always welcome)!

Before I did the swap I had a conversation w/ Fanatec via email and they will not do the swap. That is why I went ahead and did it myself.

Yeah i thought so.
I will place a order for the turbo S UE with carbon shifters and gearshifter.
And mod it after the warrenty is out. Will only repaint the shell. Meanwhile there is the CS shifter and handbrake to "mod". And after that there are again other wheels out (now it´s nearly every 2 years lol).

But the swap really does look good. I don´t have sweaty hands, but also alcantara is so nice feeling and grippy

Hello, instead of making another thread i thought i might ask this here.

I tried my Fanatec GT3RSV2 on PS3 and the feeling is very strange, it want to pull from side to side. Does anybody have some really good settings for GT5 P?

I am runnig the GT3RSV2 on PS3 with FFB on 4 and simulation and still long straights are hard work due to its very small 0-point

Feels like i tried everything, the wheel doesn´t feel connected when driving straight. It´s like it has a deadzone or something.

Tried fiddling with the settings to try and remove the deadzone but to me it feels like the FF is wrong in the game. The car reacts to slowly to my inputs when doin small corrections on straights or setting the car up for braking just after turn 10 and 12 where you carry alot of speed through but have to get on the brakes fast and safe.

I drive Iracing other than GT5P so i know how it should feel. But physics wise it felt really good,

IF anybody finds some setting to remove this problem then don´t hesitate to reply, thanks.

haha me too.
ordered yesterday and payed today
also turbo s UE
carbon shifterpaddles
shifterset + cables
orange set for pedals

Now just gotta wait till the +-20th august :(

Has anyone tried wiring a handbrake to the handbrake pin-out on the Clubsport Pedals. And if so would it work w/ a console.

Yeah - I added the RF dongle/alum paddles & twin shifter pack (6 + Seq)

Figured I'd buy it now and it should be here closer to my hatching-day!

Self gifts are the best!

👍

Hey stega, your keyboard is broken, did you notice?

The GT3RS is supposed to have 14 buttons on the wheel is that correct? No matter how hard i look at the pictures i just cant seem to find them! It is important as I worked out on my DFGT i use around 13 most of the time.

Would anyone be able to do a quick photoshop of the wheel labelling all the buttons, I looked for an exsisting picture but couldnt find one. Thankyou :)

4 on either side of the porsche emblem (8- Only up/down), 4 on the Dpad (up/down/left/right) and two under the Dpad (left/right).

2 Paddles and one PS3 activation button.

So 17 total but if your not counting the PS3 button and paddles then it´s 14.

GT3RS V2.

Oh I see! The buttons either side can be up OR down. I thought there were just two either side. And then the two under the emblem i can see, and also a d-pad!? The actual emblem itself? Thats pretty clever. I thought it may just be one button for a horn. Is the centre portion soft or rigid?

Thanks for the info 👍

No the D-pad is at the bottom of the steering wheel just over the left/right buttons.

QUESTION: I have a GT3RS V2, What firmware should i download? The Turbo S or the GT3RS. There is no GT3RS V2 option.

The problem is that the V2 shares the same electronics as the Turbo S but it´s called the GT3RSV2

There is no new firmware for the GT3RSV2 available. If you upload a PWTS firmware you will destroy your wheel.

You should write down what type of drivers to install once you get the wheel. since it´s Turbo S electronics but is called GT3RS V2 you really don´t know what to download.

if you go to the website, it tells you what drivers to install. also there are details given about what firmware to download if any.

Drivers and firmware are completely different things as drivers are installed on your PC but firmware is uploaded to your wheel. Also just because it has similar functions to a Turbo S does not mean it has Turbo S electronics. The design is probably similar as are most of the ICs but don't forget the Turbo S supports X360, wireless dongles and has lit up buttons.

All the wheels ship with firmware already installed, if there was none installed then the wheels would not work. Since the GT3RS V2 only has one firmware available for it, that is what comes installed from Fanatec and there is none available on their site for the GT3RS V2 (because it would be the exact same as what you have now).

You cannot mix firmware between devices because no matter what it is (eg: phone, mp3 player, wheel, etc) it will most likely die. It is always safer just to assume every product is different and wait for a firmware download for your specific device, in this case not a Turbo S but a GT3RS V2. By the way, there is no firmware available for a GT3RS because it does not have user upgradeable firmware, only drivers.

Huh? :dunce: i dont see it!

Is it the top one of the two buttons below the centre? Now i know what to look for it kind of looks like i could use it in four directions. Does that mean the buttom right at the bottom have two uses, left and right?

I thought Thomas said in the new simracing video that the V2 had upgradable firmware. It'd be a shame if were drivers only as i intend only to use it with the PS3.

The GT3RS V2 does have user upgradeable firmware, but not the original GT3RS (aka V1). The original GT3RS (V1) only has drivers available for download. Sorry for the confusion when I say GT3RS I mean V1, if I am talking about the new one I will state GT3RS V2.

I said that because hampus_dh was asking if they should download the GT3RS or the Turbo S firmware from the site but I think they were looking at drivers because the GT3RS (V1) will not have firmware for download and the GT3RS (V2) does not have any firmware to download yet.

My bad. I got confused because hampus mentioned the V2.

By the way, if GTPlanet do awards, your sig should get the 2010 for sure! 👍

How many workers does Fanatec have, I might be a tad impatient but it doesn't take this long to ship out a couple items. If it was on backorder then fine, but don't reply with yes you have paid for it and it will ship this week.

Being that I work for a manufacturing company with only 8 employees we ship over 200 boxes a day worth anywhere between $10,000 to $200,000 a day. I puchased a cockpit a day after I purchased the wheel and it will arrive tomorrow.

I thought fanatec had there customer service worked out but I guess not if they cannot give a set date when they will ship. After that I know it is on UPS but damn man this is ridiculouss.

Sorry for my rant but there is no reason in this day in age that a product takes this long to ship.

That is a drawback, yes. It looks like they wait for a number of orders to bild up and ship them all out at once approximately once a week (at least here in Europe it is so).
After that it's on UPS, so you know you get great service and fast delivery. I have only good experience with UPS.
