Well as i think i won´t have any kind of chance in any contest and Czech Rep wouldn´t be included i have no option but to buy it. :) So for the last time and simple ( sorry :D ) : If i order it now, will i recieve it in the mid October or they already "sold" all the wheels? (because the first day the wheel was available i dont remember that red *** text being there)

Oh and BTW they appearently recieved those wheels so i am really confused.

In this topic it also says: After the ships arrived it will still take up to three weeks until it will arrive at the customers but it is looking good so far... . So, probably the 19th is the date of a ship arrival, although I may be wrong.

I am thinking about getting the GT3 V2 now instead of the G27, but I am not sure as to which extent the CSP is worth the extra $$, the difference for me would be about 100Euros, but in regards to the GT3 V2 then that is with the Clubsport table clamp, but without the shifters added, I would wait for the Clubsport shifter if I get it.

With the G27 I am mostly worried about the clunking sound and the lesser, at least percieved quality of the pedals, but it has an ok shifter as I understand.

Furthermore I am curious as to which extent the V2 Porsche wheel is better then the V1, not as in "listed improvements" but if it delivers what it promises, another issue would be the noise of from the fan form the Porsche wheel. Is this only happening when it is really hot and when the FFB is activated, or is it possibly also running when the FFB is not in use?

I`m really torn about this, I am not a hardcore simracer, but I want to get into it more so it is above a medium investment for me computer wise.

A positive thing though is that it seems from what I am reading that the costumer service has improved from Fanatec.

Archangel,

I am sure others here will be more help than me, as I just got my GT3RS V2 on Friday. For the fan noise, I havent noticed it at all yet. I played GT5P for about 8hrs straight on Saturday with in game FF set to 10 and 100% on the wheel. I didnt hear the fan kick on at all. The outer part of the case was cooler than what my previous G25 would have been after that amount of use.

As for the pedals, compared to the G25 pedals (which arent much different than the G27) to me, there there night and day better. To me there definitely worth the extra coin.

@NoxNoctis
The kits will arrive in late October. We will put it in our shop very soon for ordering it.

Thomas

Oh man, still waiting. I know its about a month to go, but what if I send you guys the wheel, would you guys be able to do it right away? Or maybe what if I could replace my current wheel with new wheel? I would pay bit extra if its possible. Thanks

Did you get the upgrade kit? I thought Thomas will start shipping next month.

Not yet I'm just prepping it I sent email too them and waiting now for the next step the main differs on v1 and v2 is just 2 new boards with new updated stuff no more system back dating real plug and play that's some of what you get with update kit if you buy a new v2 wheel it will have a on/off switch and maby a fue other small things here:http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/3727
Here is the detailed list of the new 911 GT3 RS V2 racing wheel:

Full PS3 compatibility
3 styles of paddle shifter included:
Button only
Small steel shifter
Big Clubsport Paddle Shifter made of aluminum
Upgradeable firmware

on/off switch
More powerful electronics for perfect calibration and precision
Advanced TUNING functions:

Adjustable ABS vibration for all games (PS3 and PC)
Adjustable deadzone (no more shaking on straigths)
Adjustable linearity
Steering angle from 90° to 900° in 10° steps
Adjusstable drift mode

Are there any differances between Buying a V2 wheel and upgrading from V1 to V2?

Yes read my post earlier my v1 no on off switch and can't do ps3 with out messing with the system date and more in the software is better tuneabilty on the wheel more settings overall

Oh thanks.
So it seems only the ON and OFF button wont work. But as long I do not have to switch the Dates anymore to Play Gran Turismo 5 I will be happy.

As well, its possible now to turn on the ABS vibration on the PS3 right? (using the Wheel options)

I really hope the KIT will make the wheel work just like the V2 Store Version.

Thomas, or if anyone knows

Are their any dates yet for the CSP Tunning Kit arriving back into stock.
Have a set ordered and just curious if I will have this before early November?

Yeah on the V2 you can set ABS vibration on the wheel.

Yeah! Thats good to know. I hope they put the V2 kits quick so I can buy one and install it before GT5 arrives!

IBO
about 4 cm but you need to be careful that the screws are not tightened too much because otherwise you can damage the belt drive.

Ok 4 cm is a bit too much for the holes in the front. The back holes no problems with 3.5cm but the front holes: I screwed them slowly in and at one point my mic port lifted as i turned, so i unscrewed them fast and rescrewed my 2 cm screws in.

No harm done. Everything still works. Just hope i did not damage something

I'm having a hell of a time trying to find a 5 volt fan for the forcefeed back motor mine is busted the fan blade hits the wire lome that goes thru the center of the wheel rim on my gt3rs. Maby going to have to get one from Darin Gangi over at www.insidesimracing.com he's got a fanatec wheel grave yard that's my last resort.

Could you be more clear please? Is something wrong with the fan or is your problem only fan blades hitting the cable and making a noise?

Higher voltage fans will work on 5V. The problem is that not all of them will start up at the lower voltage. If you have small higher voltage fans (12V) laying around you can try connecting them, powering up the wheel and see if they spin up.

What size is the fan anyways?
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Cat=1179730
Put a check in the "In stock" box
Select [5VDC] under "Voltage - Rated"
Select [Tubeaxial] under "Fan Type"
Select the size under "Size / Dimension" where W is the depth of the fan (you can shift+click to select a range or ctrl+click to select multiple one at a time)

http://ca.mouser.com/Thermal-Management/Fans-Blowers/_/N-z14z?P=1z0xjmuZ1z0x0rc
Select the size under "Frame Dimensions (mm)" (you can shift+click to select a range or ctrl+click to select multiple one at a time)

Or you can search on ebay for 5V fan plus the measurement(s).

Oh and also make sure your fan is actually broken and not just grazing something as sonac wanted to know above.

I have heard a fan clicking grinding noise when the wheel rim is turned all the way to one side and then 1 day no more noise the fan is done shot 2 blades snapped and 2 of the 3 mounting it's snaped pic later add

Here's a good replacement for the smaller fan is that's the one you are talking about: http://www.xsfans.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_44&products_id=610

The size is 30mm X 30mm X 10mm, 5V

Also, I've got a question about the fans in the RS wheel. Is the small 30mm fan near the top of the housing supposed to be on all the time? Mine starts up the instant the wheel is turned on.

If it's V2 of the GT3RS, yes, it's supposed to be on all the time. Anyone with a Turbo S UE (or a PWTS with upgraded firmware) can attest to that.

Apparently, there were some overheating problems prior to the latest firmware. Having the fan on all the time reduces this risk.

As an owner of Turbo S pure, with latest firmware update 669ue the fan is always on

that's the one you are talking about
Nope not that one their is no wires near it. The bigger one mounted on the Force feedback motor its less than a half inch thick and only 1 1/2 inch square.

I was going to get a GT3RSV2 but my dad didn't want to pay £300 for a 'toy' so he got me a Fanatec Porsche Carrera Wheel for £155 inc. delivery. I'm really excited of getting this wheel and hope that I get it before GT5 is released to try it out.

Hi, well 30mm x 30mm x 10mm is about that. 10mm in old money is just over 3/8th of a inch. Not impossible, but most fans have wires. Most Fan size's are standard. Number of wires, Fan speed monitoring, or PWM speed control, just mean more than 2 wires ie 3 & 4.
Most peeps on here wouldn't think a wheel is a toy  , especially for some of the prices.
Got a feeling your going to like your Carrera wheel thou, got most if not all the features of the more expensive models, i think.

Cheers BOB

Hey Fanatec guy, any info is the Version 2 Kits for the GT3 RS wheels will be sent out? Last time you told me end of October. I already started to dismount my cockpit and making it ready for GT5 since now I have some free time on my hands. I made a stable stand for the shifter yesterday, as well few other changes i still have to make for the entire cockpit. So I think I wont mount the wheel until I install V2 kit on it.

@ Thomas from Fanatec:

Hope you are reading this …!? My brother and I are currently working on a small Review of 4 different wheels (Logitech/Fanatec) including the two Fanatec wheels Porsche Turbo and Porsche GT3RS v2 all mounted on the Fanatec Rennsport cockpit, where we also want to have a closer look on. Regarding the new GT3RS v2, which I got 2 weeks ago, I have some questions:

- We noticed a bigger difference between the GT3RS and the old Turbo wheel in how they feel in a race situation. The new GT3RS is a lot quieter and even smoother than the old Turbo wheel. Are there any general adjustments/improvements you made in the last 2 years on the wheels? Unfortunately we also noticed that on the new GT3RS the belt drive does not work totaly smooth near the center. Especially when steering to the right we can feel there a small resistance.

- The adjustability direct on the wheel is amazing, especially on the new GT3RS. But currently we are not able to activate both the ABS feature and the rumble feature of the two additional FFB motors to work simultaneous. Is this a known bug? During our wheel comparison we also had the feeling that the rumble effect of the two additional FFB motors (not the main FFB motor!) was much more intensive on the old Turbo wheel than on the new GT3RS. Did you changed something in the construction here?

These are only small things we noticed in our Review tests until now. All in all the new GT3RS v2 seems a really improvement to the old Turbo wheel.

The final Review will probably take another 2-4 weeks because for our final resume we still need to test all wheels a little bit longer and finally the whole thing has to be written in English, which is not one of my big strengths ;) (I’m from Augsburg/Germany).

Best regards
Sebastian

Hi guys,

I need some here with obtaining the dimensions of the boxes of the GT3RS Wheel and the CSP pedals. Also, the weight of the individual boxes would be great too.

As I'm trying to see if I can get a forwarder to ship it to me to Singapore. I tried asking Fanatec, but their replies have been almost none.

Hope someone can help!

The pedals and packaging weigh about 15 pounds and the wheel weighs 12 pounds with packaging. The packaging box for the CSP is 16.5in width, 10.5in length, and 16.5in height. Then the packaging box for the GT3RS wheel is 13in width, 13in length, and 13in height. I hope that helps and I measured it from the boxes myself.
